    I am attempting to learn how to develop on the Android platform but do not quite understand the relationship between Activities and Views, because according to the documentation an Activity is link to a UI object that the user can interact with, but if this is the case where does the whole idea of Views come in?     Hello! There's photologue application, simple photo gallery for django, implementing Photo and Gallery objects. Gallery object has ManyToMany field, which references Photo objects. I need to be able to get list of all Photos for a given Gallery. Is it possible to add Gallery filter to Photo's admin page? If it's possible, how to do it best?

    Hi, I am using the xpath in php5 to parse a xml document. The problem I have is writing a foreach to correctly display the following array array(1) { [0]= object(SimpleXMLElement)#21 (2) { ["file"]= string(12) "value 1" ["folder"]= string(8) "value 2" } } Ideally i would like to get the value by using $row['file'] or $row['folder'].     Is there an easy way to get a summary string of the errors that have been added to a controller's modelstate? I'm looking to return this in an Ajax method and want the validation errors etc to be returned to the client (i.e. the view does not exist for this method call). Or do I have to loop through the modelstate and look at each object and extract the error text manually?

    I have a static collection of objects that will be frequently updated from multiple threads. Is it possible to lock individual objects in a collection instead of locking the entire collection so that only threads trying to access the same object in the collection would get blocked instead of every thread? If there is a better way to update objects in a collection from multiple threads, I'm all ears.

    Can somebody explain to me why this works (in Python 2.5) : class Foo(object): pass class Bar(Foo): pass print(Foo.__subclasses__()) but this doesn't : class Foo(): pass class Bar(Foo): pass print(Foo.__subclasses__()) The latter returns "AttributeError: class Foo has no attribute '__subclasses__'" but i'm not sure why. I know this is related to old-style vs. new-style classes but i'm not clear on why that would make this functionality unavailable.

For example: y <- new.env() with(y, x <- 1) f <- function(env,z) { with(env, x+z) } f(y,z=1) throws Error in eval(expr, envir, enclos) : object 'z' not found I am using environments to keep concurrently two sets of simulations apart (without refactoring my code, which I wrote for a single set of experiments).

Now I would like to implement my projects in an efficient way, whether it is a web project in PHP or an Android application.   • Parsing timestamp with retarded Python

    I want to parse a timestamp from a log file that has been written via datetime.datetime.now().strftime('%Y%m%d%H%M%S') and then compute the number of seconds that have passed since this timestamp. I know I could do it with datetime.datetime.strptime to get back a datetime object and then compute a timedelta. Problem is, the strptime function has been introduced with Python 2.5 and I'm using Python2.4.4 (an upgrade is not possible in my context). Any easy way to do this?

    I am trying to a redirect the user when they click on a specific button protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Server.Transfer("ControlPanel/Default.aspx"); } The problem is when I click Button1 it redirects me to another page localhost:57988/WebSite5/Default.aspx and the weirdest thing is it open another page with this link above, not the default page I have, but another but with the default.aspx page url that you see! Any suggestions?

    Is it possible to either use the System.IO.Path class, or some similar object to format a unix style path, providing similar functionality to the PATH class? For example, I can do: Console.WriteLine(Path.Combine("c:\\", "windows")); Which shows: "C:\\windows" But is I try a similar thing with forward slashes (/) it just reverses them for me. Console.WriteLine(Path.Combine("/server", "mydir")); Which shows: "/server\\mydir"
