Just like I can select in C# project that I want it to build for .NET 2.0 runtime, is it possible for native c++ project to be built against older CRT, let's say one from visual studio 2005? I would like this because I have external SDK that was build with VS2005, but I'd like to use newer IDE.

  • using win32 api in linux ?

    I have heard of WINE but I don't like it because it's slow on the computers I have tested and almost always crashes. It also has some unpleasant looking gui. I am wondering if there is a "win32" library in c/c++ for linux that produces native linux code so that if I have my source code for windows, I can just recompile and produce a working linux application. Is this possible?

I'm trying to ressurrect UnderC C/C++ interpreter https://code.google.com/p/underc-fltk/ and I got it to compile with modern mingw compilers 3.4.5 and up, I need some experts advice on some topics: -Yacc/Bison grammar (example some problems with recognizing "unsigned" alone and "friend class") -ARM assembler only one function to call native os functions (X86 already there for windows and linux) -General improvements I expect it to work on WINCE, IPHONE, SYMBIAN in the near future.     Hey there, trying to install a ruby gem but I keep getting the following error: ERROR:failed to build gem native extension /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/bin/ruby extconf.rb mkmf.rb can't find header files for ruby at/System/ Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/lib/ruby/ruby.h I'm not exactly sure what is happening here. Is there anyone that knows what is going on and how to fix it? Thanks!

  • Help with \0 terminated strings in C#

    I'm using a low level native API where I send an unsafe byte buffer pointer to get a c-string value. So it gives me // using byte[255] c_str string s = new string(Encoding.ASCII.GetChars(c_str)); // now s == "heresastring\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0(etc)"; So obviously I'm not doing it right, how I get rid of the excess?

    I've found plenty of tutorials / questions on Stackoverflow that deal with copying char arrays from C/JNI side into something like a byte[] in Java, but not the other way around. I am using a native C library which expects a byte array. I simply want to get data from a byte[] in java, into preferably an unsigned char[] in C. Long story short: What is the best way of copying data from a jBytearray in JNI? Is there any way to detect it's size?

  • How to control the font size of html select boxes on iPhone

    Regular HTML select boxes (such as, e.g. found here), while being "chosen" are presented by the iPhone on a native widget that seems to totally ignore regular html font sizes and whatnot. It does some ellipsing when it goes too long, but the font is way too big for a list I want to present -- even on landscape, only about 35 characters can fit. Is there any way to tell the iPhone to use a smaller font there?

  • [PowerShell] Input encoding

    Hi! I need to get output of native application under PowerShell. The problem is, output is encoded with UTF-8 (no BOM), which PowerShell does not recognize and just converts those funky UTF chars directly into Unicode. I've found PowerShell has $OutputEncoding variable, but it does not seem to affect input data. Good ol' iconv is of no help either, since this unnecessary UTF8-as-if-ASCII = Unicode conversion takes place before the next pipeline member acquires data.

    I'm looking for a library (or plugin) that help me create a slideshow where (besides the simple ordering of images) I'm able to define the beginning and ending positions (either X/Y, or Zooms) for a given image and the plugin animates the intervening steps between them. Flash has a number of tools/libs like this, i'm sure jQuery has seen similar. Ideally something that offers a range of easing effects as well. I understand these elements are native to jQuery...i'm looking for a time-tested wrapper. thx

  • Android App Crashes On Second Run

    My app runs fine on first run. On the Menu I added two choices options and quit. options which set up a new intent who goes to a PreferenceActivity and quit which simply call: "android.os.Process.killProcess(android.os.Process.myPid());" On the second time I run my app (after I quit from inside the emulator) it crashes..   • Java API to create pdf with tables: any recommendations?

    I need to create a PDF containing some tables. When looking on google/stackoverflow the most frequent API seems to be iText but that's under the AGPL licence and thus not desirable for my purposes. I also frequently see apache pdfbox but that does not seem to have native support for tables (although a slightly hacky way was posted at Apache PDFBox Java library - Is there an API for creating tables? ) Does anyone have any recommendations?

    Subj. I need to sign/verify in native C++ (no .NET), using private key for signing, public key for verification. I saw few examples on MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms761363(VS.85).aspx) that demonstrate how to sign the document with CSP (I don't know what this means). For my case I need to create a "key" from the binary data array... can somebody help me with that? Thank you in advance.
