  • Exclamation mark used with assert method in its parameters.

    - by Maxsy
Okay this has been lingering in my head for quite a while now. In ruby on rails unit testing there is an exclamation mark with the assert method. Here is an example test "No empty values to be inserted" do product = Produce.new assert !product.save end Let me know the function of the exclamation mark. Quick replies appreciated. Thanks.

  • Use Java Annotation not to run a method

    - by Michael Mao
Hi all: I've got a method in my class only for testing purpose : private void printOut(String msg, Object value) { System.out.println(msg + value); } It is a wrapper method for System.out.println(); So I hope, with the use of Annotation, I can choose not to run this method during productive environment while still keep those diagnostic output ready if I am to switch back to debugging environment. Which Annotation shall I put on top of the method name?

  • Getting shortest path between 2 nodes

    - by Xtapodi
Hello, i want to ask if there is any way to generate the shortest path from node A to node B without generating the shortest paths to all the other nodes (stop when node B is in the examined set) with A-star in QuickGraph. I want to plug QuickGraph into a game and thus generating all the paths is not allowed from the time limitations the environment imposes. Any other suggestions to solve my problem in C# are welcome Thanks in advance, Xtapodi

  • Intermittent error thrown, "A required anti-forgery token was not supplied or was invalid."

    - by Dave K
I'm occasionally getting this error during normal use, and I've not found a way to stop it without removing the attribute that requires the token, which I'd rather not do. I've gotten this bug during my own testing (but seemingly randomly) and I know from my logging that actual logged-in users are getting it as well. Does anyone know what would cause the antiforgerytoken system to break (other than a real attack), and how I could fix this without opening up a security hole in my forms? Thanks!

  • What facets have I missed for creating a 3 person guerilla dev team?

Sorry for the Windows developers out there, this solution is for Macs only. This set of applications accounts for: Usability Testing, Screen Capture (Video and Still), Version Control, Task Lists, Bug Tracking, a Developer IDE, a Web Server, A Blog, Shared Doc Editing on the Web, Team and individual Chat, Email, Databases and Continuous Integration. This does assume your team members provide their own machines, and one person has a spare old computer to be the Source Repository and Web Server. All for under $200 bucks. Usability Silverback Licenses = 3 x $49.95 "Spontaneous, unobtrusive usability testing software for designers and developers." • How can I learn to set up a build process?

    - by Satoru.Logic
Hi, all. What I was taught at school is all about programming languages, software design, but hardly anything about how to automatically build a software, probably with unit testing integrated. Please tell me how do one start learning to set up a build process for his project.

  • PHP Verification Codes CAPTCHA

    - by Juddling
I run a game website so I have many users logged in and they can do certain things once every two minutes. I have a CAPTCHA system in places, and for some things it will always ask for a code, and for other things, it will ask once every 10 minutes. I have had some players use the auto submit feature on Opera, and my CAPTCHA system does stop them. My question is, how can I minimise the amount of times I am asking for a code, but still stop people using this auto-submit?

  • MIgrations ans Rspec

    - by pablorc
Hi, I'm developing a Rails application with Rspec for unit testing. Weeks ago, Rspec used to migrate the database to the last version automatically when executing 'rake spec', but now it doesn't do it automatically, I have to implement everything for myself. This happens in test environment, because my development data doesn't desappear. Is my fault? I didn't change anything, I think :) Thanks in advance.

  • Why would JmDNS service discovery work on a Motorola Droid running Android 2.1-update1 and not on an

    - by Churlbong
I have successfully gotten JmDNS working on Android 2.1 testing on a Motorola Droid by using MulticastLock, but recently got an HTC Incredible as second test device, and JmDNS discovery doesn't work at all. I should mention that broadcasting a service still works and everything appears to run normally, but serviceAdded() never gets called. Does anyone have thoughts on why this might be? I was thinking it might be a permission issue, but I don't get any exceptions...

A randomly generated option (Option1) will trigger other options in a drop down (Option2)...the options in the new drop down will be directly related the to Option1. Option2 will then trigger another drop down with info directly related to Option2 and so forth until reaching OptionEnd...any suggestions, preferably SQL and PHP. Thanks...yeah, I'm a n00b.

  • C++ 2d Array Class Function Call Help

    - by johnny-conrad
I hope this question takes a simple fix, and I am just missing something very small. I am in my second semester of C++ in college, and we are just getting into OOP. This is my first OOP program, and it is causing me a little problem. Here are the errors I am getting: Member function must be called or its address taken in function displayGrid(int,Cell ( *)[20]) Member function must be called or its address taken in function Turn(int, int,Cell ( *)[20]) Member function must be called or its address taken in function Turn(int, int,Cell ( *)[20]) Warning: Parameter 'grid' is never used in function displayGrid(int,Cell ( *)[20]) Here is all of my code. I am aware It is much more code than necessary, sorry if it makes it more difficult. I was worried that I might accidentally delete something. const int MAX=20; //Struct Cell holds player and their symbol. class Cell { private: int Player; char Symbol; public: Cell(void); void setPlayer(int); void setSymbol(char); int getPlayer(void); char getSymbol(void); }; Cell::Cell(void) { Symbol ='-'; } void Cell::setPlayer(int player_num) { Player = player_num; } void Cell::setSymbol(char rps) { Symbol = rps; } int Cell::getPlayer(void) { return Player; } char Cell::getSymbol(void) { return Symbol; } void Turn(int, int, Cell[MAX][MAX]); void displayGrid(int, Cell[MAX][MAX]); void main(void) { int size; cout << "How big would you like the grid to be: "; cin >> size; //Checks to see valid grid size while(size>MAX || size<3) { cout << "Grid size must between 20 and 3." << endl; cout << "Please re-enter the grid size: "; cin >> size; } int cnt=1; int full; Cell grid[MAX][MAX]; //I use full to detect when the game is over by squaring size. full = size*size; cout << "Starting a new game." << endl; //Exits loop when cnt reaches full. while(cnt<full+1) { displayGrid(size, grid); //calls function to display grid if(cnt%2==0) //if cnt is even then it's 2nd players turn cout << "Player 2's turn." << endl; else cout << "Player 1's turn" << endl; Turn(size, cnt, grid); //calls Turn do each players turn cnt++; } cout << endl; cout << "Board is full... Please Re-Enter: "; cin >> choice; } //officially sets choice to grid cell. grid[row][column].setSymbol(choice); } cout << endl; } Thanks alot for your help!

  • Creating a list in Python- something sneaky going on?

    - by GlenCrawford
Apologies if this doesn't make any sense, I'm very new to Python! From testing in an interpreter, I can see that list() and [] both produce an empty list: >>> list() [] >>> [] [] From what I've learned so far, the only way to create an object is to call its constructor (__init__), but I don't see this happening when I just type []. So by executing [], is Python then mapping that to a call to list()?

  • How do i pack multiple rectangles in a 2d box tetris style

    - by mglmnc
I have a number of rectangles of various widths and heights. I have a larger rectangular platform to put them on. I want to pack them on one side of the platform so they spread in the lengthwise (X) dimension but keep the widthwise (Y) dimension to a minimal. That is to place them like a tetris game. There can be no overlaps but there can be gaps. Is there an algorithm out there to do this?
