  • Zend Framework REST service HTTP status code problem

    - by Baversjo
I'm trying to create a REST service in zend framework. I'm using zend server. Here's my code: class ArticleController extends Zend_Rest_Controller { public function postAction() { //Create the acticle and return it $data = array("foo" => 0, "boo" => 11); $this->getResponse()->setHttpResponseCode(201); $this->_helper->json($data); } The HTTP response returns the appropriate headers and JSON data but under the JSON data there's an apache error document. The only way I can think of to remove the appended error document is to add the following in my httpd.conf file: ErrorDocument 201 " " But what's the "corrent" way of doing this?

  • how to write re-usable views in django?

    - by rz
These are the techniques that I use regularly to make my views reusable: take the template_name as an argument with a default take an optional extra_context which defaults to empty {} right before the template is rendered the context is updated with the extra_context for further re-usability, call any callable in extra_context.values() whenever the view deals with a queryset, there is a queryset argument with a default whenever the view needs a particular object from the ORM, it attempts to fetch it using any "id" parameter in several ways (e.g. as a slug, as a database id) (this may be a bad practice...) First, Should I add anything to my list? Should I remove anything from my list? The items accommodates a large number of cases. However, whenever an app extends a model of another in some way (e.g. adding a field or changing the behavior in some way) I end up writing my own views and only reusing the model. Is this normal?

  • Java - Collections.binarySearch with PriorityQueue?

    - by msr
Hello, Can I use Collections.binarySearch() method to search elements in a PriorityQueue? Otherwise, how can I apply search algorithms to a PriorityQueue? I have this (class Evento implements Comparable): public class PriorityQueueCAP extends PriorityQueue<Evento>{ // (...) public void removeEventos(Evento evento){ Collections.binarySearch(this, evento); // ERROR! } } And I got this error: "The method binarySearch(List, T) in the type Collections is not applicable for the arguments (PriorityQueueCAP, Evento)" Why? Thanks in advance!

  • SOAP to XML conversion in PHP

    - by Jonah
I need to generate the following XML with SOAP: ... <InternationalShippingServiceOption> <ShippingService>StandardInternational</ShippingService> <ShippingServiceCost currencyID="USD">39.99</ShippingServiceCost> <ShippingServicePriority>1</ShippingServicePriority> <ShipToLocation>CA</ShipToLocation> </InternationalShippingServiceOption> ... So I have the following SOAP array in PHP to do this: $params = array( 'InternationalShippingServiceOption' => array( 'ShippingService'=>'StandardInternational', 'ShippingServiceCost'=>39.99, 'ShippingServicePriority'=>1, 'ShipToLocation'=>'CA', ) ) $client = new eBaySOAP($session); //eBaySOAP extends SoapClient $results = $client->AddItem($params); Everything works great, except I am not generating the currencyID="USD" attribute in the ShippingServiceCost tag in the XML. How do I do this?

  • Ambiguous reference when getter/setter have different visibilities

    - by Warren Seine
The following code raises an ambiguous reference to value at compile time: import flash.display.Sprite; public class Main extends Sprite { private var _value : Number = 0.; public function get value() : Number { return _value; } private function set value(v : Number) : void { _value = v; } public function Main() : void { value = 42.; } } I suspect some kind of bug in the compiler, though I didn't actually read the ECMA standard. Before someone asks those questions: Private setters do make sense. The ambiguity also exists with custom namespaces (which is the problem I'm facing).

  • HTML overlay height to cover entire visible page

    - by Evgeny
I have a web page that loads some stuff using AJAX. I want to display an overlay with a loading indicator while the loading is in progress, so that the user cannot interact with most of the page - except the menu at the top. I'm using jQuery and the jQuery BlockUI plugin to do this. I call $(element).block() and it works fine, but the overlay only extends as far down as the current content of my page. As more content is loaded and added to the page the overlay moves down with it and this looks a bit ugly. Ideally I'd like it to cover the entire visible area of the page right from the start. A simple hack for doing this would be to set a large height value for the overlay, like this: $(myElement).block({ overlayCSS: { height: '10000px' } }); ... but this creates a scrollbar! How do I avoid this and make it just the right height to cover the visible page, but not enlarge it?

  • Object Slicing, Is it advantage ?

    - by harigm
Object slicing is some thing that object looses some of its attributes or functions when a child class is assigned to base class. Some thing like Class A{ } Class B extends A{ } Class SomeClass{ A a = new A(); B b = new B(); // Some where if might happen like this */ a = b; (Object slicing happens) } Do we say Object slicing is any beneficial in any ways? If yes, can any one please tell me how object slicing be a helpful in development and where it might be helpful?

  • ListView adapter data change without ListView being notified

    - by brockoli
    I've written a ListActivity that has a custom list adapter. The list is being updated from a ContentProvider when onCreate is run. I also have a service that gets started when I run the app and it first updates the ContentProvider, then sends a Broadcast that the content has been updated. My ListActivity recieves the broadcast and tries to update my ListView. My problem is, I'm getting intermittent errors about the ListView adapter data changing without the ListView being notified. I call the notifyDataSetChanged() method on my list adapter right after I update it. What it seems like is happening is the list is still in the process of being updated after first call in onCreate when it recieves the broadcast from the service to update, so it tries to update my ListView before it's finished updating from it's first run. Does this make sense? Here is some of my code. NOTE: The service is working properly, it gets new data and updates my ContentProvider, and I do get the broadcast in my activity when it is updated. @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); ctx = this; getPrefs(); setContentView(R.layout.main); // Setup preference listener preferences = PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences(this); preferences.registerOnSharedPreferenceChangeListener(listener); // Setup report list adapter ListView nzbLv = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.report_list); nzbla = new NZBReportListAdaptor(ctx); getReports(); nzbla.setListItems(report_list); nzbLv.setAdapter(nzbla); // Broadcast receiver to get notification from NZBService to update ReportList registerReceiver(receiver, new IntentFilter(NZBService.BROADCAST_ACTION)); startService(new Intent(ctx, NZBService.class)); } @Override public void onResume() { super.onResume(); timerHandler.resume(); new updateSabQueue().execute(); //updateList(); } @Override public void onPause() { super.onPause(); timerHandler.pause(); unregisterReceiver(receiver); } private BroadcastReceiver receiver = new BroadcastReceiver() { public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { Toast.makeText(ctx, "NZBService broadcast recieved", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); updateReportList(); } }; private void updateReportList() { new updateReportList().execute(); } private class updateReportList extends AsyncTask<Void, Void, Boolean> { /* (non-Javadoc) * @see android.os.AsyncTask#onPreExecute() * Show progress dialog */ protected void onPreExecute() { } /* (non-Javadoc) * @see android.os.AsyncTask#doInBackground(Params[]) * Get new articles from the internet */ protected Boolean doInBackground(Void...unused) { getReports(); return true; } /** * On post execute. * Close the progress dialog */ @Override protected void onPostExecute(Boolean updated) { if (updated) { Log.d(TAG, "NZB report list adapter updated"); synchronized(this) { nzbla.setListItems(report_list); } Log.d(TAG, "NZB report list notified of change"); nzbla.notifyDataSetChanged(); } } } Now that this question is answered, I will post my updated code in an effort to help others who might come across it. @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); ctx = this; getPrefs(); setContentView(R.layout.main); // Setup preference listener preferences = PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences(this); preferences.registerOnSharedPreferenceChangeListener(listener); // Setup report list adapter ListView nzbLv = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.report_list); nzbla = new NZBReportListAdaptor(ctx); report_list.addAll(getReports()); nzbla.setListItems(report_list); nzbLv.setAdapter(nzbla); // Broadcast receiver to get notification from NZBService to update ReportList registerReceiver(receiver, new IntentFilter(NZBService.BROADCAST_ACTION)); startService(new Intent(ctx, NZBService.class)); } private class updateReportList extends AsyncTask<Void, Void, ArrayList<Report>> { /* (non-Javadoc) * @see android.os.AsyncTask#onPreExecute() * Show progress dialog */ protected void onPreExecute() { } /* (non-Javadoc) * @see android.os.AsyncTask#doInBackground(Params[]) * Get new articles from the internet */ protected ArrayList<Report> doInBackground(Void...unused) { return getReports(); } /** * On post execute. * Close the progress dialog */ @Override protected void onPostExecute(ArrayList<Report> updated) { nzbla.setListItems(updated); nzbla.notifyDataSetChanged(); } } private ArrayList<Report> getReports() { ArrayList<Report> reports = new ArrayList<Report>(); ContentResolver r = getContentResolver(); Cursor c = r.query(NZBReportProvider.CONTENT_URI, null, null, null, NZBReportProvider.ARTICLE_KEY_ROWID + " DESC"); startManagingCursor(c); Log.d(TAG, "NZBReport cursor.getCount=" + c.getCount()); int title = c.getColumnIndex(NZBReportProvider.ARTICLE_KEY_TITLE); int desc = c.getColumnIndex(NZBReportProvider.ARTICLE_KEY_DESCRIPTION); int cat = c.getColumnIndex(NZBReportProvider.ARTICLE_KEY_CAT); int size = c.getColumnIndex(NZBReportProvider.ARTICLE_KEY_SIZE); int link = c.getColumnIndex(NZBReportProvider.ARTICLE_KEY_LINK); int catid = c.getColumnIndex(NZBReportProvider.ARTICLE_KEY_CATID); int date = c.getColumnIndex(NZBReportProvider.ARTICLE_KEY_DATE_ADDED); int group = c.getColumnIndex(NZBReportProvider.ARTICLE_KEY_GROUP); if (c.getCount() > 0) { c.moveToFirst(); do { URL url = null; try { url = new URL(c.getString(link)); } catch (MalformedURLException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } reports.add(new Report(c.getString(title), url, c.getString(desc), c.getString(cat), c.getString(date), c.getString(size), c.getInt(catid), c.getString(group))); } while (c.moveToNext()); } return reports; }

  • android custom map marker bounds

    - by max4ever
Hello i am using a resized version of this marker( http://www.clker.com/clipart-orange-pin-4.html ) for showing markers in google maps on android. The problem is i don't know how to make the marker point match the coordinates. The arrow point is at about 1/5 of the Width coordinates and MAX of the Height. here is my class public class GestionaleItemizedOverlay extends com.google.android.maps.ItemizedOverlay { public GestionaleItemizedOverlay(Drawable defaultMarker, Context context) { //super(boundCenterBottom(defaultMarker)); super(boundCenter(defaultMarker)); this.mContext = context; } ... And this this.marker_poi = this.getContext().getResources().getDrawable(R.drawable.marker); this.marker_poi.setBounds(this.marker_poi.getIntrinsicWidth() / 2, this.marker_poi.getIntrinsicHeight(), this.marker_poi.getIntrinsicWidth() / 2, 0); new GestionaleItemizedOverlay(this.poi, this.context); Do i need to setBounds on the marker before passing it to the constructor? and why does super(defaultMarker) makes all the markers not to show ?

  • Fixtures and inheritance in Symfony

    - by Tere
Hi! I have a database schema in Symfony like this: Persona: actAs: { Timestampable: ~ } columns: primer_nombre: { type: string(255), notnull: true } segundo_nombre: { type: string(255) } apellido: { type: string(255), notnull: true } rut: { type: string(255) } email: { type: string(255) } email2: { type: string(255) } direccion: { type: string(400) } ciudad: { type: string(255) } region: { type: string(255) } pais: { type: string(255) } telefono: { type: string(255) } telefono2: { type: string(255) } fecha_nacimiento: { type: date } Alumno: inheritance: type: concrete extends: Persona columns: comentario: { type: string(255) } estado_pago: { type: string(255) } Alumno_Beca: columns: persona_id: { type: integer, primary: true } beca_id: { type: integer, primary: true } relations: Alumno: { onDelete: CASCADE, local: persona_id, foreign: id } Beca: { onDelete: CASCADE, local: beca_id, foreign: id } Beca: columns: nombre: { type: string(255) } monto: { type: double } porcentaje: { type: double } descripcion: { type: string(5000) } As you see, "alumno" has a concrete inheritance from "persona". Now I'm trying to create fixtures for this two tables, and I can't make Doctrine to load them. It gives me this error: SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1452 Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails (eat/alumno__beca, CONSTRAINT alumno__beca_persona_id_alumno_id FOREIGN KEY (persona_id) REFERENCES alumno (id) ON DELETE CASCADE) Does someone know how to write a fixture for a table inherited from another? Thanks!

  • Highlight field in source code pane of Findbugs UI

    - by Ryan Fernandes
I'm using a class that extends BytecodeScanningDetector to check for some problematic fields in a class. After detecting whether the field is problematic, I add it to the bug report like below: Once I run findbugs, it identifies the bug, lists it in the left pane, but does not highlight the corresponding source line. Any hints/help on this will be very appreciated. public void visit(Field f) { if (isProblematic(getXField())) { bugReporter.reportBug(new BugInstance(this, tBugType, HIGH_PRIORITY) .addClass(currentClass) //from visit(JavaClass) .addField(this)); } } public void visit(JavaClass someObj) { currentClass = someObj.getClassName(); } P.S. I tried posting this on the findbugs list but... no joy.

  • How can I stub out a call to super in a imported Java class in JRuby for testing

    - by Doug Chew
I am testing Java classes with RSpec and JRuby. How can I stub out a call to super in an imported Java class in my RSpec test? For example: I have 2 Java classes: public class A{ public String foo() { return "bar"; } } public class B extends A public String foo() { // B code return super.foo(); } } I am just trying to test the code in B.foo and not the code in A.foo with JRuby. How can I stub out the call to the super class method in my RSpec test? rspec test: java_import Java::B describe B do it "should not call A.foo" do # some code to stub out A.foo b = B.new b.foo.should_not == "bar" end end I have tried including a module with a new foo method in B's class hoping that it would hit the module method first but B still makes a call to A. The inserting module technique works in Ruby but not with JRuby and imported Java classes. Any other ideas to stub out the superclass method to get my RSpec test to pass?

  • Java method overloading + double dispatch

  • How to identify the source of a text selection event coming from a CompareEditorInput in eclipse?

    - by tangens
In my eclipse plugin I have the following code: public class MyHandler extends AbstractHandler { @Override public Object execute( ExecutionEvent event ) throws ExecutionException { ISelection sel = HandlerUtil .getActiveWorkbenchWindowChecked( event ) .getSelectionService() .getSelection(); if( sel instanceof TextSelection ) { IEditorPart activeEditor = PlatformUI .getWorkbench() .getActiveWorkbenchWindow() .getActivePage() .getActiveEditor(); IEditorInput editorInput = activeEditor.getEditorInput(); if( editorInput instanceof CompareEditorInput ) { // here are two possible sources of the text selection, the // left or the right side of the compare editor. // How can I find out, which side it is from? } } return null; } } Here I'm handling a text selection event coming from an CompareEditorInput, i.e. the result of comparing two remote revisions of a file with subclipse. Now I want to handle the text selection properly. For that I have to know if it selects some text inside the left side editor or inside the right side editor. How can I find that out?

  • How do I place a DIV tag image on the very top of the page in HTML5?

    - by Jacob
Hello there. I'm trying to put an x-repeat "grid" of images by using background-image in CSS, then using the id in a DIV tag. My intention is to put a sort of "panel", then always extends to the very top of the page, and loops with repeat-x. It works just fine without a DOCTYPE, but when I put the clean in the code, it pushes the image in the tag downwards, as if there's a margin on the top of the page of about 15 px or so. I tried top-margin, z-index, with no success. Excuse me if I'm asking a silly question, but I'm sort of new. Thanks, -Jacob

  • Implementation question involving implementing an interface

    - by Vivin Paliath
I'm writing a set of collection classes for different types of Trees. I'm doing this as a learning exercise and I'm also hoping it turns out to be something useful. I really want to do this the right way and so I've been reading Effective Java and I've also been looking at the way Joshua Bloch implemented the collection classes by looking at the source. I seem to have a fair idea of what is being done, but I still have a few things to sort out. I have a Node<T> interface and an AbstractNode<T> class that implements the Node interface. I then created a GenericNode<T> (a node that can have 0 to n children, and that is part of an n-ary tree) class that extends AbstractNode<T> and implements Node<T>. This part was easy. Next, I created a Tree<T> interface and an AbstractTree<T> class that implements the Tree<T> interface. After that, I started writing a GenericTree<T> class that extends AbstractTree<T> and implements Tree<T>. This is where I started having problems. As far as the design is concerned, a GenericTree<T> can only consist of nodes of type GenericTreeNode<T>. This includes the root. In my Tree<T> interface I have: public interface Tree<T> { void setRoot(Node<T> root); Node<T> getRoot(); List<Node<T>> postOrder(); ... rest omitted ... } And, AbstractTree<T> implements this interface: public abstract class AbstractTree<T> implements Tree<T> { protected Node<T> root; protected AbstractTree() { } protected AbstractTree(Node<T> root) { this.root = root; } public void setRoot(Node<T> root) { this.root = root; } public Node<T> getRoot() { return this.root; } ... rest omitted ... } In GenericTree<T>, I can have: public GenericTree(Node<T> root) { super(root); } But what this means is that you can create a generic tree using any subtype of Node<T>. You can also set the root of a tree to any subtype of Node<T>. I want to be able to restrict the type of the node to the type of the tree that it can represent. To fix this, I can do this: public GenericTree(GenericNode<T> root) { super(root); } However, setRoot still accepts a parameter of type Node<T>. Which means a user can still create a tree with the wrong type of root node. How do I enforce this constraint? The only way I can think of doing is either: Do an instanceof which limits the check to runtime. I'm not a huge fan of this. Remove setRoot from the interface and have the base class implement this method. This means that it is not part of the contract and anyone who wants to make a new type of tree needs to remember to implement this method. Is there a better way? The second question I have concerns the return type of postOrder which is List<Node<T>>. This means that if a user is operating on a GenericTree<T> object and calls postOrder, he or she receives a list that consists of Node<T> objects. This means when iterating through (using a foreach construct) they would have perform an explicit cast to GenericNode<T> if they want to use methods that are only defined in that class. I don't like having to place this burden on the user. What are my options in this case? I can only think of removing the method from the interface and have the subclass implement this method making sure that it returns a list of appropriate subtype of Node<T>. However, this once again removes it from the contract and it's anyone who wants to create a new type of tree has to remember to implement this method. Is there a better way?

  • Best way to deal with session handling in Zend Framework

    - by JACK IN THE CRACK
So I'm starting up in Zend framework and looking to implement a site-wide "User" session.... something I can easily access from ALL modules/controllers in the application. I'm like, should I make a new namespace in the library and extend the controller, like: MyLib_Controller_Action extends Zend_Controller_Action { protected $_userSession; function preDispatch(Zend_Controller_Request_Abstract $req) { $this->_userSession = new Zend_Session_Namespace('user'); } } ANd then have all my controllers/modules/etc extend from that? Or should I create a Plugin or what? How would you go about making this plugin to pass the user session to the controller? Or do I do it in the bootstrap?? Again how to pass to controller? Also should I use Zend_Session_Namespace or Zend_Http_Cookie and also how do I encrypt and xss clean the cookie or is that did automagically?

  • Unbelievable: Cannot cast from class X to its super class

    - by Phuong Nguyen de ManCity fan
I'm encountering a very weird problem with Spring (3.0.1.RELEASE), TestNG (5.11) and Maven Surefire (2.5). I have a test class that extends a Spring helper class for testNG so that test context can be loaded from an xml file (that contains some bean definitions). My project was imported into eclipse using m2eclipse (using Import Maven Project) The class run fine in Eclipse TestNG runner. However, it throws this exception with Maven Surefire Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl cannot be cast to javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory at javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(DocumentBuilderFactory.java:123) at org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.DefaultDocumentLoader.createDocumentBuilderFactory(DefaultDocumentLoader.java:89) at org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.DefaultDocumentLoader.loadDocument(DefaultDocumentLoader.java:70) at org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.XmlBeanDefinitionReader.doLoadBeanDefinitions(XmlBeanDefinitionReader.java:388) I have eliminated all involved dependencies in my pom so that the two classes com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl and javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory are coming from JRE only (the rt.jar). So, it looks so unbelievable to me. I wonder if there is any mechanism in loading class that can explain for this behavior? Thanks.

  • Cannot Extend Django 1.2.1 Admin Template

    - by jcady
I am attempting to override/extend the header for the Django admin in version 1.2.1. However when I try to extend the admin template and simply change what I need documented here: http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/contrib/admin/#overriding-vs-replacing-an-admin-template), I run into a recursion problem. I have an index.html file in my project's templates/admin/ directory that starts with {% extends "admin/index.html" %} But it seems that this is referencing the local index file (a.k.a. itself) rather than the default Django copy. I want to extend the default Django template and simply change a few blocks. When I try this file, I get a recursion depth error. How can I extend parts of the admin? Thanks.

    How do you set the content type in Restlet (version 2.0 for google app engine)? In this case, I'd like to set the content type to ""text/xml". I have: public class SubResource extends ServerResource { @Get public Representation get(Representation representation){ setStatus(Status.SUCCESS_OK); StringRepresentation sr = new StringRepresentation(getSomeXml()); return sr; } } I'm unsure even if it is a value that is set in the Representation, or if it is set from the ServerResource class the same way that the return code is. ANSWER: StringRepresentation sr = new StringRepresentation(getSomeXml()); sr.setMediaType(MediaType.TEXT_XML);

  • android camera preview blank screen

    - by user1104836
I want to capture a photo manually not by using existing camera apps. So i made this Activity: public class CameraActivity extends Activity { private Camera mCamera; private Preview mPreview; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_camera); // Create an instance of Camera // mCamera = Camera.open(0); // Create our Preview view and set it as the content of our activity. mPreview = new Preview(this); mPreview.safeCameraOpen(0); FrameLayout preview = (FrameLayout) findViewById(R.id.camera_preview); preview.addView(mPreview); } @Override public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { // Inflate the menu; this adds items to the action bar if it is present. getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.activity_camera, menu); return true; } } This is the CameraPreview which i want to use: public class Preview extends ViewGroup implements SurfaceHolder.Callback { SurfaceView mSurfaceView; SurfaceHolder mHolder; //CAM INSTANCE ================================ private Camera mCamera; List<Size> mSupportedPreviewSizes; //============================================= /** * @param context */ public Preview(Context context) { super(context); mSurfaceView = new SurfaceView(context); addView(mSurfaceView); // Install a SurfaceHolder.Callback so we get notified when the // underlying surface is created and destroyed. mHolder = mSurfaceView.getHolder(); mHolder.addCallback(this); mHolder.setType(SurfaceHolder.SURFACE_TYPE_PUSH_BUFFERS); } /** * @param context * @param attrs */ public Preview(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); // TODO Auto-generated constructor stub } /** * @param context * @param attrs * @param defStyle */ public Preview(Context context, AttributeSet attrs, int defStyle) { super(context, attrs, defStyle); // TODO Auto-generated constructor stub } /* (non-Javadoc) * @see android.view.ViewGroup#onLayout(boolean, int, int, int, int) */ @Override protected void onLayout(boolean arg0, int arg1, int arg2, int arg3, int arg4) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub } @Override public void surfaceChanged(SurfaceHolder holder, int format, int width, int height) { // Now that the size is known, set up the camera parameters and begin // the preview. Camera.Parameters parameters = mCamera.getParameters(); parameters.setPreviewSize(width, height); requestLayout(); mCamera.setParameters(parameters); /* Important: Call startPreview() to start updating the preview surface. Preview must be started before you can take a picture. */ mCamera.startPreview(); } @Override public void surfaceCreated(SurfaceHolder holder) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub } @Override public void surfaceDestroyed(SurfaceHolder holder) { // Surface will be destroyed when we return, so stop the preview. if (mCamera != null) { /* Call stopPreview() to stop updating the preview surface. */ mCamera.stopPreview(); } } /** * When this function returns, mCamera will be null. */ private void stopPreviewAndFreeCamera() { if (mCamera != null) { /* Call stopPreview() to stop updating the preview surface. */ mCamera.stopPreview(); /* Important: Call release() to release the camera for use by other applications. Applications should release the camera immediately in onPause() (and re-open() it in onResume()). */ mCamera.release(); mCamera = null; } } public void setCamera(Camera camera) { if (mCamera == camera) { return; } stopPreviewAndFreeCamera(); mCamera = camera; if (mCamera != null) { List<Size> localSizes = mCamera.getParameters().getSupportedPreviewSizes(); mSupportedPreviewSizes = localSizes; requestLayout(); try { mCamera.setPreviewDisplay(mHolder); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } /* Important: Call startPreview() to start updating the preview surface. Preview must be started before you can take a picture. */ mCamera.startPreview(); } } public boolean safeCameraOpen(int id) { boolean qOpened = false; try { releaseCameraAndPreview(); mCamera = Camera.open(id); mCamera.startPreview(); qOpened = (mCamera != null); } catch (Exception e) { // Log.e(R.string.app_name, "failed to open Camera"); e.printStackTrace(); } return qOpened; } Camera.PictureCallback mPicCallback = new Camera.PictureCallback() { @Override public void onPictureTaken(byte[] data, Camera camera) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub Log.d("lala", "pic is taken"); } }; public void takePic() { mCamera.startPreview(); // mCamera.takePicture(null, mPicCallback, mPicCallback); } private void releaseCameraAndPreview() { this.setCamera(null); if (mCamera != null) { mCamera.release(); mCamera = null; } } } This is the Layout of CameraActivity: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" tools:context=".CameraActivity" > <FrameLayout android:id="@+id/camera_preview" android:layout_width="0dip" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_weight="1" /> <Button android:id="@+id/button_capture" android:text="Capture" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center" /> </LinearLayout> But when i start the CameraActivity, i just see a blank white background and the Capture-Button??? Why i dont see the Camera-Screen?

  • Classes missing if application runs for a long time

    - by Rogach
I have a funny problem - if my application runs for a long time ( 20h), then sometimes I get NoClassDefFound error - seems like JVM decided that the class is not going to be used anyway and GCd it. To be a bit more specific, here's an example case: object ErrorHandler extends PartialFunction[Throwable,Unit] { def isDefinedAt(t: Throwable) = true def apply(e: Throwable) =e match { // ... handle errors } } // somewhere else in the code... try { // ... long running code, can take more than 20 hours to complete } catch (ErrorHandler) And I get the following exception: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/rogach/avalanche/ErrorHandler$ If that try/catch block runs for smaller amounts of time, everything works as expected. If anyone is interested, here is the codebase in question: Avalanche I need to note that I saw this and similar problems only on Cent OS 5 machines, using JRE 6u26 and Scala 2.9.1 / 2.9.2. What could be the cause of this problem?
