• Dynamically creating a TreeViewin HTML with indent lines in ASP.NET

  Hi, i'm quite new to HTML, and am trying to create a professional looking TreeView. I can not use the in built TreeView in ASP.NET as i need to point the target of the selection to another frame (I have tried, and this doesn't seem possible). My TreeView is built up as follows: Folder1 ChildOne ChildTwo ChildThree Folder2 ChildOne ChildTwo ChildThree I have the collapsing of the folders working, but would like to know how to format this TreeView so it has dotted lines down to the child nodes (as most TreeViews tend to have). • trying to draw scaled UIImage in custom view, but nothing's rendering

  I've created a custom view class and right now just want to draw an image scaled to fit the view, given a UIImage. I tried just drawing the UIImage.CGImage, but as others have attested to on this site (and in the docs), that renders the image upside down. So, at the suggestion of an answer I found to another question, I'm trying to draw it directly, but nothing is rendering in the view and I'm not sure why. • Pitfalls and practical Use-Cases: Toplink, Hibernate, Eclipse Link, Ibatis ...

  I worked a lot with Hibernate as my JPA implementation. In most cases it works fine! But I have also seen a lot of pitfalls: Remoting with persisted Objects is difficult, because Hibernate replaces the Java collections with its own collection implementation. So the every client must have the Hibernate .jar libraries. You have to take care on LazyLoading exceptions etc. One way to get around this problem is the use of webservices. Dirty checking is done against the Database without any lock. "Delayed SQL", causes that the data access isn't ACID compliant. (Lost data...) Implict Updates So we don't know if an object is modified or not (commit causes updates). Are there similar issues with Toplink, Eclipse Link and Ibatis? When should I use them? Have they a similar performance? Are there reasons to choose Eclipse Link/Toplink... over Hibernate?

• Newtonsoft JSON Interface Serialization error

  I am using C# .NET 4.0, Newtonsoft JSON 4.5.0. public class Recipe { [JsonProperty(TypeNameHandling = TypeNameHandling.All)] public List<IFood> Foods{ get; set; } ... } I want to serialize and deserialize this Recipe object. If I serialize and deserialize the object during application lifetime this succeeds, but if I serialize the object, exit application and then deserialize it then it throws an exception, that it cannot instantiate IFood (since it is an interface). The problem is that it does not serialize the implementation of interface. "$type": "System.Collections.Generic.List`1[[NSM.Shared.Models.IFood, NSMShared]], mscorlib" I tried using TypeNameHandling.Object and Array and Auto, but it didn't help. Is there any way to serialize it properly? Or at least to define the class mapping before deserializing? EDIT: I am using JSON coupled with Hammock ( http://code.google.com/p/relax-net/ ), C# driver for CouchDB, which internally serializes and deserializes objects. As mentioned the problem is that it does not serialize the interface implementation.

• Cannot find symbol - variable

  I'm new to Java, and I'm trying to get user input, store each line of input as a variable and then return each value so that it can be passed on somewhere else. When I try and compile it is telling me that it can't find the variable magnitude. I'm assuming it won't find the others either. I'm guessing that this is because I've declare the variables inside of the "try" but don't know how to get it so that the return statement accepts them. • The benefits and hassles of moving entirely to a WPF Project

  Hi, I have a project that i started as a WinForms application as that was the format i was confortable with at the time. I have since started dabbling in WPF an introduced some WPF UserControls (mainly grids) into my project and absolutely love them. The question i have is, is there any real advantage to me changing the UI Project of my solution into a purely WPF project, and get rid of any WinForms? I am fully aware that each format suits a certain environment, and you wouldnt be able to give a definitive answer without knowing more of the details, but i would like to know peoples opinions, and if anyone has done a silimar thing of converting an existing WinForms App into a WPF frontend, and any observations they made in doing so. • Problem to connect to MySQL server (error #2002) in PHP

  Hello, I installed ZWAMP 1.0.7 (on Windows 7), but I'm having a weird problem. I can't connect to my MySQL server from any PHP script. If I try to use MySQL command line everything works fine but PHPMyAdmin retruns error #2002. I'm not sure whether it's important or not but MySQL server is not able to create socket file. I don't know what's the problem but I think everything is configured in my.cnf properly. Do you have any ideas?

• Linq2sql code generator misbehaving

  Sometime the linq2sql just makes its mind up about things. I've been pulling my hair for the past hours trying to work out what I'm doing differently from all the other times when I don't get ForeignKeyReferenceAlreadyHasValueException. Turns out that if (this._Activity.HasLoadedOrAssignedValue) { throw new System.Data.Linq.ForeignKeyReferenceAlreadyHasValueException(); } is present on my primary key in this particular table, and in no other. No matter what I do with the association, I've even tried deleting and dragging the thing back to the designer, it's still there and I'm sure it's not supposed to be. I know why, of course, but I don't know why, so to speak. A while back the association went the other way. Whereas I've left that era behind me, the code generator seems to exhibit phantom pains. The same phenomenon, is responsible for me having to change the namespace in the designer.cs everytime I make changes in the designer. I made the mistake of renaming my namespace and the code generator just doesn't get it. Somebody please help this poor boy out.

  I'm trying to write function that converts an arbitrary large array of bytes (larger than 64-bit) into a decimal number represented as string in c# and I simply can't figure out how to do it. For example the following code ... • app icon not showing in iphone simulator

  I have a 57x57 PNG file in the root of my bundle, and the "Icon file" setting in my .plist file has the correct filename, but when the app is installed to the simulator, the icon is the default grey/white one. I've tried deleting my app from the simulator (both through the simulator and through rm -rf on the app directory from the console), I've tried cleaning my target, and I've tried renaming my app icon, all to no avail. What do I have to do to get the icon showing?

  I am new to CUDA and programming GPUs. I need each thread in my block to use a vector of length ndim. So I thought I might do something like this: extern __shared__ float* smem[]; ... if (threadIddx.x == 0) { for (int d=0; d<ndim; ++d) { smem[d] = vector[d]; } } __syncthreads(); ... This works fine. However, I seems wasteful that a single thread should do all loading, so I changed the code to if (threadIdx.x < ndim) { smem[threadIdx.x] = vector[threadIdx.x]; } __syncthreads(); which does not work. Why? It gives different results than the above code even when ndim << blockDim.x.

• IntelliJ: Adding resources to the class path, but still gives me "java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find bundle.... locale en_US"

  I am quite new to intellij and i have loaded in a project that i wish to compile, everything seems to be going well, but when i compile it. I get the bundle cannot be found. java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find bundle for base name openfire_i18n, locale en_US at java.util.ResourceBundle.throwMissingResourceException(ResourceBundle.java:1499) After doing some investigation, it appears i have to include the resources in the class path, is this correct? I have done Project Settings, Modules, Dependencies, and i added a "Jars or directories" There is a checkbox that says Export, i have tried clicking it and unclicking it :-) My resources i can see are in i8n\ResourceBundle I tried adding the i8n and it asked me for a category for selected files, i put classes RUN - but still same error.. so i tried adding the i8n/ResourceBundle directory RUN - still same error. I notice under my ResourceBundle directory there are C:\Dev\Java\openfire_src_3_7_1\openfire_src\src\i18n\openfire_i18n_en.properties but there is no specific en_US but i thought it supposed to fallback to EN ?? SO i think everything is ok. Can anyone help I am really stuck Thanks

  Hi, I'm working with django-piston to attempt to create an API that supports oAuth. I started out using the tutorial at: http://blog.carduner.net/2010/01/26/django-piston-and-oauth/ I added a consumer to piston's admin interface with key and secret both set to "abcd" for test purposes. The urls are successfully wired-up and the oAuth provider is called. However, running my get request token tests with tripit (python get_request_token.py "http://127.0.0.1:8000/api" abcd abcd), I receive the following error: Invalid signature. Expected signature base string: GET&http%3A%2F%2F127.0.0.1%3A8000%2Fapi%2Foauth%2Frequest_token%2F&oauth_consumer_key%3Dabcd%26oauth_nonce%3D0c0bdded5b1afb8eddf94f7ccc672658%26oauth_signature_method%3DHMAC-SHA1%26oauth_timestamp%3D1275135410%26oauth_version%3D1.0 The problem seems to lie inside the _check_signature method of Piston's oauth.py, where valid_sig = signature_method.check_signature(oauth_request, consumer, token, signature) is returning false. I can't, however, work out how to get the signature validated. Any ideas?

• How to set AeDebug to get a minidump with the name of the process ?

  I have to perform some post mortem debugging on a C++ project. Known way to perform is to set the cdb debugger as a minidump generator and to process the dumps collects afterwards. I read nearly the whole web and I didn't find a solution to produce a minidump with the name of the process that has crashed Is there a way to set AeDebug\Debugger registry variable in such a manner that cdb generates a dump file with the name of the process ? When I encapsulate the call to cdb.exe in a batch file, it starts well but stays blocked on the symbol searching. I must perform a Ctrl+C in order to stop the batch, then the minidump, with the correct process name, is created... but of course I can't set up such a thing in an unattended production environment... Has anybody done that before ?

  I need to parse a file with the following format. 0000000 ...ISBN.. ..Author.. ..Title.. ..Edit.. ..Year.. ..Pub.. ..Comments.. NrtlExt Nrtl Next Navg NQoH UrtlExt Urtl Uext Uavg UQoH ABS NEB MBS FOL ABE0001 0-679-73378-7 ABE WOMAN IN THE DUNES (INT'L ED) 1st 64 RANDOM 0.00 13.90 0.00 10.43 0 21.00 10.50 6.44 3.22 2 2.00 0.50 2.00 2.00 ABS The ID and ISBN are not a problem, the title is. There is no set length for these fields, and there are no solid delimiters- the space can be used for most of the file. Another issue is that there is not always an entry in the comments field. When there is, there are spaced within the content. So I can get the first two, and the last fourteen. I need some help figuring out how to parse the middle six fields. This file was generated by an older program that I cannot change. I am using php to parse this file.

  I'm trying to write an installer for an app I created. I found a suggestion elsewhere that I was trying to follow and it mostly worked. My app is now in the "Open With" list. However, the app won't run at all. Could it be that it's because the app is not being started in its directory, so it can't find the dlls?
