    I am using a <% foreach ...% loop to list a collection of items on my website. I want to add a different background color for the style of alternating rows in my list. I have found a way to do this but I am not satisfied with it as it seems like a hack.   • Is there anything magic about ReadOnlyCollection

    Having this code... var b = new ReadOnlyCollection<int>(new[] { 2, 4, 2, 2 }); b[2] = 3; I get a compile error at the second line. I would expect a runtime error since ReadOnlyCollection<T> implements IList<T> and the this[T] have a setter in the IList<T> interface. I've tried to replicate the functionality of ReadOnlyCollection, but removing the setter from this[T] is a compile error.

    Adding some gui modifications and I want to have a button which is 10pixels away from the forms left and right border. With this code the right border of the button is around 20-30 pixel outside the form window. Why is that?   • C++ find method is not const?

    I've written a method that I'd like to declare as const, but the compiler complains. I traced through and found that this part of the method was causing the difficulty: bool ClassA::MethodA(int x) { bool y = false; if(find(myList.begin(), myList.end(), x) != myList.end()) { y = true; } return y; } There is more happening in the method than that, but with everything else stripped away, this was the part that didn't allow the method to be const. Why does the stl find algorithm prevent the method from being const? Does it change the list in any way?

    Having construction in a form: struct Node { Node():left_(nullptr), right_(nullptr) { } int id_; Node* left_; Node* right_; }; I would like to enable syntax: Node parent; Node child; parent.right_ = child; So in order to do so I need: Node& operator=(Node* left, Node right); but I'm getting msg that operator= has to be a member fnc; Is there any way to circumvent this restriction?

    I have a simple 2D array: int[,] m = {{0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0}, {0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0} }; How can I print this out onto a text file or something? I want to print the entire array onto a file, not just the contents. For example, I don't want a bunch of zeroes all in a row: I want to see the {{0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0}, {0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0} }; in it.

    Hi It seems that Objective C jumps thru hoops to make seemingly simple tasks extremely difficult. I simply need to create a sequence of strings, image1.jpg, image2.jpg, etc etc ie in a loop var imgString:String='image'+i+'.jpg; I assume a best practice is to use a NSMutableString with appendString method? What am I doing wrong??     Okay guys, this is similar to my repeatEnd and wordEnds efforts; I want to solve this codingBat Warmup-2 question using only regex-based techniques as a "brain gymnastics" exercise. This solution works for codingBat tests: public int last2(String str) { return str.isEmpty() ? 0 : str.split( str.replaceAll( ".*(.)(.)", "$1(?=$2)" //.replaceAll("(\\$.)", "\\\\\\\\Q$1\\\\\\\\E") ), -1 ).length - 1 - 1; } The monstrous octo-slashes aren't needed to pass codingBat, but is needed for a proper regex-based solution. That is, if I want this (and I do!): assert last2("..+++...++") == 2; I'd have to uncomment the second .replaceAll. I'm just wondering if others can come up with a simpler, more elegant regex solution for this problem. Preferably one that doesn't contain octo-slashes.

  • Android app (with felix) crashes with LinearAlloc exceeded capacity

    I am running apache felix and an osgi app on android (3.2). This works pretty well so far, but I have rather large chunks of data to load into the application (osgi bundles). The problem with that is that when I load the biggest chunk of data I get LinearAlloc exceeded capacity The error seems to come from LinearAlloc.c \#define DEFAULT_MAX_LENGTH (4*1024*1024) if (nextOffset > pHdr->mapLength) { /* * We don't have to abort here. I'm having a really difficult time figuring out if VB6's SOAP type (version 1) can handle a returned object (as opposed to simple types like string, int, etc.). So far I can't figure out what I need to do to get VB6 to play with returned objects. So I thought I might serialize the response in the web service as a JSON string.
