  • Authentication problem: can't bypass the login prompt when browsing to the SQL Reporing Services web

    Hi all, I'm having a hard time configuring Reporting services on one of our servers. I'm not uninitiated in the domain of IIS7 but I cannot get rid of the login prompt when I'm surfing to the Reporting services website. What I did: I made a windows and SQL user with the same name: Then I choose Anonymous authentication in II7 and filled in the credentials of the specific R.S. user http://img32.imageshack.us/i/iis7auth.jpg/ I choose 'Local Service' as the service account in the R.S. configuration mgr http://img88.imageshack.us/i/rsconfigmgr.jpg/ The first problem is that there's always a pop-up when surfing to the website The second is that when I'm able to log in I get the message that the user doesn't have the appropriate permissions.   • Web browsing over SSH

    Hello, I have something of a difficult situation : our company has a webserver in a remote data center that's, at the moment, only accessible by SSH and the firewall is not easily modifiable because the techs at the data center are unreliable and unreachable lately (not my choice of data center, and switching is not an option at the moment). Are there any browsers or plugins out there that will let me browse over an SSH connection ? I can browse with links and lynx on the SSH command line, but that doesn't give me access to various functionality I need, and it's too hard to find things in the web application running on a Tomcat server on the box that I need access to. Does anybody have any suggestions ? We're already working on getting direct access to the web application by having the firewall opened up, but I need something better in the mean time.

  • SQL Server Backup problem when browsing to the directory

    I want to allow a group (eg. 'BackupManagers') who can only preform backup and restore operations on certain databases. When creating the BackupManagers user account I checked db_backupoperator. When the user logs in to create a backup they get an error message similar to the following when the select Tasks - Backup - Click on Add in the destiantion block - click on the "..." button to browse TITLE: Locate Database Files - MYSERVER\SQL2005 E:\MSSQL\Backup Cannot access the specified path or file on the server. Verify that you have the necessary security privileges and that the path or file exists. If you know that the service account can access a specific file, type in the full path for the file in the File Name control in the Locate dialog box. I have confirmed that the user has permissions to the folder. I have even created a share to this folder and had them access it through explorer. They are able to create and delete files within the folder. I have found that if they type in the path to the file instead of using the "..." button to browse the directory tree then they can create a backup file fine. Why is the browse button not working as expected? Thanks!

    I'm looking for a small linux install (<100Mb) that can just run a browser and ideally a media player. It's to fit in a spare recovery partition on my laptop and be a quick boot for non-work stuff when I'm on the road. I have used Puppy-linux and DSL before but they have lots of stuff I don't need. Is there something like these that just concentrates on running a browser in the way xbmc does for videos? ps. The size requirement was to fit in the existing 100Mb win7 recovery partition, but that can be resized. The main idea was something that booted very quickly without the 10min wait while windows does all the corporate stuff and realizes it isn't on the LAN - and could be shutdown instantly.

  • Browsing Bombs After a Short While

    After a reboot, my internet connection lasts perhaps a half hour or so before tanking. I can ping (by both IP and hostname), but I cannot browse. If I restart the "Network Store Interface Service", my connection comes back. What could be failing with that service or its dependent services that would kill my ability to browse? For some system info, I'm using a Sony Vaio with a fully-patched Windows Vista install and with an Intel 3945ABG wireless adapter.

  • Browsing Pictures on a Mac

    Hi. After many years using linux, I decided to buy a mac. Now my main problem is: how do I synchronize pictures within my linux machines and the mac? I have been using digikam in linux, and I like it because I can just browse the pictures directly from my directories (and it is easy for me to keep directories synchronized within mac and linux). I have been testing iphoto and aperture, which are quite nice but if use them, my understanding is that I have to import all the pictures into these softwares, and this doesn't seem to be the ideal solution for me. I tried picasa, but I don't find it as good as iphoto and aperture. On the other hand it allows me to browse directories, without having two copies of the same pictures. I didn't try lightroom yet, would that be a good solution? I would appreciate any suggestion on this. Thanks!

I have found many scripts and ideas to effect this but I require that it's not be a "drop-in" replacement, as in it must work globally for any possibly directory from one codebase.   • Windows 7 comments field missing when browsing network

    I have just purchased three Windows 7 Professional Dell 64-bit PCs for testing prior to upgrading our company’s 120+ PCs from Windows XP Professional. The setup is a standard domain with a Windows Server 2003 32-bit server. We name each PC XP1 to XP150 so that when users join or leave, I don’t have to rename the PC. We use the Description field to allocate the user’s name to each PC. We also have a share set up on each PC using the user’s name. When I browse the network using Windows Explorer in XP, I get a useful display. The left pane showing the PC number and the right pane showing NAME and COMMENTS So, for example I would see: XP01 Fred Bloggs (Each PC on a new row.) The right pane is my main tool for administering the network. I can easily see the PC number and the name of the user. However, in Windows 7, this seems to have been thrown out of the window and replaced with fields that I do not need and in my case always display the same info. "Name", "Category", "Workgroup", "Network Location" In my case the Name column gives the PC number (XP10) etc and all three other columns display identical useless information. So I can’t see who is using XP10. When I am in “help desk” mode, I would naturally ask the user’s name and use my remote desktop client to view their screen. The user isn’t aware of their PC name, so I am finding it impossible to match the user name with a PC number. Any ideas how to overcome this "by design" change to Windows 7?

    I am accessing a specific network path on another domain. It looks something like this: \\CoputerName.OtherDomain.in\c$\Inetpub\Testing\Website\ In under 30 seconds, I am automatically jumped back to \\CoputerName.OtherDomain.in\c$\Inetpub\Testing\ In less time it then jumps back to \\CoputerName.OtherDomain.in\c$\Inetpub\ Then it jumps back to c$ for its final resting place. \\CoputerName.OtherDomain.in\c$\ At first I thought this had to with a faulty keyboard, but this behaviour also occurs when the window does not have focus. It's as if windows thinks that the folder no longer exists (as in someone else has deleted or moved it). This behaviour is not specific to my PC either, it occurs from other machines in the office. Edit: It looks like this issue only occurs from other Windows 7 machines. There are no issues accessing the path from XP.

  • Slow browsing through IE on Windows Server 2012

    We've run into strange issue on the freshly installed servers. H/W: IBM server X3550 M4 7914; OS: Windows Server 2012 Std. Then we try to browse on the servers thru IE, not all sites are opened or it takes too long time to open the page, i.e. very few of them can be opened. Local FW are disabled. Servers are in a new subnet and traffic is allowed for it. VLAN is configured properly Another Windows Server 2012 host is running OK and Internet access works fine, but it is VM running on Hyper-V 2012. No proxy is used on the network. At the same time, if one tries to establish telnet session to any site on 80/443 ports - it does work. Google works as well. I've tried to configure single Qlogic adapter to check if the issue remains - it does. Teaming is configured with the means of QLogic, not by built-in functionality. IE Enhanced Security is disabled. IE settings were reset, more than once. Why would certain sites work while others not - Idk. I also tried to disable ecncapability and restart server - no luck netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled Any thoughts? UPD1 VMQ is disabled. Servers are not running Hyper-V. UPD2 Servers were rebuilt from scratch, got a mail a few mins ago. Issue still remains. Teaming is now configured with the means of Windows Server 2012.

    I used this guide to set up a Proftpd installation an Ubuntu 8.04 server... Works well, but the generic user ( userftp ) can run ls and is able to change to any Directory and browse freely on the server ..from the root / and upwards.. I added this line to etc/shells /bin/false in hopes that that would prevent this ... I really only want the userftp account to be able to upload to the generic /home/FTP-Shared directory, and be able to do nothing else on the server. How is this accomplished ... This is a headless Ubuntu box..and I am using CLI only .. no GUI admin tools

  • ftp connects but files aren't visible browsing

    Hello If this should be on that other site, please don't shoot me, as I can't remember the name or the url. I have an ftp account in Dreamweaver that connects to the remote site and appears to be uploading files as normal. But when I browse to the location I can't see any new files or changes to the index page. (I've uploaded index.php and connect.php). I'm getting a 404 page. I suspect the host directory is wrong, but looking at the file tree, I can't see the folder I'm supposed to be using, so I'm uploading to the apparent site root. Any guidance on this?

    I have updated to Windows 8 and got Internet Explorer 10, but I don't get the full screen mode, is just like another desktop app. All links on the Windows Store Apps (Bing, News...) redirect to the old desktop and open my default browser (chrome). I have set IE as default browser but that not solve the problem. I have been looking on the IE10 options but I don't see this option. How can I solve this? Maybe this info help: Windows version: Windows 8 Pro 64 bits Installed Browsers: Firefox, Chrome (default), Opera, IE10 I have seem other people with the same version and is working Edit: Is possible to have IE10 by default for windows 8 apps links and Chrome for Desktop?

    I find myself browsing internet all the time and most of the time unnecessarily. I do find some interesting stuffs, learn something new daily. But I think most of the time I browse internet without any purpose. When I finish my basic tasks such as checking email, reading couple of news and browsing stackoverflow, I either go to Digg or Stumble through different sites and I find myself lost. I code in C++ and was wondering what tools out there extend Emacs to support code browsing (finding a symbol etc), refactoring and code completion. I have heard of: cedet etags cscope But I'm so confused about what I need. Some places say that cedet provides all of the functionality but other places say that I need to invoke etags for cedet to work properly. Can someone clear this up for me?     I'm using WordPress as CMS for a site I'm developing. When I'm browsing posts, I can use Next/Previous links to walk between posts. I want to have the same thing on pages. Page A Page B Page C Page A should link to next sibling Page B. Page B should link to previous sibling Page A and next sibling Page C. Page C should link to previous sibling Page B. Is there any plugin you can recommend that generates these links? I know there are some plugins that do this, but I specifically want one that hooks into my current theme automatically. I know how to edit the theme, but that would brick my site whenever a theme update is available. I'm using the LightWord WordPress theme.
