    Hello, I am having some problems trying to work with PostgreSQL and Hibernate, more specifically, the issue mentioned in the title. I've been searching the net for a few hours now but none of the found solutions worked for me. I am using Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers. Build id: 20090920-1017 with HibernateTools, Hibernate 3, PostgreSQL 8.4.3 on Ubuntu 9.10. Everything is lowercase, so I don't think that it's that issue. If I switch to MySQL, the same code same project (I only change driver,URL, authentication), it works. In Eclipse Datasource Explorer, I can ping the DB and it succeeds. Weird thing is that I can't see the tables from there either. It expands the public schema but it doesn't expand the tables. Could it be some permission issue? Thanks!

    I'm working on a Push Notifications library for Android (http://deaconproject.org/) that needs to take action if network connectivity is interrupted or changed - namely, it needs to re-initiate a server connection or pause its operation until network connectivity is available. This seems to work fine using and Android BroadcastReceiver for "android.net.ConnectivityManager.CONNECTIVITY_ACTION". My problem is in testing the library - I would like to automatically test the library's response to a broken network connection, or a transition from 3G to WiFi, under various configuration conditions. The problem is, I don't want to sit with the emulator and hit F8 all day. Is there a way to programmatically manipulate network connections on Android from within a jUnit test without resorting to toggling Airplane Mode? I've already tried issuing commands to the emulator via the console, manipulating the GSM mode, etc, but while the phone state changes on the display, the Internet connection remains up.

I want to be able to do the following: create a local branch based on some other (remote or local) branch (via git branch or git checkout -b) push the local branch to remote repo (publish), but make it trackable so git pull and git push will work immediately. How do I do that? EDIT: I know about --set-upstream in git 1.7, but that is a post-creation action. i want to find a way to make a similar change when pushing the branch to the remote repo.

    Hello, I am writing an ASP.NET MVC 2.0 application which requires users to log in before placing a bid on an item. I am using an actionfilter to ensure that the user is logged in and, if not, send them to a login page and set the return url. Below is the code i use in my action filter. if (!filterContext.HttpContext.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated) { filterContext.Result = new RedirectResult(String.Concat("~/Account/LogOn","?ReturnUrl=",filterContext.HttpContext.Request.RawUrl)); return; } In my logon controller I validate the users credentials then sign them in and redirect to the return url FormsAuth.SignIn(userName, rememberMe); if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(returnUrl)) { return Redirect(returnUrl); } My problem is that this will always use a Get (HttpGet) request whereas my original submission was a post (HttpPost) and should always be a post. Can anyone suggest a way of passing this URL including the HttpMethod or any workaround to ensure that the correct HttpMethod is used? Thanks in advance, JP

  • PerformClick() for a radio button not working

    There is a usercontrol which has a radio button and that user control is called in a dialog box. I have written an onclick event for radio button and used performclick() to call it. But even though performclick() is being executed without any exception, it's not performing on click action. It's neither calling on click function nor reflecting a check in UI. But the on-click event works perfectly if I click it manually in the UI. I am using VS2010 and to test the case I created a helloworld project. I observed the app worked well when the Causesvalidation property of radiobutton is false, but doesn't when that validation property is true. How can I fix this? More: As I researched more I found out that Performclick doesn't work well when controls are called inside other controls and when this is done for many layers. It was same in my case, there were four layers to reach my radiobutton. So I replaced the prformclick function by calling onclick function directly and then making radiobutton.checked = true inside that function.

  • Open excel 2007 excel files and save as 97-2003 formats in VBA

    I have a weird situation where I have a set of excel files, all having the extension .xls., in a directory where I can open all of them just fine in Excel 2007. The odd thing is that I cannot open them in Excel 2003, on the same machine, without opening the file first in 2007 and going and saving the file as an "Excel 97-2003 Workbook". Before I save the file as an "Excel 97-2003 Workbook" from Excel 2007, when I open the excel files in 2003 I get the error that the file is not in a recognizable format. So my question is: if I already have the excel file opened in 2007 and I already have the file name of the open file stored in a variable, programatically how can I mimic the action of going up to the "office button" in the upper right and selecting, "save as" and then selecting "Excel 97-2003 Workbook"? I've tried something like the below but it does not save the file at all: ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs TempFilePath & TempFileName & ".xls", FileFormat:=56 Thanks for any help or guidance!

As by setting its loaded to false unloads it. Visibility to true reloads it and with the Math random shouldn't allow it to cache? So has anyone done this before or know how I can get this to work?

  • Custom app_offline.htm file during publish

    When I publish my ASP.NET MVC application it generates a app_offline.htm file to take the site offline while it updates the website and then deletes the file once the publish is successful. This is cool and I really like the idea, but I want to create my own custom app_offline.htm file that the publish action is aware of and put it somewhere where it doesn't effect my development site - i.e. it doesn't sit in the root of my development site rendering it offline all the time. TIA, Charles EDIT: From the comments on Scott Gu's post about app_offline.htm, it seems that customization of the app_offline.htm file wasn't possible with VS 2005 - has this changed with VS 2008 and now VS 2010?

    Hi i completed creating i calendar feed in asp.net mvc.Basically the op is the file with .ics extensions.I am able to open my file in mozilla sunbird(calendar reader software) and view the milestones lists.Now when i want to open it with google calendar i get an error.How can i synchronize mi ical file with google calendar.Do i need to use webcal:\ protocol to achive that.Basically my feed link should apper some thing like this webcal://proj2009.basecamphq.com/feed/global_ical?token=457bd123e18d instead of controller/action/id(which i have now).There aint enough resource on the web for this one.Anyone pls help. For completeness, it is possible to recreate the scenario very easily: Create a new MVC web app. Run it up. Visit the About tab Modify the URL to read /Home/About/Flib - This obviously takes you to the action with an id of 'Flib' which we don't care about. Notice that the top menu link to About now actually links to /Home/About/Flib - this is wrong as far as I can see, as I now have absolutely no way of using site links to get back to /Home/About I really don't understand why I should be forced to modify all of my Html.ActionLinks to include new { id = string.Empty } for the routevalues and null for the htmlAttribs. This seems especially out of whack because I already specify id = 0 as part of the route itself. Hopefully I'm missing a trick here.

  • iPad issue with a modal view: modal view label null after view controller is created

    This is a weird issue. I have created a view controller with a nib file for my modal view. On that view there is a label, number and text view. When I create the view from the source view, I tried to set the label, but it shows that the label is null (0x0). Kinda weird... Any suggestions?     Hello. I'm really interested in learning really advanced features of WPF to learn how to create advanced controls, but apparently I'm running out of resources, and possibly, imagination. I have these 4 books: WPF Control Development Unleashed Experiences Pro WPF 2008 Presentation Professionals Programming WPF Chris Sells WPF in Action Visual Studio 2008 One finished, two other half way, the other one just started. I sort of expected more from the "WPF Control Development Unleashed" one. Anyway, do you know any more books about advanced WPF features, and control building? Or even about how WPF works internally. Let me know what are your favorite WPF books, maybe I've overlooked some of them. Thanks!

  • jQuery button click refresh of jqGrid only firing once

    I have the following jQuery code which I'm using to populate a jqGrid. It works perfectly posting to my ASP.NET MVC page on the first click of the button. My problem is, any other clicks past the first it seems to run through the jquery code when clicking the button but it never makes it to the POST page.
