    Hi Guys var arr = new Array(); arr[0] = 'Departmental News' arr[1] = 'Departmental News' arr[2] = 'Another Cat' arr[3] = 'Another Cat' arr[4] = 'Departmental News' alert(arr) alert($.unique(arr)) In IE I get duplicates. In any other browser only the unique ones Any Ideas?

    I want to have an EC2 based cluster that can grow and shrink at will. No node will be special in any way nor do I want them to have to coordinate their names with any other nodes. I don't want to hard code the names since I want to use one image and spin them up as needed. I understand nodes have to have names to communicate, though. What's a good strategy for automatically and dynamically coming up with a name at start script time?

This is because loc is not serializable, but this shouldn't be problem because spring beans are a serializable proxies.     I'm interested in the way Sonic Living detects your iTunes library XML file. It prompts the user to approve its actions, then automatically uploads the XML file based on the client OS (and assuming the default installation path of iTunes). How the heck does it do that? None of the upload libraries I've looked at have this feature. They all assume that a user will click "Select file..." then browse around for the right thing to upload.

    I've got a function that requires const some_type** as an argument (some_type is a struct, and the function needs a pointer to an array of this type). I declared a local variable of type some_type*, and initialized it. Then I call the function as f(&some_array), and the compiler (gcc) says: error: invalid conversion from ‘some_type**’ to ‘const some_type**’ What's the problem here? Why can't I convert a variable to const?

I also realize that JPA can sit on top of various implementations, the implementation I am concerned with in this case, is Hibernate.
