  • Exception when programmatically copying content type

    Hi all: I'm getting exceptions when copying content type from one web to another: foreach (SPContentType destinationWebCt in destinationWeb.ContentTypes) { destinationWeb.ContentTypes.Add(existingWebCt); destinationWeb.Update(); } existingWebCt is the content type from another web e.g. /Site/Web. destinationWeb is the web that I wish to copy the content type to e.g. /Site/DestinationWeb. I got the SPException that says something like content type can not be added outside of its scope. Then I decided to replace all "ContentTypes" to "AvailableContentTypes", but then I got the SPException saying this collcetion could not be modified. So how can I copy a content type to another web? Thanks.

    Has anyone seen this weird value while handling sin / cos/ tan / acos.. math stuff? ===THE WEIRD VALUE=== -1.#IND00 ===================== void inverse_pos(double x, double y, double& theta_one, double& theta_two) { // Assume that L1 = 350 and L2 = 250 double B = sqrt(x*x + y*y); double angle_beta = atan2(y, x); double angle_alpha = acos((L2*L2 - B*B - L1*L1) / (-2*B*L1)); theta_one = angle_beta + angle_alpha; theta_two = atan2((y-L1*sin(theta_one)), (x-L1*cos(theta_one))); } This is the code I was working on. In a particular condition - like when x & y are 10 & 10, this code stores -1.#IND00 into theta_one & theta_two. It doesn't look like either characters or numbers :( Without a doubt, atan2 / acos / stuff are the problems. But the problem is, try and catch doesn't work either cuz those double variables have successfully stored some values in them. Moreover, the following calculations never complain about it and never break the program! I'm thinking of forcing to use this value somehow and make the entire program crash... So that I can catch this error.. Except for that idea, I have no idea how I should check whether these theta_one and theta_two variables have stored this crazy values. Any good ideas?   • Log RuntimeException thrown from thread created by Spring via the @Async annotation

    I'm having some difficulty logging RuntimeException from a thread. My system is: Java 7 (b118), Spring 3.0.5. The threads are not created by hand, but via Spring's @Async annotation, which creates it's own executor behind the scenes, so I don't really have the option of overriding any methods of the thread, FutureTask or anything low level. So my question is if Spring has any support or if there are any best practices for handling (logging) these type of exceptions? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

  • Exception when creating an activity: Could not select item Parcel unable to marshal value

    Hi, I am trying to call an Activity from another instance of the activity. The code is supposed to be a simple file browser (part of a larger application). I am using a ListActivity, and when an item (such as a folder) is selected, it is supposed to open it up in the new Activity. I have a feeling it is a problem with the AndroidManifest (which just has the basic tag). Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve

  • SystemIO Exception when opening RFCOMM in Mono

    I have a Mono application which opens a RFCOMM connection (/dev/rfcomm0) but when I run as a user, I get a System.IO.IOException Interrupted system call. I'm running this on openSUSE 11.2. If I run the application under sudo, it works fine. I have added the dialup group to my user account so I'm not getting a permission denied error. I'm not sure if this is a Mono serial comms question or a permissions question for ServerFault.

    Could you give a bullet list of practical differences/implication? I read relevant MSDN article, but my understanding asynchronous exceptions is still a bit hazy. I am writing a test suite using Boost.Test and my compiler emits a warning that EHa should be enabled: warning C4535: calling _set_se_translator() requires /EHa The project itself uses only plain exceptions (from STL) and doesn't need /EHa switch. Do I have to recompile it with /EHa switch to make the test suite work properly? My feeling is that I need /EHa for the test suit only. Thank you and happy new year.

    Hi! I am using mysql as db for my asp.net application. Here are the facts: I am using connection string from web.config which has both username and password. I can do SELECT with tableadapter. When I am trying to do INSERT with tableadapter, I am getting "mysqlexception insert command denied for user" error When I try to do INSERT programatically, i.e. using connection, command object, etc. everything is fine. In this case, I'm reading connection string from web.config, too. This can be only applied to GoDaddy hosting, but on local machine I don't have this kind of problems. Can anyone suggest what can I do to make it work on GoDaddy hosting? Regards, D

  • MSVC++ 6.0: Fatal error C1509 "Too many exception handler states in function"

    I'm working on a project that uses a lot of generated files for a GUI. After some recent updates, I get this error. If I remove some controls (the new ones or some old ones, doesn't seem to matter which), the error goes away. I've temporarily worked around the problem, but I'd like a more permanent solution. I've seen mentioned on the web that there's a fix for this in VS.Net 2003, but I can't find anything for 6.0. Does anyone know of a hotfix or service pack that fixes this?

  • What's the standard behaviour for an out parameter when a TryXxxx method returns false?

    Assuming a method with the following signature bool TryXxxx(object something, out int toReturn) What is it acceptable for toReturn to be if TryXxxx returns false? In that it's infered that toReturn should never be used if TryXxxx fails does it matter? If toReturn was a nulable type, then it would make sense to return null. But int isn't nullable and I don't want to have to force it to be. If toReturn is always a certain value if TryXxxx fails we risk having the position where 2 values could be considered to indicate the same thing. I can see this leading to potential possible confusion if the 'default' value was returned as a valid response (when TryXxxx returns true). From an implementation point if view it looks like having toReturn be a[ny] value is easiest, but is there anything more important to consider?

    Coming from Eclipse/Java, I noticed that in VisualStudio/C# it is not mandatory to care about Exceptions. While Eclipse forces the user to implement a try-catch-block or to add a throws declaration, this is not the case in Visual Studio. What is the reason Visual Studio doesn't inform about unhandled exceptions? Can I configure Visual Studio to force me to implement try-catch-blocks, or at least add a compiler-warning?

    I am validating constructor and method arguments, as I want to the software, especially the model part of it, to fail fast. As a result, constructor code often looks like this public MyModelClass(String arg1, String arg2, OtherModelClass otherModelInstance) { if(arg1 == null) { throw new IllegalArgumentsException("arg1 must not be null"); } // further validation of constraints... // actual constructor code... } Is there a way to do that with an annotation driven approach? Something like: public MyModelClass(@NotNull(raise=IllegalArgumentException.class, message="arg1 must not be null") String arg1, @NotNull(raise=IllegalArgumentException.class) String arg2, OtherModelClass otherModelInstance) { // actual constructor code... } In my eyes this would make the actual code a lot more readable.     In a plug-in I am using NPN_Evaluate() to execute some Javascript. How can I detect wether the Javascript raises an exception? Basically I want to execute any piece of Javascript and get the result from it or detect if it raised an exception. I tried wrapping my Javascript code like this: try { // Injected Javascript code here } catch (exc) { exc; } That way the result from NPN_Evaluate() will be an NPObject* containing a property "message" with the exception message if something goes wrong. But how can I know that it is an exception? It might as well be a result from the injected Javascript code. Am I approaching this the wrong way? Can I detect an exception without catching it in Javascript and returning the exception as the result?

    I developed a small WCF service that uses Castle Windsor IoC container and it works fine on my PC. When I deploy it onto a Win 2008 R2 server and host the WCF service in IIS 7 it fails with the following error. I checked the server level web.config and the trust level is set to "Full". What do I need to do to get this to work. As a test I deployed the same service as it is onto a Windows 2003 server with the trust level set to "Full" and it works fine. I am unable to figure out what setting/configuration I am missing on the 2008 server that is making the service fail. The issue is that sometimes Hibernate will throw exceptions from the JDBC driver that I can't figure out how to investigate.
