  • ASP.NET TextBox TextChanged event not firing in custom EditorPart

    - by Ben Collins
    This is a classic sort of question, I suppose, but it seems that most people are interested in having the textbox cause a postback. I'm not. I just want the event to fire when a postback occurs. I have created a webpart with a custom editorpart. The editorpart renders with a textbox and a button. Clicking the button causes a dialog to open. When the dialog is closed, it sets the value of the textbox via javascript and then does __doPostBack using the ClientID of the editorpart. The postback happens, but the TextChanged event never fires, and I'm not sure if it's a problem with the way __doPostBack is invoked, or if it's because of the way I'm setting up the event handler, or something else. Here's what I think is the relevant portion of the code from the editorpart: protected override void CreateChildControls() { _txtListUrl = new TextBox(); _txtListUrl.ID = "targetSPList"; _txtListUrl.Style.Add(HtmlTextWriterStyle.Width, "60%"); _txtListUrl.ToolTip = "Select List"; _txtListUrl.CssClass = "ms-input"; _txtListUrl.Attributes.Add("readOnly", "true"); _txtListUrl.Attributes.Add("onChange", "__doPostBack('" + this.ClientID + "', '');"); _txtListUrl.Text = this.ListString; _btnListPicker = new HtmlInputButton(); _btnListPicker.Style.Add(HtmlTextWriterStyle.Width, "60%"); _btnListPicker.Attributes.Add("Title", "Select List"); _btnListPicker.ID = "browseListsSmtButton"; _btnListPicker.Attributes.Add("onClick", "mso_launchListSmtPicker()"); _btnListPicker.Value = "Select List"; this.AddConfigurationOption("News List", "Choose the list that serves as the data source.", new Control[] { _txtListUrl, _btnListPicker }); if (this.ShowViewSelection) { _txtListUrl.TextChanged += new EventHandler(_txtListUrl_TextChanged); _ddlViews = new DropDownList(); _ddlViews.ID = "_ddlViews"; this.AddConfigurationOption("View", _ddlViews); } } protected override void OnPreRender(EventArgs e) { ScriptLink.Register(this.Page, "PickerTreeDialog.js", true); string lastSelectedListId = string.Empty; if (!this.WebId.Equals(Guid.Empty) && !this.ListId.Equals(Guid.Empty)) { lastSelectedListId = SPHttpUtility.EcmaScriptStringLiteralEncode( string.Format("SPList:{0}?SPWeb:{1}:", this.ListId.ToString(), this.WebId.ToString())); } string script = "\r\n var lastSelectedListSmtPickerId = '" + lastSelectedListId + "';" + "\r\n function mso_launchListSmtPicker(){" + "\r\n if (!document.getElementById) return;" + "\r\n" + "\r\n var listTextBox = document.getElementById('" + SPHttpUtility.EcmaScriptStringLiteralEncode(_txtListUrl.ClientID) + "');" + "\r\n if (listTextBox == null) return;" + "\r\n" + "\r\n var serverUrl = '" + SPHttpUtility.EcmaScriptStringLiteralEncode(SPContext.Current.Web.ServerRelativeUrl) + "';" + "\r\n" + "\r\n var callback = function(results) {" + "\r\n if (results == null || results[1] == null || results[2] == null) return;" + "\r\n" + "\r\n lastSelectedListSmtPickerId = results[0];" + "\r\n var listUrl = '';" + "\r\n if (listUrl.substring(listUrl.length-1) != '/') listUrl = listUrl + '/';" + "\r\n if (results[1].charAt(0) == '/') results[1] = results[1].substring(1);" + "\r\n listUrl = listUrl + results[1];" + "\r\n if (listUrl.substring(listUrl.length-1) != '/') listUrl = listUrl + '/';" + "\r\n if (results[2].charAt(0) == '/') results[2] = results[2].substring(1);" + "\r\n listUrl = listUrl + results[2];" + "\r\n listTextBox.value = listUrl;" + "\r\n __doPostBack('" + this.ClientID + "','');" + "\r\n }" + "\r\n LaunchPickerTreeDialog('CbqPickerSelectListTitle','CbqPickerSelectListText','websLists','', serverUrl, lastSelectedListSmtPickerId,'','','/_layouts/images/smt_icon.gif','', callback);" + "\r\n }"; this.Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(typeof(ListPickerEditorPart), "mso_launchListSmtPicker", script, true); if ((!string.IsNullOrEmpty(_txtListUrl.Text) && _ddlViews.Items.Count == 0) || _listSelectionChanged) { _ddlViews.Items.Clear(); if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(_txtListUrl.Text)) { using (SPWeb web = SPContext.Current.Site.OpenWeb(this.WebId)) { foreach (SPView view in web.Lists[this.ListId].Views) { _ddlViews.Items.Add(new ListItem(view.Title, view.ID.ToString())); } } _ddlViews.Enabled = _ddlViews.Items.Count > 0; } else { _ddlViews.Enabled = false; } } base.OnPreRender(e); } void _txtListUrl_TextChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { this.SetPropertiesFromChosenListString(_txtListUrl.Text); _listSelectionChanged = true; } Any ideas? But the problem is i have to add a button in the bottom of screen which is not related to list view but List view covers all the screen.   • WPF ListBox not binding to INotifyCollectionChanged or INotifyPropertyChanged Events

    - by Gabe Anzelini
I have the following test code: private class SomeItem{ public string Title{ get{ return "something"; } } public bool Completed { get { return false; } set { } } } private class SomeCollection : IEnumerable<SomeItem>, INotifyCollectionChanged { private IList<SomeItem> _items = new List<SomeItem>(); public void Add(SomeItem item) { _items.Add(item); CollectionChanged(this, new NotifyCollectionChangedEventArgs(NotifyCollectionChangedAction.Reset)); } #region IEnumerable<SomeItem> Members public IEnumerator<SomeItem> GetEnumerator() { return _items.GetEnumerator(); } #endregion #region IEnumerable Members System.Collections.IEnumerator System.Collections.IEnumerable.GetEnumerator() { return _items.GetEnumerator(); } #endregion #region INotifyCollectionChanged Members public event NotifyCollectionChangedEventHandler CollectionChanged; #endregion } private SomeCollection collection = new SomeCollection(); private void Expander_Expanded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { var expander = (Expander) sender; var list = expander.DataContext as ITaskList; var listBox = (ListBox)expander.Content; //list.Tasks.CollectionChanged += CollectionChanged; collection.Add(new SomeItem()); collection.Add(new SomeItem()); listBox.ItemsSource = collection; } and the XAML the outer listbox gets populated on load. when the expander gets expanded i then set the itemssource property of the inner listbox (the reason i do this hear instead of using binding is this operation is quite slow and i only want it to take place if the use chooses to view the items). The inner listbox renders fine, but it doesn't actually subscribe to the CollectionChanged event on the collection. I have tried this with ICollection instead of IEnumerable and adding INotifyPropertyChanged as well as replacing INotifyCollectionChanged with INotifyPropertyChanged. The only way I can actually get this to work is to gut my SomeCollection class and inherit from ObservableCollection. My reasoning for trying to role my own INotifyCollectionChanged instead of using ObservableCollection is because I am wrapping a COM collection in the real code. That collection will notify on add/change/remove and I am trying to convert these to INotify events for WPF. Hope this is clear enough (its late).

  • Create a subarray reference in C# (using unsafe ?)

    - by Wam
Hello there, I'm refactoring a library we currently use, and I'm faced with the following problem. We used to have the following stuff : class Blah { float[][] data; public float[] GetDataReference(int index) { return data[index]; } } For various reasons, I have replaced this jagged array version with a 1 dimensionnal array version, concatenating inner arrays. My question is : how can I still return a reference to a sub array of data ? class Blah { float[] data; int rows; public float[] GetDataReference(int index) { // Return a reference data from offset i to offset j; } } I was thinking that unsafe and pointers stuff may be of use, is it doable ?

  • Managing subviews in Cocoa Touch

    - by brainfsck
Hi, I'm developing an iPhone app. I need to create a Quiz application that has different Question views embedded in it (see my similar question). Different types of Question will have different behavior, so I plan to create a controller class for each type of Question. The MultipleChoiceQuestionController would set up a question and 3-4 buttons for the user to select an answer. Similarly, the IdentifyPictureQuestionController would load an image and present a text box to the user. However, the docs say that a UIViewController should only be used for views that take up the entire application window. How else can I create a class to manage events in my subviews? Thanks,

  • NHibernate: Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute

    - by Daoming Yang
Hi All, I'm currently struggling with this "Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute" issue. I have searched about this error message, and it's all related to the foreach statement. I do have the some foreach statements, but they are just simply representing the data. I did not using any remove or add inside the foreach statement. NOTE: The error randomly happens (about 4-5 times a day). The application is the MVC website. There are about 5 users operate this applications (about 150 orders a day). Could it be some another users modified the collection, and then occur this error? I have log4net setup and the settings can be found here Make sure that the controller has a parameterless public constructor I do have parameterless public constructor in AdminProductController Does anyone know why this happen and how to resolve this issue? A friend (Oskar) mentioned that "Theory: Maybe the problem is that your configuration and session factory is initialized on the first request after application restart. If a second request comes in before the first request is finished, maybe it will also try to initialize and then triggering this problem somehow." Many thanks. • Spring rejecting bean name, no URL paths specified

    - by richever
I am trying to register an interceptor using a annotation-driven controller configuration. As far as I can tell, I've done everything correctly but when I try testing the interceptor nothing happens. After looking in the logs I found the following: 2010-04-04 20:06:18,231 DEBUG [main] support.AbstractAutowireCapableBeanFactory (AbstractAutowireCapableBeanFactory.java:452) - Finished creating instance of bean 'org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.annotation.DefaultAnnotationHandlerMapping#0' 2010-04-04 20:06:18,515 DEBUG [main] handler.AbstractDetectingUrlHandlerMapping (AbstractDetectingUrlHandlerMapping.java:86) - Rejected bean name 'org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.annotation.DefaultAnnotationHandlerMapping#0': no URL paths identified 2010-04-04 20:06:19,109 DEBUG [main] support.AbstractBeanFactory (AbstractBeanFactory.java:241) - Returning cached instance of singleton bean 'org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.annotation.DefaultAnnotationHandlerMapping#0' Look at the second line of this log snippet. Is Spring rejecting the DefaultAnnotationHandlerMapping bean? And if so could this be the problem with my interceptor not working? What does the error I mentioned above actually mean and could it have any bearing on the interceptor not being called? Thanks!

  • Spring Security - Persistent Remember Me Issue

    - by Taylor L
I've been trying to track down why Spring Security isn't creating the Spring Security remember me cookie (SPRING_SECURITY_REMEMBER_ME_COOKIE). At first glance, the logs make it seem like the login is failing, but the login is actually successful in the sense that if I navigate to a page that requires authentication I am not redirected back to the login page. • Inner synchronization on the same object as the outer synchronization

    - by Yaneeve
Recently I attended a lecture concerning some design patterns: The following code had been displayed: public static Singleton getInstance() { if (instance == null) { synchronized(Singleton.class) { //1 Singleton inst = instance; //2 if (inst == null) { synchronized(Singleton.class) { //3 inst = new Singleton(); //4 } instance = inst; //5 } } } return instance; } taken from: Double-checked locking: Take two My question has nothing to do with the above mentioned pattern but with the synchronized block: Is there any benefit whatsoever to the double synchronization done in lines 1 & 3 with regards to the fact that the synchronize operation is done on the same Object?

  • Repository Pattern and Entity Framework.

    - by vitorcast
Hi people, I want to make an implementation with repository pattern with ASP.NET MVC 2 and Entity Framework but I have had some issues in the process. First of all, I have 2 entities that has a relationship between them, like Order and Product. When I generate my dbml file it gaves me a class Order with a property that map a "ProductSet" and one class Product with a property that map wich Order that Product relates itself. So I create my Repository pattern like IReporitory with the basic CRUD operations and inside my controllers I implement the ProductRepository or OrderRepository. The problem occurs when I try to create Product and have to assign my Order on it, like ProductOne.Order = _orderRepository.Find(orderId); That operation gave me some strange behavior and I can't find out what is wrong with it. Thanks for the help.

  • DataContractSerializer case-insensitive datamember bug

    - by Andrew Bullock
Here is my class: [DataContract] public class EventIndex : IExtensibleDataObject { public ExtensionDataObject ExtensionData { get; set; } [DataMember] private readonly IList<EventDescription> events; public IEnumerable<EventDescription> Events { get { return events; } } public EventIndex() { events = new List<EventDescription>(); } } As you can see, events is marked as a member. When I try and deserialize one of these classes, ReadObject throws a NullReferenceException. After a morning spent inside reflector, it turns out that its trying to deserialize the events collection into the Events getter. If I rename one of the members (events\ Events) I don't have an issue. Is there a way to make this work properly, without renaming workarounds or other such nonsense?

  • Asp.Net 3.5 Routing to Asmx Webservice?

    - by Maushu
I was looking for a way to route http://www.example.com/WebService.asmx to http://www.example.com/service/ using only the ASP.NET 3.5 Routing framework without needing to configure the IIS server. Until now I have done what most tutorials told me, added a reference to the routing assembly, configured stuff in the web.config, added this to the Global.asax: protected void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) { RouteCollection routes = RouteTable.Routes; routes.Add( "WebService", new Route("service/{*Action}", new WebServiceRouteHandler()) ); } ...created this class: public class WebServiceRouteHandler : IRouteHandler { public IHttpHandler GetHttpHandler(RequestContext requestContext) { // What now? } } ...and the problem is right there, I don't know what to do. The tutorials and guides I've read use routing for pages, not webservices. Is this even possible? Ps: The route handler is working, I can visit /service/ and it throws the NotImplementedException I left in the GetHttpHandler method.

  • log4net dependency problem

    - by Alex DeLarge
I have an issue with log4net which has been bugging me for a while and I've resolved to sort it. I have a class library which references log4net. If I reference this class library in another project I must then reference log4net in this project otherwise I get a build error Unknown build error, 'Cannot resolve dependency to assembly 'log4net, Version=1.2.10.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=1b44e1d426115821' because it has not been preloaded. When using the ReflectionOnly APIs, dependent assemblies must be pre-loaded or loaded on demand through the ReflectionOnlyAssemblyResolve event.' I'm aware that the error message is probably telling me the solution, unfortunately I don't speak gibberish... Cheers guys Alex..

  • Wcf IInstanceProvider Behaviour never calling Realease() ?

    - by Jon
Hi, I'm implementing my own IInstanceProvider class to override the creation and realease of new service instances but the Release() method never gets called on my implemented class? It's implemented using an IServiceBehavior to attach to the exposed endpoint. No matter how hard we hammer the service the Relaease() method nevers gets called. We have the service running a per call instanceContext mode with 50 instance max. The deconstruct of the service instance gets called but not on all created instance and this looks like the gargageCollection rather than wcf realeasing and disposing. Any ideas why the Release() method never gets called? Thanks in Advance, Jon

  • Syntax error on token "QUOTE", VariableDeclaratorId expected after this token

    - by user356812
    I've posted a bigger chunk of the code below. You can see that initially QUOTE was procedural- coded in place. I'm trying to learn how to use declarative design so I want to do the same thing but by using resources. It seems like I need to access the string.xml thru the @R.id tag and identify QUOTE with that string value. But I don't know enough to negotiate this. Any tips? Thanks! public class circle extends Activity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(new GraphicsView(this)); } static public class GraphicsView extends View { //private static final String QUOTE = "Happy Birthday to David."; private final String QUOTE = getString(R.string.quote); ..... @Override protected void onDraw(Canvas canvas) { // Drawing commands go here canvas.drawPath(circle, cPaint); canvas.drawTextOnPath(QUOTE, circle, 0, 20, tPaint);

  • Unit testing methods decorated with custom attributes

    - by Joel Cunningham
I am trying to retrofit unit tests on to some existing code base. Both the class and method I want to unit test is decorated with custom attributes. These attributes are fairly sophisticated and I dont want them to run as part of the unit test. The only solution I have come up with is to compile the attribute out when I want to unit test. I dont really like this solution and would prefer to either replace it with a mocked attribute at runtime or prevent the attribute from running in a more elegant way. How do you unit test code that has class and method attributes that you dont want to run as part of a unit test? Thanks in advance.

  • Using CALayer Delegate

    - by Shaun Budhram
I have a UIView whose layers will have sublayers. I'd like to assign delegates for each of those sublayers, so the delegate method can tell the layer what to draw. My question is: What should I provide as CALayer's delegate? The documentation says not to use the UIView the layers reside in, as this is reserved for the main CALayer of the view. But, creating another class just to be the delegate of the CALayers I create defeats the purpose of not subclassing CALayer. What are people typically using as the delegate for CALayer? Or should I just subclass? Also, why is it that the class implementing the delegate methods doesn't have to conform to some sort of CALayer protocol? That's a wider overarching question I don't quite understand. I thought all classes requiring implementation of delegate methods required a protocol specification for implementers to conform to.

  • How to use and/or localize DisplayAttribute with ASP.NET MVC2?

    - by asp_net
I am trying to figure out how to get the DisplayAttribute in my MVC 2 ViewModel to work with the Html.LabelFor() helper. Neither public class TestModel { [Display(ResourceType = typeof(Localization.Labels))] public string Text { get; set; } } nor public class TestModel { [Display(Name = "test")] public string Text { get; set; } } seem to work. Localizing the Required Attribute works as expected: [Required(ErrorMessageResourceName = "Test", ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(Localization.Labels))] I am using VS2010 RC. Has anybody got that running?

  • Resolve dependency with autofac based on constructor parameter attribute

    - by Andrew Davey
I'm using AutoFac. I want to inject a different implementation of a dependency based on an attribute I apply to the constructor parameter. For example: class CustomerRepository { public CustomerRepository([CustomerDB] IObjectContainer db) { ... } } class FooRepository { public FooRepository([FooDB] IObjectContainer db) { ... } } builder.Register(c => /* return different instance based on attribute on the parameter */) .As<IObjectContainer>(); The attributes will be providing data, such as a connection string, which I can use to instance the correct object. How can I do this?
