• java Swing Listeners: components listening at each others.

  Hi all, I want to code two JList (categories and items). When I click one category it should select all the items for that category and when I click on one item it should select its categories. So both JList will have a ListSelectionListener listening at each other and changing the selection. Should I fear about some a of "loop" ? Is there a way to tell that an Event has been consumed ? how do people manage that kind of situation ? Thanks

It works perfectly on my code, but I don't have any idea how to set the initial current screen to second or third screen. the method setCurrentScreen(int) doesn't affect anything and if I change the for loop inside the onLayout() method from for (int i = 0; i < count; i++) {...} into for (int i = 1; i < count; i++){...} It does starts in page two, but you can't go to page one. Any idea how to start on page two?

  Hi people, Is there a friendlier way to get an instance of FontMetrics than FontMetrics fm = Graphics.getFontMetrics(Font); I hate this way because of the following example: If you want to create in a game a menu and you want all the menuitems in the center of the screen you need fontmetrics. But, mostly, menuitems are clickable. So I create an array of Rectangles and all the rectangles fits around the items, so when the mouse is pressed, I can simply use for (int i = 0; i < rects.length; i++) if (rects[i].contains(mouseX, mouseY)) { ... } But to create the rects I also need FontMetrics for their coordinates. So this mean that I have to construct all my rectangles in the paint-method of my menu. So I want a way to get the FontMetrics so I can construct the Rectangles in a method called by the constructor. • efficiently compare two BitArrays of the same length

  How would I do this? I am trying to count when both arrays have the same value of TRUE/1 at the same index. As you can see, my code has multiple bitarrays and is looping through each one and comparing them with a comparisonArray with another loop. It doesn't seem to be very efficient and I need it to be. foreach (bitArrayTuple in bitarryList) { for (int i = 0; i < arrayLength; i++) if (bArrayTuple.Item2[i] && comparisonArray[i]) bitArrayTuple.Item1++; } where Item1 is the count and Item2 is a bitarray.

• .htaccess wildcard problem

  I've come across a problem with an .htaccess rule I can't sort out. It works on my MAMP stack and it works on 3 other servers, but it won't work on a particular server and keeps giving me a "500 error with an additional 302 error". It's the wildcard that's throwing it and from Google research it says it may be because of an infinite loop, but it works on other servers just fine. The site in question is being developed in a sub-directory, but then again, so have the other sites: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^$ public/ [L] RewriteRule (.*) public/$1 [L] /public has it's own .htaccess file that is: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?url=$1 [PT,L] Any suggestions as mod_rewrite's not my specialty and I can't seem to fix this.2

• VBA for filtering columns

  I have a big database-like sheet, first row contains headers. I would like a subset of rows of this table based on column values. Two issues: 1) VBA-wise I would like to loop through the columns, when the values for all necessary columns all match, copy the entire row into a new sheet. 2) The subset of rows is based on a list. This should be the first column to be looped through. For example I want all rows where the value in column A is equal to one of the values in my list. Is there any possibility to autofilter strings based on a list (column) of strings? EDIT Thanks to @Doug Glancy the autofiltering works now, so I've removed my (horrible) code and issue 1 is solved.

Question: What's would be a good way to solve this problem? (indexing method returns based on the active language) What I have tried: I created a function that runs a loop over every available language (from settings) appending any translation to a list, evaluating this against the query, pre search. If any colors are matched it converts them backwards into their numeric representation to evaluate against obj.color, but this feels wrong.

  Hey! I have a problem I know how I would solve easily developing under eclipse - but not so easily developing under net beans. I want to create a custom swing widget - which I can instantiate by code as many as I need and attach them to my main panel. I have developed the rest of the GUI using the GUIBuilder. The problem is - im not entirely sure how to do this.   I'm trying to pass 3 parameter to a script, where the 3rd parameter $_GET['value3'] is supposed to be an array $_GET['value1'] $_GET['value2'] $_GET['value3'] //an array of items I'm calling the script like this: (notice my syntax for value3, I'm not sure it's correct) http://localhost/test.php?value1=test1&value2=test2&value3=[the, array, values] I then use a foreach to hopefully loop through the third parameter value3 which is the array //process the first input $_GET['value1'] //process the second input $_GET['value2'] //process the third input $_GET['value3'] which is the array foreach($_GET['value3'] as $arrayitem){ echo $arrayitem; } but I get the error Invalid argument supplied for foreach() I'm not sure if my methodology is correct.   someone wrote a nice framework for developing html5 3d engine. It's GPL/MIT licensed. Do you think it's a good idea to build upon it, and then repackage it and sell it as a service? For eg the framework lets you build 3d environments. so I build on it, maybe add a few features like characters and music in the environment, and turn it into an online game. Is it a feasible idea? Of course, part of the GPL license says that all source code has to be visible to end users. Assuming the web is a winner take all market based on first mover advantage, why care about hiding the source code? It's the product that's being sold that counts.

  I am writing a test to verify something. This is not production code, just verification code. So I would appreciate it if the specific question was answered. I have code that uses indices and vertices to draw a set of triangles in the shape of a grid. All the vertices are drawn using glDrawElements(). Now for each vertex I will set its corresponding Texture Coordinates to 0 or 1 for each set of triangles that form a square in the grid. Basically I want to draw a collage of random textures in each one of the "squares" (consisting of two triangles). I can do this using the glBegin() and glEnd() method calls inside a for loop using the fixed functional pipeline, but I would like to know how to do this using Vertex Arrays.

• Force blocking read after EAGAIN?

  I have a file descriptor that is open for reading which may be non-blocking. What I need to do is simply read all data until reaching EOF and write that data to a writable file descriptor. As the process that performs this copying is not "aware" of anything that is going on around it, I don't think that I can do something useful while waiting for data, and I don't want to use a while loop (while errno is not EAGAIN) because I think that it would be wasteful. Is there a way to block or otherwise suspend execution of the copying process until data becomes available?

• Transform shape built of contour splines to simple polygons

  I've dumped glyphs from truetype file so I can play with them. They have shape contours that consist from quadratic bezier curves and lines. I want to output triangles for such shapes so I can visualize them for the user. Traditionally I might use libfreetype or scan-rasterise this kind of contours. But I want to produce extruded 3D meshes from the fonts and make other distortions with them. So, how to polygonise shapes consisting from quadratic bezier curves and lines? There's many contours that form the shape together. Some contours are additive and others are subtractive. The contours are never open. They form a loop. (Actually, I get only contour vertices from ttf glyphs, those vertices define whether they are part of the curve or not. Even though it is easy to decompose these into bezier curves and lines, knowing the data is represented this way may be helpful for polygonizing the contours to triangles)

  Hy, I was thinking that all my website will have use of cells, using the known plugin cell for rails, so this is my idea: A table that contains 3 fields: id, view_name and layout. the layout will be a serialized hash. When a request is made, the layout field is requested and then in the view, default layout, will be unserialized the layout var, that looks like this: @layout[:sidecol][:gallery] = {... some params for it...}; @layout[:maincol][:comments] = {..params...}; In the <% #ruby code to render the cells in the @layout[:sidecol] % will be some ruby code that will loop over the @layout[:sidecol] and render all cells in it. the same occurs in the maincol div. What do you think? Positive in my opinion: More modular controller is used only for post easy change of structure easier to implement some kind of traking to see diferences on what layout is better or not.   Hello, I have a matrix in a txt file and I want to load the matrix based on my input of number of rows and columns For example, I have a 5 by 5 matrix in the file. I want to extract a 3 by 3 matrix, how can I do that ? Though I already remove all the caching and delte the history and temp files. This seems very strange to me .It works fine on all the machine excpt one. Is there any elegant way how to solve this? Of course I can use for loop, but maybe there's something nicer :)

Stuff I'd like to be able to do (eventually): Decode and play videos in realtime to a QT widget (the QT part isn't a problem) Overlay text and images on the video (in realtime) Loop video Cross-fade from one video to another (in realtime) Some kind of DVD functionality LIVE sources? (i.e. webcam, stream, etc.) So far I've looked at (and consider helpful) the following resources: FFMPEG and SDL Tutorial by Dranger (extremely helpful) StackOverflow: ffmpeg C API documentation/tutorial (not a duplicate, btw) Sample code bundled with FFMPEG libraries (I'll try and update this list with anything helpful below) Thanks for any help... Also: Operating System is Windows (but maybe one day cross-platform) Also 2: Resources using alternatives are welcome too... i.e. DirectShow, VFW, etc.

On a page loaded with jQuery, I open FireBug Lite (via bookmarket) and I enter the following: image = $('<img src="http://example.com/boofar.jpg" border="12" width="95" height="95" title="Booya">')[0]; and the result echoed is: <img title="Booya" contentEditable="inherit" start="fileopen" loop="1" src="http://example.com/boofar.jpg" border="12"> Where are the width and height attributes? Furthermore, image.width; and image.attributes.width.value; return 0 and "0". Seen this with both jQuery 1.2.6 as well as 1.4.2. It does the right thing in IE8 and FF. Any ideas where those attributes went? Very annoying....

  I've got a moderately uncustomized UITableView in my application that presents an array of up to 6 peers for a networking game. When no peers are found the numberOfRowsInSection is 0, so when it loads up, there's no rows in the table: - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { return 0; } Trouble is, the height of each cell is not adjusted to match heightForRowAtIndexPath unless the numberOfRowsInSection is 0. I hard-coded in "1" for this and the height is adjusted. - (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { return kTableRowHeight; } Can anyone tell me why this is? Will once the data that is being presented is longer than "0" length, will the height of the table cells jump to the correct height?
