  • Attributed strings in UITableViewCells without WebView?

    - by arnekolja
Hello, does anyone know if there's a way in with 3.0+ to display attributed strings within a UITableViewCell without using a UIWebView for that? I need to display a string with linked, tappable substrings as the typical detailTextLabel. I wouldn't mind exchanging this UILabel against another type of view, but I think a UIWebView could be just too slow when rendering a table with hundrets of cells. Or does someone have opposite experiences here? So my question is: what's the best way to achieve mixed strings in a very large table without a great performance hit? I searched for this almost a whole day now, but I can only find old posts mentioning that there's no attributed string on the iPhone (outdated, as this was pre-3.0) and/or saying that they use a UIWebView for that. But really, I don't think this would perform very well on large tables, would it? Many, many thanks in advance Arne

  • Adding objects to LDAP via CGI

    - by musashiXXX
I have a web form that collects information and submits it to a cgi that attempts to insert the data into LDAP. The problem is that I'm trying to use a variable with ::ldap::add and it's just not working. Here's the code: if {[string length env(QUERY_STRING)] != 0} { set handle [::ldap::connect localhost] set dn "cn=admin,dc=mycompany,dc=com" set pw "myPassword" ::ldap::bind $handle $dn $pw set dn "cn=[ncgi::value givenName] [ncgi::value sn],ou=people,dc=mycompany,dc=com" set formValues [ puts "cn {{[ncgi::value givenName] [ncgi::value sn]}}" puts "displayName [ncgi::value givenName] [ncgi::value sn]" foreach {key value} [ncgi::nvlist] { if {[string length $value] != 0} { puts "$key $value" } } puts "objectClass top" puts "objectClass person" puts "objectClass organizationalPerson" puts "objectClass inetOrgPerson" ] ::ldap::add $handle $dn { $formValues } ldap::unbind $handle } However, if I replace $formValues with the actual entries that I want to insert into LDAP, they get added just fine. I'm new to TCL so I wouldn't be surprised if there were some glaring errors in this snippet. Thanks in advance!

  • How do I set the user's locale on a JSP

    - by ebynum
I have a .jsp page that the user loads directly. The request it with a URL like the following: http://www.example.com/myfile.jsp?country=CA&language=fr In the JSP, I pull the URL GET parameters and attempt to set the locale using them as follows: <% String myLanguage = request.getParameter("language"); String myCountry = request.getParameter("country"); Locale myLocale = new Locale(myLanguage, myCountry); pageContext.setAttribute("myLocale", myLocale, PageContext.PAGE_SCOPE); %> <fmt:setLocale value="${myLocale}" scope="page" /> There are several places in the JSP that then display a message pulled from a localized resource bundle using <bean:message bundle="ts" key="..." /> from Struts. On the first request for this page (after changing the language in the URL), it is returned in US English (the default Locale), and then subsequent refreshes will return the properly localized content.

  • Encrypt URL in asp.net

    - by Zerotoinfinite
Hi All, My site is in asp.net 3.5 and C#. I am sending link to my user through mail, now I want to send each user a specific URL. so instead of sending the clear text I want to send link with encrypted string URL, which I will decrypt on my home page. Like instead of www.mysite.aspx\mypage?userId=12 i'll send www.mysite.aspx\mypage?UserId=)@kasd12 and the same i'll decrypt on my page so that I'll get the userId = 12. Please let me know if my approach is correct and not and how can I encrypt & decrypt the string in simplest and easier manner. Thanks in advance.

  • Loop through JSON data Associatively

    - by Abs
Hello all, How can I loop through this json data without referring to the data items by a number. I would like to use it as an associative array. I have this so far: $.post('/controlpanel/search', { type: type, string: string }, function(data){ $.each(data, function() { $.each(this, function(index, itemData) { //alert(data.id) something like this //currently returns undefined }); }); }, 'json'); Example Json Code: [{"id":"1","title":"","link":"http:\/\/www.msn.com","date_added":"0000-00-00 00:00:00", "privacy_type":"0","user_id":"8","field2":"","field3":"","bookmark_id":"70","tag":"clean"}] Thanks all for any help

  • Java/JAXB: Unmarshall Xml to specific subclass based on an attribute

    - by Frothy
Is it possible to use JAXB to unmarshall xml to a specific Java class based on an attribute of the xml? <shapes> <shape type="square" points="4" square-specific-attribute="foo" /> <shape type="triangle" points="3" triangle-specific-attribute="bar" /> </shapes> I would like to have a List of Shape objects containing a triangle and a square, each with their own shape-specific attribute. IE: abstract class Shape { int points; //...etc } class Square extends Shape { String square-specific-attribute; //...etc } class Triangle extends Shape { String triangle-specific-attribute; //...etc } I'm currently just putting all attributes in one big "Shape" class and it's less than ideal. I could get this to work if the shapes were properly named xml elements, but unfortunately I don't have control of the xml I'm retrieving. Thanks!

  • C# simpler run time generics

    - by Hellfrost
Is there a way to invoke a generic function with a type known only at run time? I'm trying to do something like: static void bar() { object b = 6; string c = foo<typeof(b)>(); } static string foo<T>() { return typeof (T).Name; } Basically I want to decide on the type parameter only at run time, but the function I'm calling depends on the type parameter. Also I know this can be done with reflections... but it's not the nicest solution to the problem... I'm sort of looking for dynamic features in C#...

  • Combining consecutive dates into ranges

    - by Ragha J
    I have a List of objects public class sample { public DateTime Date; public string content; } I want to be able to create a list of new objects public class sampleWithIntervals { public DateTime startDate; public DateTime endDate; public string content; } The sample objects should be grouped into intervals based on the content. The intervals can include only those dates that are included in the original sample list. I dont know how to do this in Linq. Sample data: {"10/1/2013", "x"} {"10/2/2013", "x"} {"10/2/2013", "y"} {"10/3/2013", "x"} {"10/3/2013", "y"} {"10/10/2013", "x"} {"10/11/2013", "x"} {"10/15/2013", "y"} {"10/16/2013", "y"} {"10/20/2013", "y"} This should give me {"10/1/2013","10/3/2013", "x"} {"10/2/2013","10/3/2013", "y"} {"10/10/2013","10/11/2013", "x"} {"10/15/2013","10/16/2013", "y"} {"10/20/2013","10/20/2013", "y"}

  • [PHP] preg_replace: replacing using %

    - by Juan
Hi all, I'm using the function preg_replace but I cannot figure out how to make it work, the function just doesn't seem to work for me. What I'm trying to do is to convert a string into a link if any word contains the % (percentage) character. For instance if I have the string "go to %mysite", I'd like to convert the mysite word into a link. I tried the following... $data = "go to %mysite"; $result = preg_replace('/(^|[\s\.\,\:\;]+)%([A-Za-z0-9]{1,64})/e', '\\1%<a href=#>\\2</a>', $data); ...but it doesn't work. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks Juan

  • Replacing multiple patterns in a block of data

    - by VikrantY
Hi All, I need to find the most efficient way of matching multiple regular expressions on a single block of text. To give an example of what I need, consider a block of text: "Hello World what a beautiful day" I want to replace Hello with "Bye" and "World" with Universe. I can always do this in a loop ofcourse, using something like String.replace functions availiable in various languages. However, I could have a huge block of text with multiple string patterns, that I need to match and replace. I was wondering if I can use Regular Expressions to do this efficiently or do I have to use a Parser like LALR. I need to do this in JavaScript, so if anyone knows tools that can get it done, it would be appreciated.

  • ListView not showing up in fragment

When I insert a listview in a fragment in my application, it doesn't show up after I populate it with items. In fact, the application crashes due to a NullPointerException. Can anybody help me? As you can see in the CourseDetailActvity, I populate smaple items in the listview to see if it the listview shows up. The fragment gets inflated properly, but when I try to add items to the listview, the application crashes! • Loopj Android Async Http - onFailure not fired

    - by Ashley Staggs
I am using the great async http library from loopj, but I have run into a small snag. If the user has no internet connection or loses their connection, the app just won't return anything. This part is expected, but it also doesn't fire the onFailure method. Also, the code I have used when there is an internet connection does work so there is no problem on the server end. Here is some code that is stripped down to the minimum. It also doesn't work (I have tested this too) String url = getString(R.string.baseurl) + "/appconnect.php"; client.getHttpClient().getParams().setParameter(ClientPNames.ALLOW_CIRCULAR_REDIRECTS, true); client.get(url, null, new JsonHttpResponseHandler() { @Override public void onSuccess(JSONArray response) { Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), "Success", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } @Override public void onFailure(Throwable e, JSONArray errorResponse) { Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), "Failure", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } }); Thanks, Ashley

  • Why acegi (Spring Security) converts password to uppercase before comparing ?

    - by Tony
One of my colleague in QA team reported a bug to me, the bug said that can't change password to lowercase, otherwise login is rejected, using number or uppercase is all fine. The login system was implemented using acegi 1.0 (now called Spring Security). This was a very strange bug, changing password is done by encrypting the user input string into MD5 string, I implemented this without using anything related acegi, I don't if the is the origin cause of the problem. When the login is rejected, through debugging, I find that, the user input is converted into uppercase by acegi when passing to the acegi comparing logic. At first, I didn't believe this, when I checkout the acegi source and debugging with it, I find it does convert both username and password to uppercase (source code line 121), Can you tell me why it does this? This can cause password encoding mismatch!

  • Mongoid Embeds_many won't save on nested form

    - by Brandon J McKay
I've got an embeds_many association I'm trying to set up which I've done successfully before, but I'm trying to do it all in one nested form and I can't figure it out. Let's say we have a pocket model: class Pocket include Mongoid::Document field :title, type: String embeds_many :coins, cascade_callbacks: true end and a Coin Model: class Coin include Mongoid::Document field :name, type: String embedded_in :pocket end in my form for the pocket, I'm using: = f.fields_for @pocket.coins do |coin| = coin.text_field :name My controller is the default scaffolded controller. When I use the console, it saves fine and I can see the new pocket and coin I've created. But when I try to create or update a coin from the form, the pocket saves but the coin remains unchanged. What am I missing here?

  • xml and external swf documents

    - by VideoDnd
    My XML scripts work fine in the local swf. If I load an external swf, can I still retreive XML data from the same way, or do I have to declare the root somewhere? It's a general question. I know that when animating external swf files, you have to set it up differently, if so I would like an example, and a pitcher of beer. It's St. Patrick's weekend. SAMPLE CODE ONLY XML <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <SESSION> <COUNT TITLE="starting position">-77777</COUNT> </SESSION> loader swf 'nodes' //grab the data as a string myString = myXML.COUNT.text(); //grab the data as an int count = int(myXML.COUNT.text()); external swf 'variables' var myString:String = ""; var count:int = int(myString); trace(count);

  • best practice for passing many arguments to method ?

    - by Tony
Occasionally , we have to write methods that receive many many arguments , for example : public void doSomething(Object objA , Object objectB ,Date date1 ,Date date2 ,String str1 ,String str2 ) { } When I encounter this kind of problem , I often encapsulate arguments into a map. Map<Object,Object> params = new HashMap<Object,Object>(); params.put("objA",ObjA) ; ...... public void doSomething(Map<Object,Object> params) { // extracting params Object objA = (Object)params.get("objA"); ...... } This is not a good practice , encapsulate params into a map is totally a waste of efficiency. The good thing is , the clean signature , easy to add other params with fewest modification . what's the best practice for this kind of problem ?

  • Automapping to EntityKeys in Entity Framework

    - by CodeGrue
Does anyone have a technique to automap (using Automapper) references to child entities. So say I have a ViewModel: class AddressModel { int Id; string Street; StateModel State; } class StateModel { int Id; string Name; } And I pass this into a repository to map to equivalent entities in Entity Framework. When Automapping, I want it to automap AddressModel.State.ID to the EntityKey of AddressEntity.StateReference. So hand crafted code would look like this: addressEntity.Id = AddressModel.Id; addressEntity.Street = AddressModel.Street addressEntity.StateReference.EntityKey = new EntityKey("MyDB.States", "Id", AddressModel.State.Id); Obviously, when automapper tries to assign an Address.State.Id to the equivalent in EF, an exception is thrown.

  • How do partialviews work in asp.net MVC when passing parameters back?

    - by Rob Ellis
I have a page with a partialview on it which is a list of items. I have a button on it which shows the next 5 items. This is done via ajax:- using (Ajax.BeginForm("ShowUpdates", new AjaxOptions() { UpdateTargetId = "statusUpdateContainer", InsertionMode = InsertionMode.InsertAfter })) { <input type="submit" class="formbutton" value="Show More" style="width:100%;"/> } My partial view controller: [HttpPost] public ActionResult ShowUpdates(string page, string pagesize) { //get data code hidden here return PartialView("_statusUpdates"); } My question is that I need the 'page' variable to increment each time someone presses the form button which is contained within the partialview. How do I keep track of that variable?

Let's say you need to split a string by various delimiters including newline (/r, /n) and a few other 'special' character strings. For example: This is a sample %%% text &&& that I would like to split %%% into an array. I would like the following in the resulting string array (contents via index) [0]This is a sample [1]text [2]that I would [3]like to split [4]into an array. I would like to use C# Regex.Split() function. What is the regex expression to match on all of my delimiters? Thanks in advance

  • Shortcut for adding to List in a HashMap

    - by Damo
I often have a need to take a list of objects and group them into a Map based on a value contained in the object. Eg. take a list of Users and group by Country. My code for this usually looks like: Map<String, List<User>> usersByCountry = new HashMap<String, List<User>>(); for(User user : listOfUsers) { if(usersByCountry.containsKey(user.getCountry())) { //Add to existing list usersByCountry.get(user.getCountry()).add(user); } else { //Create new list List<User> users = new ArrayList<User>(1); users.add(user); usersByCountry.put(user.getCountry(), users); } } However I can't help thinking that this is awkward and some guru has a better approach. The closest I can see so far is the MultiMap from Google Collections. Are there any standard approaches? Thanks!

  • Why would this line throw exception for type initializer failed?

    - by Jaggu
I had a class: public class Constant { public static string ConnString = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["ConnString"].ConnectionString; } which would throw exception on LIVE: Type initialize failed for Constant ctor If I change the class to: public class Constant { public static string ConnString { get { return ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["ConnString"].ConnectionString; } } } it works. I wasted 2 hours behind this but I still don't know why would this happen. Any ideas? Note: The 1st class used to work on DEV environment but not on LIVE. The 2nd class works on DEV and also on Production. I am using VS2010 on production and Asp.Net 4.0 Website project. I am totally amazed by this inconsistency to say the least! Edit: This class was in App_Code folder.

  • C# web request with POST encoding question

    - by rlandster
On the MSDN site there is an example of some C# code that shows how to make a web request with POST'ed data. Here is an excerpt of that code: WebRequest request = WebRequest.Create ("http://www.contoso.com/PostAccepter.aspx "); request.Method = "POST"; string postData = "This is a test that posts this string to a Web server."; byte[] byteArray = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes (postData); // (*) request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"; request.ContentLength = byteArray.Length; Stream dataStream = request.GetRequestStream (); dataStream.Write (byteArray, 0, byteArray.Length); dataStream.Close (); WebResponse response = request.GetResponse (); ...more... The line marked (*) is the line that puzzles me. Shouldn't the data be encoded using the UrlEncode function than UTF8? Isn't that what application/x-www-form-urlencoded implies?
