  Hi All, I have configured my list so that users can only read and edit items they have created. I now need to configure this list so that a particular group of users can edit and read all items on this list. I know users with the 'Manage Lists' permission would be able to do this. My question is can this be configured to be even more granular to apply a permission that works like the 'Manage Lists' permission but only for a particular list, rather than all lists?   Hi, Just a quick question. I've written some code that returns a custom class Command, and the code I've written seems to work fine. I was wondering if there are any reasons that I shouldn't be doing it this way. It's something like this: Command Behavior::getCommand () { char input = 'x'; return Command (input, -1, -1); } Anyway, I read that constructors aren't meant to have a return value, but this works in g++. • Changing directory in Open File Dialog programatically.

  Hi All, I have a customized OpenFileDialog (VS2008, C#, Windows Forms) with a ComboBox. The ComboBox will have a list of paths which the user can select. My question, is there a way I can change the directory in Open File Dialog to point to the path in the combobox selected item. InitialDirectory works only before I open the dialog, I wanted a way to change the directory programatically after the dialog is open. Thanks

• Chaining animations and memory management

  Hey Everyone, Got a question. I have a subclassed UIView that is acting as my background where I am scrolling the ground. The code is working really nice and according to the Instrumentation, I am not leaking nor is my created and still living Object allocation growing. I have discovered else where in my application that adding an animation to a UIImageView that is owned by my subclassed UIView seems to bump up my retain count and removing all animations when I am done drops it back down. My question is this, when you add an animation to a layer with a key, I am assuming that if there is already a used animation in that entry position in the backing dictionary that it is released and goes into the autorelease pool? I am assuming everytime I add an animation the one that exists in that key position is released. Just wondering I am correct. Also, I am relatively new to Core Animation. • AlarmManager triggers PendingIntent too soon

  I've searched for 3 days now but didn't find a solution or similar problem/question anywhere else. Here is the deal: Trigger in 1 hour - works correct Trigger in 2 hours - Goes of in 1:23 Trigger in 1 day - Goes of in ~11:00 So why is the AlarmManager so unpredictable and always too soon? Or what am I doing wrong? And is there another way so that it could work correctly? This is the way I register my PendingIntent in the AlarmManager (stripped down): AlarmManager alarmManager = (AlarmManager)parent.getSystemService(ALARM_SERVICE); Intent myIntent = new Intent(parent, UpdateKlasRoostersService.class); PendingIntent pendingIntent = PendingIntent.getService(parent, 0, myIntent, PendingIntent.FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT); //Set startdate of PendingIntent so it triggers in 10 minutes Calendar start = Calendar.getInstance(); start.setTimeInMillis(SystemClock.elapsedRealtime()); start.add(Calendar.MINUTE, 10); //Set interval of PendingIntent so it triggers every day Integer interval = 1*24*60*60*1000; //Cancel any similar instances of this PendingIntent if already scheduled alarmManager.cancel(pendingIntent); //Schedule PendingIntent alarmManager.setRepeating(AlarmManager.ELAPSED_REALTIME_WAKEUP, start.getTimeInMillis(), interval, pendingIntent); //Old way I used to schedule a PendingIntent, didn't seem to work either //alarmManager.set(AlarmManager.RTC_WAKEUP, start.getTimeInMillis(), pendingIntent); It would be awesome if anyone has a solution. Thanks for any help! Update: 2 hours ago it worked to trigger it with an interval of 2 hours, but after that it triggered after 1:20 hours. It's getting really weird. I'll track the triggers down with a logfile and post it here tomorrow. Update: The PendingIntent is scheduled to run every 3 hours. From the log's second line it seems like an old scheduled PendingIntent is still running: [2012-5-3 2:15:42 519] Updating Klasroosters [2012-5-3 4:15:15 562] Updating Klasroosters [2012-5-3 5:15:42 749] Updating Klasroosters [2012-5-3 8:15:42 754] Updating Klasroosters [2012-5-3 11:15:42 522] Updating Klasroosters But, I'm sure I cancelled the scheduled PendingIntent's before I schedule a new one. And every PendingIntent isn't recreated in the same way, so it should be exactly the same. If not , this threads question isn't relevant anymore.

  I've used CCK to create a 'Travel Offer' content-type which basically just lists the details for a travel package. My question is how to have a button or link on each node (when the user views it) that will link to a url that includes the title of the current node (eg: example.com/requestQuote/Title_Of_This_Node). I haven't implemented my system yet so I am free to change the content-type to include a button field or something like that...

• Is there any way to delete an HttpOnly cookie from C# Selenium tests?

  I have a set of C# Selenium tests that need to delete a cookie that has the HttpOnly flag set. Unfortunately the DefaultSelenium.GetCookie() and DefaultSelenium.DeleteCookie() commands aren't able to access the cookie, because it has that HttpOnly flag set. I've confirmed this by removing the flag by hand, and checking that subsequent calls to either of those methods are then happily able to manipulate the cookie in question. Is there any other way to do this via the Selenium .NET client driver? All ideas welcome!

• Sibling UIViewController Navigation

  would anybody care to comment on this piece of code? It allows you to do "prev" or "next" once in the detail view of a uiviewcontroller. So, if you have 4 uiviewcontrollers, you can navigate from #3 to #2 with previous or #3 to #4 with next.   I like to use the nifty perl feature where reading from the empty angle operator <> magically gives your program UNIX filter semantics, but I'd like to be able to access this feature through an actual filehandle (or IO::Handle object, or similar), so that I can do things like pass it into subroutines and such. Is there any way to do this? This question is particularly hard to google, because searching for "angle operator" and "filehandle" just tells me how to read from filehandles using the angle operator.

However, I would like to have JavaScript be able to call some Objective-C functions that would somehow be registered with WebKit. I assume that you can do this better than trapping links like on the iPhone as on Mac OS X we have access to the full WebKit. I wish to basically do the reverse of Using JavaScript from Objective-C

• Pound symbol not displaying on web page

  Hello I have a mysql database table to store country name and currency symbol - the CHARSET has correctly set to UTF8. This is example data inserted into the table insert into country ( country_name, currency_name, currency_code, currency_symbol) values ('UK','Pounds','GBP','£'); When I look in the database - the pound symbol appears fine - but when I retrieve it from the database and display it on the website - a weird square symbol shows up with a question mark inside instead of the pound symbol.   I'm attempting to track my dependencies with git-submodules in my rails app. So far I've added submodules for things like, haml, shoulda, authlogic, etc to 'vendor/plugins'. I've seen indications that I should be using 'vendor/gems' instead though. Question, which directory is the appropriate place to put dependencies being tracked as submodules? Is the choice arbitrary?
