  • capturing user IP address information for audit

    - by Samuel
We have a requirement to log IP address information of all users who use a certain web application based on JEE 5. What would be an appropriate sql data type for storing IPv4 or IPv6 addressses in the following supported databases (h2, mysql, oracle). There is also a need to filter activity from certain IP addresses. Should I just treat the representation as a string field (say varchar(32) to hold ipv4, ipv6 addresses)

  • Update multiple table column values using single query

    - by Dave Jarvis
How would you update data in multiple tables using a single query? In MySQL it would be: UPDATE party p LEFT JOIN party_name n ON p.party_id = n.party_id LEFT JOIN party_details d ON p.party_id = d.party_id LEFT JOIN incident_participant ip ON ip.party_id = p.party_id LEFT JOIN incident i ON ip.incident_id = i.incident_id SET p.employee_id = NULL, c.em_address = '[email protected]', c.ad_postal = 'x', n.first_name = 'x', n.last_name = 'x' WHERE i.confidential_dt IS NOT NULL What is the equivalent SQL statement using Oracle 11g? (Is ANSI SQL possible?) Thank you!

  • web applications tend to have a admin panel?

    - by ajsie
i wonder if large web applications like twitter and facebook have admin panels to handle CRUD for users, posts, images, themes and so on just like in CMS like drupal? so programmers have to code the front for the regular users AND back for the administrators? if i develop an web application is it recommended that i also code the admin part? or is it unnecessary since i can handle all directly in mysql and by editing php scripts directly? share your thoughts! thanks

  • microsoft access query speed...

    - by V.S.
Hello everyone! I am now writing a report about MS Access and I can't find any information about its performance speed in comparison to other alternatives such as Micorsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, etc... It's obvious that MS Access is going to be the slowest among the rest, but there is no solid documents confirming this other than forums threads, and I don't have the time and resources to do the research myself :( Hoping for your help, V.S.

  • Changing GORM table name

    - by Matthias Hryniszak
Hi I'm fighting to get the following mapping working in Grails 1.3.1 and MySQL: class Login { int id String email static mappings = { table 'my_table' id column: "Mgr_id" version: false } } No matter what I do the queries that are being issued refer to "schema.login" table instead of "schema.my_table". This is very frustrating... Can anyone answer why this might not be working?

  • ASP.NET - extracting from databases and pagination

    - by whitstone86
I've got basic page templates working in ASP.NET from master pages and can include pages in ASP.NET - however, I'm having difficulty extracting from pages and paginating them. This is the design structure (i.e. the model for my site) I'm trying to base it on: http://library.digiguide.com/lib/programmenextshowing/Medium-319648 I have an SQL Driver installed, my ODBC Advisor says it is MySQL ODBC Driver 5.1. How should I get this project to work, now I have the basics under way?

  • Difficulty creating classes and arrays of those classes C#

    - by Lucifer Fayte
    I'm trying to implement a Discrete Fourier Transformation algorithm for a project I'm doing in school. But creating a class is seeming to be difficult(which it shouldn't be). I'm using Visual Studio 2012. Basically I need a class called Complex to store the two values I get from a DFT; The real portion and the imaginary portion. This is what I have so far for that: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Threading.Tasks; namespace SoundEditor_V3 { public class Complex { public double real; public double im; public Complex() { real = 0; im = 0; } } } The problem is that it doesn't recognize the constructor as a constructor, now I'm just learning C#, but I looked it up online and this is how it's supposed to look apparently. It recognizes my constructor as a method. Why is that? Am I creating the class wrong? It's doing the same thing for my Fourier class as well. So each time I try to create a Fourier object and then use it's method...there is no such thing. example, I do this: Fourier fou = new Fourier(); fou.DFT(s, N, amp, 0); and it tells me fou is a 'field' but is used like a 'type' why is it saying that? Here is the code for my Fourier class as well: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Threading.Tasks; namespace SoundEditor_V3 { public class Fourier { //FOURIER //N = number of samples //s is the array of samples(data) //amp is the array where the complex result will be written to //start is the where in the array to start public void DFT(byte[] s, int N, ref Complex[] amp, int start) { Complex tem = new Complex(); int f; int t; for (f = 0; f < N; f++) { tem.real = 0; tem.im = 0; for (t = 0; t < N; t++) { tem.real += s[t + start] * Math.Cos(2 * Math.PI * t * f / N); tem.im -= s[t + start] * Math.Sin(2 * Math.PI * t * f / N); } amp[f].real = tem.real; amp[f].im = tem.im; } } //INVERSE FOURIER public void IDFT(Complex[] A, ref int[] s) { int N = A.Length; int t, f; double result; for (t = 0; t < N; t++) { result = 0; for (f = 0; f < N; f++) { result += A[f].real * Math.Cos(2 * Math.PI * t * f / N) - A[f].im * Math.Sin(2 * Math.PI * t * f / N); } s[t] = (int)Math.Round(result); } } } } I'm very much stuck at the moment, any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • SQL, problem with OrderBy / GroupBy

    - by Tristan
Hi, In my table I have two fields among others : article_id and *version* *example: article_id : 5 // version 1 aricle_id: 5 // version 2 article_id: 6 // version 1* What i want to do is to retrieve the latest version for each article id (in my example i want to retrieve the article 5 version 2 object and article 6 and version 1 object). The problem is that mysql is doing the groupBy instead of the OrderBy so it returns to me the FIRST version of each article, but i want the opposit. Do you have an idea please ?

  • Python shortcuts

    - by lyrae
Python is filled with little neat shortcuts. For example: self.data = map(lambda x: list(x), data) and (although not so pretty) tuple(t[0] for t in self.result if t[0] != 'mysql' and t[0] != 'information_schema') among countless others. In the irc channel, they said "too many to know them all". I think we should list some here, as i love using these shortcuts to shorten & refctor my code. I'm sure this would benefit many.
