  Why does the PRINT statement in T-SQL seem to only sometimes work? What are the constraints on using it? It seems sometimes if a result set is generated, it becomes a null function, I assumed to prevent corrupting the resultset, but could it's output not go out in another result set, such as the row count?

• AutoCompleteExtender not working for WebService hosted on IIS 7

  I have a web service file in my project having a web method which is used for AutoCompleteExtender and which works fine when I debug it from VS. But when I publish and host it on IIS, it's not working properly. However, I tested the webservice method directly by typing the URL and it gave the desired output. Is their a special setting needs to be done in IIS to make it working or any property of AutoCompleteExtender need to be set?

  I work with a Panasonic hcm280a camera that can be controlled by my software, It generates a stream of jpeg files that are huge and I want to convert this stream to a FLV stream preferably with a good compressional ration Does FFMpeg do that? I am basically looking for an off the shelve open source software (or commercial software) that can generate that streaming media for me. • limits of number of files in a single directory in unix/linux using Python

  is it bad to output many files to the same directory in unix/linux? I run thousands of jobs on a cluster and each outputs a file, to one directory. The upper bound here is around ~50,000 files. Can IO be limited in speed in light of this? If so, does the problem go away with a nested directory structure? Thanks.

  Im working in a perl one liner to invert the contents of my file contents or perform operations, I was able to generate the script and one liner, but this one liner only works by entering file by file. perl -i -ne '$a=reverse $_;print "$a\n"' <filename> I want to change my one liner to get input from a range of files but when i do: perl -i -ne '$a=reverse $_;print "$a\n"' | ls -al I just get screen output of ls -al Not sure how to proceed.   Hi all, after reading the SOAP specs, it states that a SOAP Fault should return a http 500 errorcode, so when a SoapException is thrown, WCF returns a 500 error code. Now, I'm looking for some best practices to when return a functional soap error message and when to return a SOAP Fault. What would you guys return when a functional error occurred while processing the message because of the input message contains some functional errors, a 500 SOAP Fault or a 200 Soap response containing some error message ?
