  • Insert hex string value to sql server binary field is appending extra 0

    - by rotary_engine
Have a binary field and want to insert into this from a hex string: insert into binaryTable(binaryField) values(convert(varbinary(max), 0x0)) however when I run select the value is return with an extra 0 as 0x00 This extra 0 is causing a problem in another application, I dont want it. Interesting, is if I do a select on an existing value and it returns say 0x55 then inserting this same value using the above query will return a select of 0x055. How to stop the extra 0 being added?

  • Java library suggestions for implementing a custom web server

    - by dexter
I would like to create a web server that will serve/accept json files through REST. The JSON files being served will come from a database query and format the results into JSON. Any suggestions for a good java library. I have tried using Apache HTTPComponents. While maybe I can just create a servlet but I am not really allowed to install a servlet container in the server machine.

Hello, In a Java method, I'd like to use a Jersey client object to do a POST operation on a RESTful web service (also written using Jersey) but am not sure how to use the client to send the values that will be used as FormParam's on the server. I'm able to send query params just fine. Thanks in advance.

  • How to specify blob type in MS Access?

    - by Firat
How to specify blob type in MS Access? I have office 2007 installed. I am using jdbc, but this should not matter for the SQL query I am passing. Tried to pass a length to it, or FILE type, did not help. CREATE TABLE mytable ( [integer] INTEGER not null, [string] VARCHAR (255), [datetime] DATETIME, [boolean] BIT, [char] CHAR, [short] SHORT, [double] DOUBLE, [float] FLOAT, [long] LONG, [blob] BLOB, // does not work Primary Key ([integer]) )

  • Stateless NHibernate for querying

    - by JontyMC
We have a database that is updated via a background process. We are using NHibernate to query the data for display on the web UI, so we don't need change tracking or lazy-loading. If we mark all the mappings as mutable="false", is this the same as using a stateless session?

  • What was the most refreshingly honest non-technical comment you saw in the code?

    - by DVK
OK, so we all saw the lists of "funny" or "bad" comments. However, today, when maintaining an old stored proc, I stumbled upon a comment which I couldn't classify other than "refreshingly brutally honest", left by a previous maintainer around a really freakish (both performance and readability-wise) page-long query: -- Feel free to optimize this if you can understand what it means So, in the first (and hopefully only) poll type question in my history of Stack Overflow, I'd like to hear some other "refreshingly brutally honest" code comments you encountered or written.

  • SubSonic 3 LeftOuterJoin

    - by michaelpearce
I have read in this forum that left outer join syntax is not supported by subsonic in an answer to a question on the topic by "Apocatastasis". I have the same issue in that when I create a query using the .LeftOuterJoin the resulting sql has an inner join rather than a left outer join. Can someone please confirm that LeftOuterJoin is indeed not supported and, if that is the case, why is it included in the active record syntax? Thanks Michael

  • Good way to deal with comma seperated values in oracle

    - by dmitry
I am getting passed comma seperated values to a stored procedure in oracle. I want to treat these values as a table so that I can use them in a query like: select * from tabl_a where column_b in (<csv values passed in>) What is the best way to do this in 11g? Right now we are looping through these one by one and inserting them into a gtt which I think is ineffecient. Any pointers?

  • Is there any library to represent SQL queries as objects in Java code?

    - by Pregzt
    I was wondering if there is any library that can be used to represent SQL queries as objects in Java. In the code I have plenty of static variables of type java.lang.String that are hand written SQL queries. I would be looking for library having a nice fluent API that allows me to represent the queries as objects rather than strings. Example: Query q = select("DATE", "QUOTE") .from("STOCKMARKET") .where(eq("CORP", "?")) .orderBy("DATE", DESC);
