  tar -xvf company_raw_2012-03-16.tgz --directory=/root/test --strip-components=4 I am using the following tar option to remove the leading directories and it is working as expected. --strip-components NUMBER strip NUMBER of leading components from file names before extraction It works only when I know that there are going to be 4 sub-directories. I have tar files and I do not know if there will be 2, 3 or 4 folders inside. How do I strip the entire path and extract files in the given "directory" path.

  Is it possible to redirect MySQL (tcp) traffic to multiple servers based on domain name alone? Our DNS is setup to point several sub-domain aliases to one proxy machine. (running haproxy and iptables). • Is it possible to change the Raid5 chunk size of an existing device?

  I have an existing raid5 device which I created using mdadm on Linux. When I created the device I set the chunk size to 64 but I would like to test the performance of various sizes but I don't want to have to rebuild my entire system to do so. If it is not possible to do it live then is it possible to do this by booting with a rescue disk? If you have a server to test from please do, and you'll notice that it does not connect instead returns - Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. From Firefox it works fine on the server. From Windows 7 it works fine in Internet Explorer. How can I get it to work in Windows 2003 Server using IE?

  We have a DNS server, and created a new CNAME: lets say login.server.domain now, if I do NSLOOkup from within our network I get back the config (this is a public address) but if I test from outside I get a not found error.. ** server can't find login.server.domain NXDOMAIN What could be happening? why is this only replicating within our network? I'm not talking about physical disk size of the database (saying 60 GB tells me nothing), I'm wondering how many rows.
