  • Detect when home button is pressed iOS

    - by nick
    I have several iOS apps that all use the same port to listen for a network beacon. On the main view I use viewWillDisappear to close the port when another view is opened, which was working great. Then I noticed if I pressed the home button from the main view controller without opening another view to close the port, then the port stays open and non of my other apps can listen on that port any more. I then tried using viewWillUnload, but that doesn't seem to get called when I press the home button. -(void)viewWillUnload { //[super viewWillUnload]; NSLog(@"View will unload"); [udpSocket close]; udpSocket = nil; } View will unload is never displayed in the console, which leads me to believe that the method is never getting called. Is there a way to detect when the home button is pressed so I can close my port?

  • C++ : Swapping template class elements of different types?

    - by metamemetics
    template< class T1, class T2 > class Pair { T1 first; T2 second; }; I'm being asked to write a swap() method so that the first element becomes the second and the second the first. I have: Pair<T2,T1> swap() { return Pair<T2,T1>(second, first); } But this returns a new object rather than swapping, where I think it needs to be a void method that changes its own data members. Is this possible to do since T1 and T2 are potentially different class types? In other words I can't simply set temp=first, first=second, second=temp because it would try to convert them to different types. I'm not sure why you would potentially want to have a template object that changes order of its types as it seems that would cause confusion but that appears to be what I'm being asked to do.

  • Avoid stuck calling callback

    - by andlomba
    Hello all, This is a question about generic c++ event driven applications design. Lets assume that we have two threads, a "Dispatcher" (or "Engine"...) and a "Listener" (or "Client"...). Let's assume that I write the Dispatcher code, and release it as a library. I also write the Listener interface, of course. When the Dispatcher executes (after Listener registration) listenerInstance.onSomeEvent(); the event handling code will actually be executed by the Dispatcher thread, so if the person that implements the Listener writes something like void Listener::onSomeEvent() { while(true) ; } The Dispatcher will stuck forever. Is there a "plain old c++" (I mean no boost or libsigc++) way to "decouple" the two classes, so I can be sure that my Dispatcher will work fine whatever the Listeners does in the callbacks? bye and thanks in advance, Andrea

  • staying within boundaries of image?

    - by codefail
    So I am to loop through copyFrom.pixelData and copy it into pixelData. I realize that I need to check the conditions of i and j, and have them not copy past the boundaries of pixelData[x][y], I need another 2 loops for that? I tried this, but was getting segmentation fault.. Is this the right approach? void Image::insert(int xoff, int yoff, const Image& copyFrom, Color notCopy) { for (int x = xoff; x < xoff+copyFrom.width; x++) { for (int y = yoff; y < yoff+copyFrom.height; y++) { for (int i = 0; i<width; i++){ for (int j = 0; j<height; j++){ if (copyFrom.pixelData[i][j].colorDistance(notCopy)>20 ) pixelData[x][y]=copyFrom.pixelData[i][j]; } } } } }

  • No Hibernate Session bound to thread exception

    - by Benchik
    I have Hibernate 3.6.0.Final and Spring 3.0.0.RELEASE I get "No Hibernate Session bound to thread, and configuration does not allow creation of non-transactional one here" If I add the thread specification back in, I get "saveOrUpdate is not valid without active transaction" Any ideas? • Java: global values inside a class?

    I want less methods. I want a common global TestClass from which I could use any of its value inside the class. import java.util.*; import java.io.*; public class TestClass { TestClass(String hello){ String hallo = hello; String halloSecond = "Saluto!"; } public static void main(String[] args) { TestClass test = new TestClass("Tjena!"); System.out.println("I want "Tjena!": " + test.hallo); TestClass testSecond = new TestClass("1"); System.out.println("I want Saluto!:" + test.halloSecond); System.out.println("I want Saluto!:" + testSecond.halloSecond); } }

  • Is there kind of runtime C++ assembler library around?

    - by Anton
    Hi guys! For my small hobby project I need to emit machine code from C++ program in runtime. I have base address 0xDEADBEEF and want to write something like this: Assembler a((void*)0xDEADBEEF); a.Emit() << Push(Reg::Eax) << Push(Reg::Ebx) << Jmp(0xFEFEFEFE); Inline assembler isn't my choice because generated machine code is dependent of the program state. Does anybody know any existing library for doing this? If no, would it be a good idea to develop one from scratch and make it open source? (I mean, will anybody ever use this library if it existed?)

  • Not found in protocol

    - by Alex
    I've subclassed MKAnnotation so that i can assign objects to annotations and then assign this object to a view controller like so: - (void)mapView:(MKMapView *)mapView annotationView:(MKAnnotationView *)view calloutAccessoryControlTapped:(UIControl *)control { PlaceDetailView *detailView = [[PlaceDetailView alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewStyleGrouped]; detailView.place = [view.annotation place]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:detailView animated:YES]; [detailView release]; } This is working great but i'm having the following issues: If i try and access the place getter method like so view.annotation.place i recieve an error: Accessing unknown place getter method If i acces the place getter method like so [view.annotation place] i receive a warning: place not found in protocol From my understanding this is because the place object is not defined in the MKAnnotation protocol, although i'm aware of this i'm not sure how to tell the complier that place does exist and it's not calling it blind.

  • Nested fragments survive screen rotation

    - by ievgen
    I've faced with an issue with Nested Fragments in Android. When I rotate the screen the Nested Fragments survive somehow. I've come up with a sample example to illustrate this issue. public class ParentFragment extends BaseFragment { @Override public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) { return inflater.inflate(R.layout.fragment_parent, container); } @Override public void onViewCreated(View view, Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onViewCreated(view, savedInstanceState); getChildFragmentManager() .beginTransaction() .add(getId(), new ParentFragmentChild(), ParentFragmentChild.class.getName()) .commit(); } @Override public void onResume() { super.onResume(); log.verbose("onResume(), numChildFragments: " + getChildFragmentManager().getFragments().size()); } } public class ParentFragmentChild extends BaseFragment { @Override public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) { return inflater.inflate(R.layout.fragment_child, null); } } BaseFragment just logs method calls. This is what I see when I rotate the screen. When Activity initially appears ParentFragment? onAttach(): ParentFragment{420d0a98 #0 id=0x7f060064} ParentFragment? onCreate() ParentFragment? onViewCreated() ParentFragmentChild? onAttach(): ParentFragmentChild{420d08d0 #0 id=0x7f060064 com.kinoteatr.ua.filmgoer.test.ParentFragmentChild} ParentFragmentChild? onCreate() ParentFragmentChild? onViewCreated() ParentFragment? onResume() ParentFragment? onResume(), numChildFragments: 1 ParentFragmentChild? onResume() Screen rotation #1 ParentFragmentChild? onPause() ParentFragment? onPause() ParentFragment? onSaveInstanceState() ParentFragmentChild? onSaveInstanceState() ParentFragmentChild? onStop() ParentFragment? onStop() ParentFragmentChild? onDestroyView() ParentFragment? onDestroyView() ParentFragmentChild? onDestroy() ParentFragmentChild? onDetach() ParentFragment? onDestroy() ParentFragment? onDetach() ParentFragment? onAttach(): ParentFragment{4211bc38 #0 id=0x7f060064} ParentFragment? onCreate() ParentFragmentChild? onAttach(): ParentFragmentChild{420f4180 #0 id=0x7f060064 com.kinoteatr.ua.filmgoer.test.ParentFragmentChild} ParentFragmentChild? onCreate() ParentFragment? onViewCreated() ParentFragmentChild? onViewCreated() ParentFragmentChild? onAttach(): ParentFragmentChild{42132a08 #1 id=0x7f060064 com.kinoteatr.ua.filmgoer.test.ParentFragmentChild} ParentFragmentChild? onCreate() ParentFragmentChild? onViewCreated() ParentFragment? onResume() ParentFragment? onResume(), numChildFragments: 2 ParentFragmentChild? onResume() ParentFragmentChild? onResume() Screen rotation #2 ParentFragmentChild? onPause() ParentFragmentChild? onPause() ParentFragment? onPause() ParentFragment? onSaveInstanceState() ParentFragmentChild? onSaveInstanceState() ParentFragmentChild? onSaveInstanceState() ParentFragmentChild? onStop() ParentFragmentChild? onStop() ParentFragment? onStop() ParentFragmentChild? onDestroyView() ParentFragmentChild? onDestroyView() ParentFragment? onDestroyView() ParentFragmentChild? onDestroy() ParentFragmentChild? onDetach() ParentFragmentChild? onDestroy() ParentFragmentChild? onDetach() ParentFragment? onDestroy() ParentFragment? onDetach() ParentFragment? onAttach(): ParentFragment{42122a48 #0 id=0x7f060064} ParentFragment? onCreate() ParentFragmentChild? onAttach(): ParentFragmentChild{420ffd48 #0 id=0x7f060064 com.kinoteatr.ua.filmgoer.test.ParentFragmentChild} ParentFragmentChild? onCreate() ParentFragmentChild? onAttach(): ParentFragmentChild{420fffa0 #1 id=0x7f060064 com.kinoteatr.ua.filmgoer.test.ParentFragmentChild} ParentFragmentChild? onCreate() ParentFragment? onViewCreated() ParentFragmentChild? onViewCreated() ParentFragmentChild? onViewCreated() ParentFragmentChild? onAttach(): ParentFragmentChild{42101488 #2 id=0x7f060064 com.kinoteatr.ua.filmgoer.test.ParentFragmentChild} ParentFragmentChild? onCreate() ParentFragmentChild? onViewCreated() ParentFragment? onResume() ParentFragment? onResume(), numChildFragments: 3 ParentFragmentChild? onResume() ParentFragmentChild? onResume() ParentFragmentChild? onResume() They keep getting multiplied. • Unresolved External Symbol

    - by TomO
    I am working on wrapping a large number of .h and .lib files from native C++ to Managed C++ for eventual use as a referenced .dll in C#. I have the .lib files linked in and everything has been going smoothly so far. Upon wrapping the latest .h file, I hit a snag when 2 functions came back with the link error: error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol __imp__htonl@4 referenced in function "public: void __thiscall Field::setCharacter(unsigned char,int)" (?setCharacter@Field@@QAEXEH@Z) myutils.lib I have referenced "myutils.lib" in the linker options, so that shouldn't be the issue. What's strange is that I have about 20 functions in this particular .h file and all of the rest are linking just fine except for 3 functions. Any ideas?

  • Const Functions and Interfaces in C++

    - by 58gh1z
    I'll use the following (trivial) interface as an example: struct IObject { virtual ~IObject() {} virtual std::string GetName() const = 0; virtual void ChangeState() = 0; }; Logic dictates that GetName should be a const member function while ChangeState shouldn't. All code that I've seen so far doesn't follow this logic, though. That is, GetName in the example above wouldn't be marked as a const member function. Is this laziness/carelessness or is there a legitimate reason for this? What are the major cons of me forcing my clients to implement const member functions when they are logically called for?

  • @Secured not working

    - by user3640507
    I am new to spring and trying to implement Role based authorization with the help of @Secured annotation. I have a method which is specifically for ADMIN and I have written @Secured ("ROLE_ADMIN") to secure it. @Secured ("ROLE_ADMIN") public void HelloUser(String name) { System.out.println("Hello ADMIN"); } Now when I call this method by creating a class object it gets called eventhough user dont have ADMIN authority But when I dont create an object and use @autowired annotation instead then it works i.e User is not allowed to access this method. In my security.xml as well as servlet.xml I have added <global-method-security secured-annotations="enabled" /> Can some one please tell me where I am going wrong or is this the natural behaviour in spring ?

  • Can you call compiled JRuby classes from java?

    - by John Baker
    So I came up with the general idea to write some code in JRuby, then access all the classes via Java. I have no idea if this is at all possible but I wanted to ask anyway. Lets say I have some JRuby code: class adder def addme return 22 end end If I compiled this with jrubyc is there any way I could then possibly do something like this in java: import adder; class anything { void testMethod() { adder a = new adder(); int x = a.addme(); } } After looking at it now it sort of makes me think that Java will have zero idea what sort of item test addme is going to return so that might not work. I don't know but I wanted to throw it out there anyway. Thanks

  • Problems with variadic macros in C

    - by imikedaman
    Hi, I'm having a problem with optional arguments in #define statements in C, or more specifically with gcc 4.2: bool func1(bool tmp) { return false; } void func2(bool tmp, bool tmp2) {} #define CALL(func, tmp, ...) func(tmp, ##__VA_ARGS__) int main() { // this compiles CALL(func2, CALL(func1, false), false); // this fails with: Implicit declaration of function 'CALL' CALL(func2, false, CALL(func1, false)); } That's obviously a contrived example, but does show the problem. Does anyone know how I can get the optional arguments to "resolve" correctly? Additional information: If I remove the ## before _VA_ARGS_, and do something like this: bool func2(bool tmp, bool tmp2) { return false; } #define CALL(func, tmp, ...) func(tmp, __VA_ARGS__) int main() { CALL(func2, false, CALL(func2, false, false)); } That compiles, but it no longer works with zero arguments since it would resolve to func(tmp, )

  • Java AD Authentication across Trusted Domains

    - by benjiisnotcool
    I am trying to implement Active Directory authentication in Java which will be ran from a Linux machine. Our AD set-up will consist of multiple servers that share trust relationships with one another so for our test environment we have two domain controllers: test1.ad1.foo.com who trusts test2.ad2.bar.com. Using the code below I can successfully authenticate a user from test1 but not on test2: public class ADDetailsProvider implements ResultSetProvider { private String domain; private String user; private String password; public ADDetailsProvider(String user, String password) { //extract domain name if (user.contains("\\")) { this.user = user.substring((user.lastIndexOf("\\") + 1), user.length()); this.domain = user.substring(0, user.lastIndexOf("\\")); } else { this.user = user; this.domain = ""; } this.password = password; } /* Test from the command line */ public static void main (String[] argv) throws SQLException { ResultSetProvider res = processADLogin(argv[0], argv[1]); ResultSet results = null; res.assignRowValues(results, 0); System.out.println(argv[0] + " " + argv[1]); } public boolean assignRowValues(ResultSet results, int currentRow) throws SQLException { // Only want a single row if (currentRow >= 1) return false; try { ADAuthenticator adAuth = new ADAuthenticator(); LdapContext ldapCtx = adAuth.authenticate(this.domain, this.user, this.password); NamingEnumeration userDetails = adAuth.getUserDetails(ldapCtx, this.user); // Fill the result set (throws SQLException). while (userDetails.hasMoreElements()) { Attribute attr = (Attribute)userDetails.next(); results.updateString(attr.getID(), attr.get().toString()); } results.updateInt("authenticated", 1); return true; } catch (FileNotFoundException fnf) { Logger.getAnonymousLogger().log(Level.WARNING, "Caught File Not Found Exception trying to read cris_authentication.properties"); results.updateInt("authenticated", 0); return false; } catch (IOException ioe) { Logger.getAnonymousLogger().log(Level.WARNING, "Caught IO Excpetion processing login"); results.updateInt("authenticated", 0); return false; } catch (AuthenticationException aex) { Logger.getAnonymousLogger().log(Level.WARNING, "Caught Authentication Exception attempting to bind to LDAP for [{0}]", this.user); results.updateInt("authenticated", 0); return true; } catch (NamingException ne) { Logger.getAnonymousLogger().log(Level.WARNING, "Caught Naming Exception performing user search or LDAP bind for [{0}]", this.user); results.updateInt("authenticated", 0); return true; } } public void close() { // nothing needed here } /** * This method is called via a Postgres function binding to access the * functionality provided by this class. */ public static ResultSetProvider processADLogin(String user, String password) { return new ADDetailsProvider(user, password); } } public class ADAuthenticator { public ADAuthenticator() throws FileNotFoundException, IOException { Properties props = new Properties(); InputStream inStream = this.getClass().getClassLoader(). getResourceAsStream("com/bar/foo/ad/authentication.properties"); props.load(inStream); this.domain = props.getProperty("ldap.domain"); inStream.close(); } public LdapContext authenticate(String domain, String user, String pass) throws AuthenticationException, NamingException, IOException { Hashtable env = new Hashtable(); this.domain = domain; env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory); env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ldap://" + test1.ad1.foo.com + ":" + 3268); env.put(Context.SECURITY_AUTHENTICATION, simple); env.put(Context.REFERRAL, follow); env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, (domain + "\\" + user)); env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, pass); // Bind using specified username and password LdapContext ldapCtx = new InitialLdapContext(env, null); return ldapCtx; } public NamingEnumeration getUserDetails(LdapContext ldapCtx, String user) throws NamingException { // List of attributes to return from LDAP query String returnAttributes[] = {"ou", "sAMAccountName", "givenName", "sn", "memberOf"}; //Create the search controls SearchControls searchCtls = new SearchControls(); searchCtls.setReturningAttributes(returnAttributes); //Specify the search scope searchCtls.setSearchScope(SearchControls.SUBTREE_SCOPE); // Specify the user to search against String searchFilter = "(&(objectClass=*)(sAMAccountName=" + user + "))"; //Perform the search NamingEnumeration answer = ldapCtx.search("dc=dev4,dc=dbt,dc=ukhealth,dc=local", searchFilter, searchCtls); // Only care about the first tuple Attributes userAttributes = ((SearchResult)answer.next()).getAttributes(); if (userAttributes.size() <= 0) throw new NamingException(); return (NamingEnumeration) userAttributes.getAll(); } From what I understand of the trust relationship, if trust1 receives a login attempt for a user in trust2, then it should forward the login attempt on to it and it works this out from the user's domain name. Is this correct or am I missing something or is this not possible using the method above? --EDIT-- The stack trace from the LDAP bind is {java.naming.provider.url=ldap://test1.ad1.foo.com:3268, java.naming.factory.initial=com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory, java.naming.security.authentication=simple, java.naming.referral=follow} 30-Oct-2012 13:16:02 ADDetailsProvider assignRowValues WARNING: Caught Authentication Exception attempting to bind to LDAP for [trusttest] Auth error is [LDAP: error code 49 - 80090308: LdapErr: DSID-0C0903A9, comment: AcceptSecurityContext error, data 52e, v1db0]

  • Why are Java primitive types' modifiers `public`, `abstract`, & `final`?

    - by oconnor0
    In the process of doing some reflection on Java types, I came across an oddity that I do not understand. Inspecting int for its modifiers returns public, abstract, and final. I understand public and final, but the presence of abstract on a primitive type is non-obvious to me. Why is this the case? Edit: I am not reflecting on Integer but on int: import java.lang.reflect.Modifier; public class IntegerReflection { public static void main(final String[] args) { System.out.println(String.format("int.class == Integer.class -> %b", int.class == Integer.class)); System.out.println(String.format("int.class modifiers: %s", Modifier.toString(int.class.getModifiers()))); System.out.println(String.format("Integer.class modifiers: %s", Modifier.toString(Integer.class.getModifiers()))); } } The output when run: int.class == Integer.class -> false int.class modifiers: public abstract final Integer.class modifiers: public final

  • Make the Enter key act like the submit button

    - by Michael Quiles
    How can I make it where some one presses the enter key on my form it will submit this code ? Ive tried the ligtning bolt events etc... but I can't seem to figure it out. private void xTripSubmitButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Calculates the numbers from the input and output boxes/labels Miles = double.Parse(this.xTripDestinationTextBox.Text); Mpg = double.Parse(this.xTripMpgTextBox.Text); Price = double.Parse(this.xTripPricepgTextBox.Text); Output = Miles / Mpg; Coutput = Output * Price; //displays a message and the result for the numbers the user inputs this.xTripOutputLabel.Text = "Total gallons you would use: " + Output.ToString("0") + Environment.NewLine + "Total amount it will cost you: " + Coutput.ToString("C"); }
