    My application is not saving users settings after I install it. When I test my app in debug or release mode it works fine. However after compiling, linking and installing the My.Settings.Save() does not seem to be working. I can manually change a setting in the config file and the app runs accordingly. So I know it’s reading the config file on application startup. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

    I have a lot of classes and want to create some kind of 'directory'. So that I can create menus automatically. Clicking a menu-item would then create an instance of the class and shows the window. What I want for this is an array of System.Type where I can stuff in all the classes without instantiating them. Though from my test and (unsuccessful) googling, this doesn't seem possible. Any ideas?

I would really like to test my assignment/programme but being very new to this, i struggle with using the terminal to do things, especially using gdb for debugging (to me it feels like a blast from the past, where i could be using some visual debugger).     This is my SQL: SELECT `tbl`.*, 123 AS `test` FROM `tbl` GROUP BY `test` It works when I run it directly in MySQL. But PDO says: SQLSTATE[42S22]: Column not found: 1054 Unknown column 'test' in 'field list' Why so? How to cure this problem? I'm using Zend_Db.

  • html5media library doesn't work on FF 3.6.3

    Hi. Am I the only one experiencing this issue? I'm using the html5media library and the test page they provide no longer plays in Firefox 3.6.3, though it plays on the latest Safari, Chrome, Opera, and IE. On FF 3.6.3, it shows the video and the audio with large X through them. I'm using this library on my site and noticed the issue as well. I'm not seeing any errors in the error console.

    Say that I'm writing a test and my caret is here (indicated by "|"): [ExpectedException(typeof(InvalidOperationException|))] In Visual Studio 2010, I'd like to press some shortcut that would take me to the next line so that I could start typing "public void Etc()". Right now, I need to press Right arrow Right arrow Right arrow Enter Which is too many key presses IMO. Is there a VS2010 / ReSharper shortcut to aid this operation?

    I have the following simple code: ofstream output("test"); output << 'a'; When I do an octal dump of the file, I get this: 0000000 000141 0000001 I can see that 000141 (in base 8) is 8 bits wide and 0000001 is probably EOF. What is the first byte of all 0's and why is it there? I know it is null is ascii but what is its purpose?
