  • How to test for the appearance of a Toast message

    - by Adrian
Would anyone know how to test for the appearance of a Toast message on an Activity? I'm using code similar to what the OP posted on this question for testing my program flow from one activity to the next. I'd also like to be able to test for toast messages on particular activities.

  • ASP.NET Membership and Roles separation relationship

    - by Saif Khan
Hi, I have an ASP.NET project where I want to keep the membership (SQL Provider) in a separate database and the Roles/Profiles will be per application. Question What is the KEY that relates between the Membership database and the Roles/Profile database? Is it the UserID or UserName? I opened up the tables in separate expolrer and notice the UserID is different in the Membership database from that in the application Roles database.

  • AlarmManager triggers PendingIntent too soon

    - by Wezelkrozum
I've searched for 3 days now but didn't find a solution or similar problem/question anywhere else. Here is the deal: Trigger in 1 hour - works correct Trigger in 2 hours - Goes of in 1:23 Trigger in 1 day - Goes of in ~11:00 So why is the AlarmManager so unpredictable and always too soon? Or what am I doing wrong? And is there another way so that it could work correctly? This is the way I register my PendingIntent in the AlarmManager (stripped down): AlarmManager alarmManager = (AlarmManager)parent.getSystemService(ALARM_SERVICE); Intent myIntent = new Intent(parent, UpdateKlasRoostersService.class); PendingIntent pendingIntent = PendingIntent.getService(parent, 0, myIntent, PendingIntent.FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT); //Set startdate of PendingIntent so it triggers in 10 minutes Calendar start = Calendar.getInstance(); start.setTimeInMillis(SystemClock.elapsedRealtime()); start.add(Calendar.MINUTE, 10); //Set interval of PendingIntent so it triggers every day Integer interval = 1*24*60*60*1000; //Cancel any similar instances of this PendingIntent if already scheduled alarmManager.cancel(pendingIntent); //Schedule PendingIntent alarmManager.setRepeating(AlarmManager.ELAPSED_REALTIME_WAKEUP, start.getTimeInMillis(), interval, pendingIntent); //Old way I used to schedule a PendingIntent, didn't seem to work either //alarmManager.set(AlarmManager.RTC_WAKEUP, start.getTimeInMillis(), pendingIntent); It would be awesome if anyone has a solution. Thanks for any help! Update: 2 hours ago it worked to trigger it with an interval of 2 hours, but after that it triggered after 1:20 hours. It's getting really weird. I'll track the triggers down with a logfile and post it here tomorrow. Update: The PendingIntent is scheduled to run every 3 hours. From the log's second line it seems like an old scheduled PendingIntent is still running: [2012-5-3 2:15:42 519] Updating Klasroosters [2012-5-3 4:15:15 562] Updating Klasroosters [2012-5-3 5:15:42 749] Updating Klasroosters [2012-5-3 8:15:42 754] Updating Klasroosters [2012-5-3 11:15:42 522] Updating Klasroosters But, I'm sure I cancelled the scheduled PendingIntent's before I schedule a new one. And every PendingIntent isn't recreated in the same way, so it should be exactly the same. If not , this threads question isn't relevant anymore.

  • wpf in-page dialog.

    - by Erin
When I worked on web pages I used these a lot. While building a page out for WPF project the other day I ended up building a page that looked like it had an in-page dialog on it but it was the only thing on the page. My question here is. Has any one created such component that allows for easy creation of these kinds of dialogs.

  • USSD Retrieve IMEI Number

    - by Gustavo De Micheli
Hello, I'm very new at USSD developing. I have a question: Can I retrieve the IMEI number of a MS(Mobile Station) via an USSD PUSH Application? • Rails: vendor/gems or vendor/plugins?

    - by TheDeeno
I'm attempting to track my dependencies with git-submodules in my rails app. So far I've added submodules for things like, haml, shoulda, authlogic, etc to 'vendor/plugins'. I've seen indications that I should be using 'vendor/gems' instead though. Question, which directory is the appropriate place to put dependencies being tracked as submodules? Is the choice arbitrary? Thanks

You see message that something happened with your account when you enter site for first time after this event. How is this implemented? How do scripts know, that they have something new to show you?

  • Why might the Large Object Heap grow rather than throw an exception?

    - by Unsliced
In a previous question I asked possible programatic ways of maximising the largest block allocatable on the LOH. I'm still seeing the problems, but now I'm trying to get my head around why the LOH seems to grow and shrink in size, yet I'm still seeing OutOfMemoryExceptions that tally with what others have reported as being due to LOH fragmentation. Why might one call to, for example, StringBuilder.EnsureCapacity throw an OutOfMemoryException for me, but another call from somewhere else result in the LOH expanding in size (according to the performance counters, it is growing and shrinking)?

  • Check if NSURL is Local File

    - by golfromeo
This is a pretty simple question- how can I check if a NSURL is linking to a local file? I know, RTFM, but I checked the documentation and I don't seem to see any methods related to this. The only methods I did find were -isFileReferenceURL and -isFileURL, but I think these only check if the URL directly links to a file. note: I'm making an iPhone app, so by "local file" I mean a .html file stored in the project's resources. Thanks for any help in advance.

  • Pound symbol not displaying on web page

    - by Gublooo
Hello I have a mysql database table to store country name and currency symbol - the CHARSET has correctly set to UTF8. This is example data inserted into the table insert into country ( country_name, currency_name, currency_code, currency_symbol) values ('UK','Pounds','GBP','£'); When I look in the database - the pound symbol appears fine - but when I retrieve it from the database and display it on the website - a weird square symbol shows up with a question mark inside instead of the pound symbol. You can look at it here - http://www.didyouswipe.com/profile/view-profile/user_id/181 Please advice Thanks

I have a weird Java question: As we know: All Java classes extend java.lang.Object All Java classes cannot extend itself Then, java.lang.Object must extend java.lang.Object, which is itself, therefore, it should be impossible. How is Object implemented in Java?

  • Adjust OSX System Audio Volume in Python

    - by Benson
I would like to adjust the system audio volume in OSX from a python script. This question about implementing keyboard shortcuts tells me how to do it in applescript, but I'd really like to do it from my python script without using os.system, popen, etc. Ideally I'd like to ramp up the volume slowly with some python code like this: set_volume(0) for i in range(50): set_volume(i*2) time.sleep(1)

  • How can I get a list of licenses from intalled RPMs?

    - by Peter
We've been asked to list all the software and licenses used in our organization. Without deciding the value of this request, I'd like to get my Fedora laptop to answer the question easily. rpm -qa Gives me a list of packages, but no license data. My next step is to take that output and write a script to query each package's license. Anyone got an easier idea?

  • OPS4j repository alternative

    - by Paul Whelan
The OPS4J repository is down at present and I am trying to run pax-provision using a profile for spring-dm. My question is how do I tell maven to locate the profile information from a site other than ops4j.org. Is this possible? ideally I would like to cache all the packages from the repo especially the spring-dm details which seem never to be cached and are downloaded all the time making coding on the train and times when the site is down impossible. Thanks Paul
