  • How can I search for a string in a .txt file for NSScanner?

    - by pixelbitapps
    I currently have the following code to get a certain piece of code from the UIWebView: NSURL *requestTimetableURL = [NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.dhsb.org/index.phtml?d=201435"]; NSLog(@"Loaded Timetable"); NSError *error; NSString *page = [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL:requestTimetableURL encoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding error:&error]; [webView loadHTMLString:page baseURL:requestTimetableURL]; NSString* Period1; NSScanner *htmlScanner = [NSScanner scannerWithString:page]; [htmlScanner scanUpToString:@"<P align=center><STRONG><FONT color=#c00000>" intoString:NULL]; [htmlScanner scanString:@"<P align=center><STRONG><FONT color=#c00000>" intoString:NULL]; [htmlScanner scanUpToString:@"</FONT>" intoString:&Period1]; How can I scan a .txt file (which contains the string like above) for the code? E.G. [htmlScanner scanUpToString:teststring intoString:NULL]; Thanks!

  • How does Core Data determine if an NSObjects data can be dropped?

    - by Kevin
    In the app I am working on now I was storing about 500 images in Core Data. I have since pulled those images out and store them in the file system now, but in the process I found that the app would crash on the device if I had an array of 500 objects with image data in them. An array with 500 object ids with the image data in those objects worked fine. The 500 objects without the image data also worked fine. I found that I got the best performance with both an array of object ids and image data stored on the filesystem instead of in core data. The conclusion I came to was that if I had an object in an array that told Core Data I was "using" that object and Core Data would hold on to the data. Is this correct?

  • How can I detect if

    - by Suzie
    Is there a way to detect just 2 distinct touches? I just want to track the touches for my two buttons, which is a sprite, but whenever I have another touch other than my first two touches, it affects my touch with my button. Is there a way to get rid of that third touch? I wish you could help me with this problem.Thank You!

  • UIActionSheet Cancel button keeps crashing my app

    - by user337174
    I am really puzzeled by this one. I have set up two UIActionSheets in my application. They work perfectly fine until you use the cancel button in the UIActionSheets. When i navigate away from the page the UIAactionSheet returns too it crashes my app. Does anyone have any ideas as too why? -(IBAction) phoneButtonClicked:(id)sender { // open a dialog with just an OK button phoneActionSheet = [[UIActionSheet alloc] initWithTitle:nil delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"Cancel" destructiveButtonTitle:nil otherButtonTitles:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"Phone: %@",phone],nil]; phoneActionSheet.actionSheetStyle = UIActionSheetStyleDefault; [phoneActionSheet showInView:self.view]; // show from our table view (pops up in the middle of the table) [phoneActionSheet release]; } -(void)actionSheet:(UIActionSheet *)actionSheet clickedButtonAtIndex:(NSInteger)buttonIndex { if (actionSheet == phoneActionSheet) { if(buttonIndex == 0){ NSString *callPhone = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"tel:%@",phone]; NSLog(@"Calling: %@", callPhone); [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:callPhone]]; } } }

  • Black Corners On Grouped UITableViewCells Only After Navigation Pops

    - by coneybeare
    I am not graphics expert but I somehow managed to make some good looking custom grouped UITableViewCells by setting the background view to a backgroundView with some CG code. In all SDK's up to 3.1.3 (maybe 3.2... I haven't tested on the iPad) this was working great, but I think a more recent SDK has introduced a change in the way graphics are cached offscreen. Upon first render, everything is great: The drawing is fine and the corners are transparent. If I push a couple of view controllers on the navigation stack and come back, there are now black corners that appear in the views: BEFORE && AFTER I have tons of code, most of which is written up here. I have tried tweaking to the best of my ability, looking at the docs for applicable changes, but after at least 8 hours in I still cannot find what might cause this. I have tried setting every view I can think of to be backgroundColor=clearColor and opaque=NO What else am I missing? Any debugging tips? UPDATE: I have some debug code in viewDidAppear that prints the backgroundColor and class description of all the subviews. - (void)debugView:(UIView *)view { DebugLog(@"%@ - %@", view.backgroundColor, [[view class] description]); for (UIView* child in view.subviews) { [self debugView:child]; } } - (void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewDidAppear:animated]; [DownloadController.networkQueue setSuspended:NO]; for (TTTableViewCell *cell in [self.tableView visibleCells]) { [cell debugView:cell]; } } With this code, I inspect the backgroundColor settings of the cell views on first load, when it is fine, and then again after coming back. There are some differences, but all the colors are still set to be clear. This leads me to believe the issue is underneath the UITableViewCell. UPDATE 2: I have created a simple sample application to highlight the problem here

  • Knowing which annotation is selected and accessing properties of it.

    - by kevin Mendoza
    So far my program can display a database of custom annotation views. Eventually I want my program to be able to display extra information after a button on the annotation bubble is clicked. Each element in the database has a unique entry Number, so I thought it would be a good idea to add this entry number as a property of the custom annotation. The problem I am having is that after the button is clicked and the program switches to a new view I am unable to retrieve the entry number of the annotation I selected. Below is the code that assigns the entry Number property to the annotation: for (id mine in mines) { workingCoordinate.latitude = [[mine latitudeInitial] doubleValue]; workingCoordinate.longitude = [[mine longitudeInitial] doubleValue]; iProspectAnnotation *tempMine = [[iProspectAnnotation alloc] initWithCoordinate:workingCoordinate]; [tempMine setTitle:[mine mineName]]; [tempMine setAnnotationEntryNumber:[mine entryNumber]]; } [mines dealloc]; When the button on an annotation is selected, this is the code that initializes the new view: - (void)mapView:(MKMapView *)mapView annotationView:(MKAnnotationView *)view calloutAccessoryControlTapped:(UIControl *)control { mineInformationController *controller = [[mineInformationController alloc] initWithNibName:@"mineInformationController" bundle:nil]; controller.modalTransitionStyle = UIModalTransitionStyleCrossDissolve; [self presentModalViewController:controller animated:YES]; [controller release]; } and lastly is my attempt at retrieving the entryNumber property from the new view so that I can compare it to the mines database and retrieve more information on the array element. iProspectFresno_LiteAppDelegate *appDelegate = (iProspectFresno_LiteAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; NSMutableArray* mines = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithArray:(NSMutableArray *)appDelegate.mines]; for(id mine in mines) { if ([[mine entryNumber] isEqualToNumber: /*the entry Number of the selected annotation*/]) { /* display the information in the mine object */ } } So how do I access this entry number property in this new view controller?

  • Custom nib UITableViewCell height

    - by Chuck
    I've created a custom UITableViewCell in IB, linked it to the root view controller's property for it, and set it up in CellForRowAtIndexPath. But the height of my drawn cells doesn't match what I setup in IB, advice? Here's some screenshots and the code. - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *AddressCellIdentifier = @"AddressCellIdent"; UITableViewCell *thisCell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:AddressCellIdentifier]; if (thisCell == nil) { [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"AddressCell" owner:self options:nil]; thisCell = addressCell; self.addressCell = nil; } return thisCell ; } addressCell is a @property (nonatomic, assign) IBOutlet UITableViewCell *addressCell;, and is linked up in IB to the file's owner (the table view controller). I'm using the example from Apple's table view programming guide.

  • Ttstyledtextlabel does not draw properly when text property is assigned multiple times

    - by user210504
    I have A ttstyledtextlabel in my uitableview cell. It has got some web URLs for images which are being rendered. But since images take some time to download i reload the cell after sometime to render the images if they have been downloaded. The problem I am facing is that during subsequent assignment of text if the size of the label changes, happens when images have been successfully loaded the label does not render properly but rather blanks out. But I see the proper label when is scroll and come back to the cell again. Anyone faced this issue or simply when the following line is executed multiple times, the Styled Label goes blank StyledView.text = [TTStyledText textFromXHTML:[self getStyledText] lineBreaks:YES URLs:YES];

  • Error when passing data between views

    - by Kristoffer Bilek
    I'm using a plist (array of dictionaries) to populate a tableview. Now, when a cell i pressed, I want to pass the reprecented dictionary to the detail view with a segue. It's working properly to fill the tableview, but how do I send the same value to the detail view? This is my try: #import "WinesViewController.h" #import "WineObject.h" #import "WineCell.h" #import "WinesDetailViewController.h" @interface WinesViewController () @end @implementation WinesViewController - (id)initWithStyle:(UITableViewStyle)style { self = [super initWithStyle:style]; if (self) { // Custom initialization } return self; } - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; } - (void)viewDidUnload { [super viewDidUnload]; } - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { return (interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait); } #pragma mark - Table view data source - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { wine = [[WineObject alloc] initWithLibraryName:@"Wine"]; self.title = @"Vinene"; [self.tableView deselectRowAtIndexPath:[self.tableView indexPathForSelectedRow] animated:YES]; } - (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { // Return the number of sections. return 1; } - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { // Return the number of rows in the section. return [wine libraryCount]; } - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"wineCell"; WineCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; // Configure the cell... cell.nameLabel.text = [[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Name"]; cell.districtLabel.text = [[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"District"]; cell.countryLabel.text = [[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Country"]; cell.bottleImageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:[[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Image"]]; cell.flagImageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:[[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Flag"]]; cell.fyldeImageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:[[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Fylde"]]; cell.friskhetImageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:[[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Friskhet"]]; cell.garvesyreImageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:[[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Garvesyre"]]; return cell; } #pragma mark - Table view delegate - (void)prepareForSegue:(UIStoryboardSegue *)segue sender:(id)sender { if ([[segue identifier] isEqualToString:@"DetailSegue"]) { NSIndexPath *selectedRowIndex = [self.tableView indexPathForSelectedRow]; WinesDetailViewController *winesdetailViewController = [segue destinationViewController]; //Here comes the error line: winesdetailViewController.winedetailName = [wine objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Name"]; } } I get one error for: winesdetailViewController.winedetailName = [wine objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Name"]; Use of undeclaired identifier: indexPath. did you mean NSIndexPath? I think I've missed something important here..

  • How to find the only UILabel in a view and hide it?

    - by tarnfeld
    I am adding a UILabel as a subview to a UIView and sometime later I want to hide it. It is assigned to a variable but I don't think setting the variables property Hidden after it's been added to the view will work (well it doesn't seem to anyway). Is there a way to loop through the subviews in a view and then find the one that has a specific tag or is of type UILabel that I could then remove?

  • Change the contents of a UITableView via a swipe?

    - by Mark
    Im currently using a UITableView like any other, and I am researching into the ability to perform a swipe gesture on the screen, which will then shift the contents of the visible table over to display new content for example: swiping right-to-left on the screen would change (via animation) the contents within each of the cells on screen to show new data. What I can do is detect a swipe on the cells, or perhaps on the UITableViewController, but what I dont know how to do two fold: 1) Change data in all cells (could you have a set of hidden views within a custom table cell that animate in and out of each cell per swipe?) 2) How can you do this to all cells? Thanks a lot Mark

  • Trick to getting initWithNibFile to be invoked?

    - by PhazeZero
    I've implemented a View Controller, and I'm trying to do some very basic initialization in initWithNibFile...which I understand to be the designated initializer for View Controller objects. I've tried to put breakpoints on the code, and have put very simple NSLog statements into it as well. Regardless...I'm not seeing it be executed (and the object i'm attempting to alloc/init inside the function is also not being allocated - so I'm about 99% sure I'm not hitting the code. Is there something I need to do elsewhere to cause this method to be invoked? I'm getting a clean build, no warnings or errors. And the app successfully loads up the View, and I can invoke a ButtonClick method I've coded and connected to this same View Controller. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TC

  • how to capture the clicked url on UIWebView

    - by user262325
    Hello everyone I hope to capture the clicked url on an UIWebView - (BOOL)webView:(UIWebView *)webView shouldStartLoadWithRequest:(NSURLRequest *)request navigationType:(UIWebViewNavigationType)navigationType { if (navigationType == UIWebViewNavigationTypeLinkClicked) { NSURL *URL = [request URL]; NSString *s=[URL absoluteString]; } but I noticed that this URL is not the url which is clicked and will be displayed on UIWebView, normally it is the url of current web page display on UIWebView. Welcome any comment Thanks interdev

  • Loading local html pages in UIWebView

    - by mwt
    I'm working with a UIWebView loading local (i.e. in the source bundle) html pages, ala Apple's Transweb example. Loading the first page is trivial. However, I have added a second html page and linked to it from the first. Attempting to link to a second page doesn't seem to work. Anyone know how to make this work? Thanks.
