• Why does my UIWebView not Allow User Interaction?

  Hi, I'm new to these forums so I apologize for my noobieness. I did as thorough a search as I could, but I couldn't find anyone else with this issue, applogise if this has been covered elsewhere. I've created a very simple example of my problem. I'm sure I'm missing something but I can't for the life of me figure out what. I'm creating a UIWebView and adding it to a custom view controller that inherits from UIViewController. When the app loads in the iPad simulator, the uiwebview loads the desired page, but the UIWebView is entirely unresponsive. The webview does not pan or scroll and none of the in page links can be clicked. However, if you change the orientation of the webview suddleny everything works. Thanks in advance for your help!! • Three20 JSON problem: Can deploy to simulator but not device (extThree20JSON)

  Everything builds and runs in the simulator fine ... but when I attempt to run on device I get: "arm-apple-darwin10-gcc-4.2.1: ..../three20/Build/Products/Debug-iphoneos/libextThree20JSON+YAJL.a: No such file or directory" I check that directory and indeed the file doesn't exist. It does exist in the "Debug-iphoneosimulator" though (which I guess explains why it works in the simulator). So what gives and what can I do to correct this? Thanks

• Grouped UITableView shows blank space when section is empty

  Hello, I have a grouped UITableView where not all sections may be displayed at once, the table is driven by some data that not every record may have. My trouble is that the records that don't have certain sections show up as blank spaces in the table (see picture) There are no footers/headers. • key value coding-compliant for NSObject class?

  I've created a singleton class that loads a plist. I keep getting this error when I try to set a value: '[ setValue:forUndefinedKey:]: this class is not key value coding-compliant for the key test.' I have one key in the plist file. The key is named "test" and has no value associated with it. I set the value like this: [[PlistManager sharedManager].plist setValue:@"the title value" forKey:@"test"]; I look at the set plist dictionary and see this from within PlistManager: po self.plistDictionary { test = ""; } I get the error just as I'm leaving PlistManager in the debugger. PlistManager is of type NSObject. So no xibs. Any ideas on what I need to do?

• Strange padding/margin when using UIWebView

  Hello, I am creating an app that is having a UIWebView which contains an advert. The size of the view is the same as the advert (image) itself. Still, there is a white margin/padding of some kind above and to the left of the image, inside the UIWebView.   Hi there, I am using SQLITE database in my iPhone app. I have a refresh button on my home screen and on click of that refresh button I usually fetch the data from my web service and store it into my database. In normal scenario it works fine but when I click my refresh button 4-5 times frequently my app crashes and My app log Shows "Unable to open the database" I am not sure why I am getting this SQLLITE error. • iPhone: Fastest way to create a binary Plist with simple key/value strings

  What's the best way to create a binary plist on the iPhone with simple string based key/value pairs? I need to create a plist with a list of recipe and ingredients. I then want to be able to read this into an NSDictionary so I can do something like NSString *ingredients = [recipes objectForKey:@"apple pie"]; I'm reading in an XML data file through an HTTP request and want to parse all of the key value pairs into the plist. The XML might look something like: <recipes> <recipe> <name>apple pie</name> <ingredients>apples and pie</ingredients> </recipe> <recipe> <name>cereal</name> <ingredients>milk and some other ingredients</ingredients> </recipe> </recipes> Ideally, I'll be able to write this to a plist at runtime, and then be able to read it and turn it into an NSDictionary later at runtime as well.

• What's an efficient way of calculating the nearest point?

  I have objects with location data stored in Core Data, I would like to be able to fetch and display just the nearest point to the current location. I'm aware there are formulas which will calculate the distance from current lat/long to a stored lat/long, but I'm curious about the best way to perform this for a set of 1000+ points stored in Core Data. I know I could just return the points from Core Data to an array and then loop through that looking for the min value for distance between the points but I'd imagine there's a more efficient method, possibly leveraging Core Data in some way. Any insight would be appreciated. EDIT: I don't know how I missed this on my initial search but this SO question suggests just iterating through an array of Core Data objects but limiting the array size with a bounding box based on the current location. Is this the best I can do?

  I have an app based on the CoreDataBooks example that uses an addingManagedObjectContext to add an Ingredient to a Cocktail in order to undo the entire add. The CocktailsDetailViewController in turn calls a BrandPickerViewController to (optionally) set a brand name for a given ingredient. Cocktail, Ingredient and Brand are all NSManagedObjects. Cocktail requires at least one Ingredient (baseLiquor) to be set, so I create it when the Cocktail is created. If I add the Cocktail in CocktailsAddViewController : CocktailsDetailViewController (merging into the Cocktail managed object context on save) without setting baseLiquor.brand, then it works to set the Brand from a picker (also stored in the Cocktails managed context) later from the CocktailsDetailViewController. However, if I try to set baseLiquor.brand in CocktailsAddViewController, I get: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'Illegal attempt to establish a relationship 'brand' between objects in different contexts' From this question I understand that the issue is that Brand is stored in the app's managedObjectContext and the newly added Ingredient and Cocktail are stored in addingManagedObjectContext, and that passing the ObjectID instead would avoid the crash. What I don't get is how to implement the picker generically so that all of the Ingredients (baseLiquor, mixer, garnish, etc.) can be set during the add, as well as one-by-one from the CocktailsDetailViewController after the Cocktail has been created.   Using an NSPredicate for an array is rather straight forward using filteredArrayUsingPredicate:. How is this done for key-path values? Meaning, I have an array of objects (in this case, the objects are of the same type). The objects each have an instance variable called name. As per the documentation, it says to do the following: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat: @"ANY employees.firstName like 'Matthew'"]; Is that -also- used in filteredArrayUsingPredicate?   I have myClass instantiated by my appDelegate, I have another class, newClass instantiated by myClass. From the newClass instance, I want to access a property in the myClass instance that created it. I have done this by: [[[UIApplication sharedApplication].delegate myClass] property] This works, I can actually get the property but I get this warning from Xcode: warning: "-myClass" not found in protocols warning: no "-myClass" method found (messages without a matching signature will be assumed to return "id" and accept "..." as arguments) The newClass property has been correctly declared in the .h and .m files, it's properties have been set and it has been synthesized. It compiles and runs and I can actually get the property's value. Should I ignore the warning in Xcode? Is there a better way to access the myClass instance's property?

• NSOperationQueue bug with dependencies

  I am using NSOperation and NSOperationQueue for performing a sequence of operations, all dependent on each other (2 on 1, 3 on 2, etc...). I set the dependency after I create the operations. I am encountering problems when the queue completes: the program crashes in the _release part of the code, apparently when the NSOperations are getting released. Note that they all get released at the end by the queue, because it is only after the very last one which depends on the second last one, which depends on etc... that they can be released. If I remove any dependency, the code runs fine. If I change waitUntilFinished: to NO, it crashes, if it is YES, it does not. I have isolated the problem to the following code which does not use any of my custom classes. NSOperation by default is a class that does absolutely nothing. Yet, this still crashes when all operations have completed. Therefore, it appears I am not using NSOperationQueue properly but can't see what is wrong. I am running on 10.9 and I have noticed that in general Maverick 10.9 is much more sensitive to these issues than 10.8. I think the crash is because of CGEventMaskBit(kCGEventKeyUp) when I create an event tap. But if I create event tap using CGEventTapCreate(kCGHIDEventTap,kCGHeadInsertEventTap,kCGEventTapOptionListenOnly,CGEventMaskBit(kCGEventFlagsChanged),&keyUpCallback,NULL), the application works fine.
