• Getting Paperclip to work in Rails

  Whenever two concurrent HTTP requests go to my Rails app, the second always returns the following error: A copy of ApplicationController has been removed from the module tree but is still active! From there it gives an unhelpful stack trace to the effect of "we went through the standard server stuff, ran your first before_filter on ApplicationController (and I checked; it's just whichever filter runs first)", then offers the following: /home/matchu/rails/torch/vendor/rails/activesupport/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:414:in `load_missing_constant' /home/matchu/rails/torch/vendor/rails/activesupport/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:96:in `const_missing' which I'm assuming is a generic response and doesn't really say much. Google seems to tell me that people developing Rails Engines will encounter this, but I don't do that. All I've done is upgrade my Rails app from 2.2 (2.1?) to 2.3. What are some possible causes for this error, and how can I go about tracking down what's really going on? I know this question is vague, so would any other information be helpful? More importantly: I tried doing a test run in a "production" environment just now, and the error doesn't seem to persist. Does this only affect development, then, and need I not worry too much?

• addNotify not works allright

  Hello. I call addNotify() method in class that I posted here. The problem is, that when I call addNotify() as it is in the code, setKeys(objs) do nothing. Nothing appears in my explorer of running app. But when I call addNotify()without loop(for int....), and add only one item to ArrayList, it shows that one item correctly. Does anybody knows where can be problem?   I am writing a gem which provides helpers for views. The HTML I want to insert via the helper is complex enough that I'd rather write it in a _partial.html.erb file. How do I get the gem's view path include in the application's load_path? Note: the only gem I've found that does something like this is Devise.   Hi, i'm building a website in php and i have tables presented that i need to allow the user to: 1. add new entry (only one at a time, which should appear as a new modal overlay) 2. delete multiple selected entries from 3. edit an existing entry (only one at one time, in a view similar to 1.) 4. re-arrange entries up and down. One by one is fine. Multiple / Grouping rearrangements are not not needed what jquery / js / anything toolkit would be the SIMPLEST to work with? (of course, i should be able to work with it in php). I did try hacking away at: http://www.ericmmartin.com/projects/simplemodal/ but had a terrible time trying to get it to work on editing some existing data (had problem passing data to it).

  Hi there, I am combing the jQuery validation plug-in with the jQuery Form Plugin to submit the form via AJAX. This works perfectly in Firefox & Chrome, but (as usual) Internet Explorer is being a pain. For reasons that are alluding me, IE is ignoring the ajaxSubmit, as a result it submits the form in the normal fashion. • Launching an external application from within a NPAPI Plugin

  I am trying to work out why an NPAPI plugin I have written, which works fine in terms of performing operations triggered via Javascipt calls, cannot use CreateProcess() or ShellExecute() to launch an application from a path specified via the Javascript call. I can seemingly use either of these methods and they return success, i.e. no error code. But the application just does not launch. I have tried modifying the parameters used when calling them, to create new process group etc. But seemingly with no effect. I know this may seem like a bit of a security risk, but for the very specific purpose we wish to use it for it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks.

  We're having a significant number of problems creating a bulk upload function for our little app. We're using the FasterCSV gem to upload data to a MySQL database but he Faster CSV is so twitchy and precise in its requirements that it constantly breaks with malformed CSV errors and time out errors. The csv files are generally created by users' pasting text from their web sites or from Microsoft Word docs so it is not reasonable to expect that there will never be odd characters like smart quotes or accents in the data. Also users aren't going to be readily able to identify whether their data is perfect enough for FasterCSV or not. We need to find a way to fix it for them automatically. Is there a good way or a reliable tool for pre-processing CSV data to fix any nits in the data before having the FasterCSV gem process it?

• Phonegap: Slow response with vibrate notification

  I created a simple android application with jquery and phonegap. When testing the app with phone, I noticed that vibration effect, that I have used to indicate that user touches a button, comes after a delay of maybe 0,5 seconds. This is way too long delay and just confuses the user. Is this just the downside of using phonegap? Or is there any configuration or additional frameworks which could be used to make the app response and produce the vibration more quickly?   Hi, I am creating hotel booking system which requires lots of modal dialogs. For this purpose I am using jqueryUI dialog widget. yesterday I embedded it on one of the features of application but this time when dialog opens upon click then its Header is very large about 300-400px in height where as normal header is about 40px in height. Everywhere in the application it is still working fine but at only place it is giving such error. Css is also identical at all places. If anybody knows how to fix this issue then please post here.   Hello, I'm using Authlogic to manage my user sessions. I'm using the LDAP add-on, so I have the following in my users model acts_as_authentic do |c| c.validate_password_field = false end The problem is that recently I found out that there will be some users inside the application that won't be part of the LDAP (and can't be added!). So I would need to validate SOME passwords against the database and the others against the LDAP. The users whose password will be validated against the database will have an specific attribute that will tell me that that password will be validated in my database. How can I manage that? Is it possible that the validate_password_field receives a "variable"? That way I could create some method that will return true/false depending on where the password validation will be done? Thanks!   Hi, I'm using the jquery cluetip plugin and trying to figure out how to remove any open cluetip dialogs once i load new content via ajax. I am either stuck with the dialog boxes still showing on top of new content, or the ways i've tried to fix this actually remove all future cluetip dialogs from showing at all.
