  • JList with custom renderer

    Hello, I have a JList that shows multiple JPanels on them , i have created a custom renderer that returns a new JPanel. The JPanels are displayed in the JList but they are not accessible, i cant select them and if i have a button or a text area in it i can not press it. I want to try if this works in a JList because i want to do further pagination. I managed to get it work by adding panels to a Jscroll pane, but would love to make the JList thing work. Thanks

  • How can I retrieve the value of a PASTE (copy-pasta) event in a GWT TextBox?

    Hello fellow SO members, I want to prevent the user from copy-pasting values in my TextBox IF AND ONLY IF the values do not respect a certain condition. For instance, I created a DigitsOnlyTextBox which will be used for phone numbers. I already made it so only Character.isDigit characters can be typed into the box, and the user cannot copy-paste values into it, using : this.sinkEvents(Event.ONPASTE); and public void onBrowserEvent(Event event) { super.onBrowserEvent(event); // Permet d'empêcher le copier-coller, donc d'entrer des caractères non-numériques if (event.getTypeInt() == Event.ONPASTE) { event.stopPropagation(); event.preventDefault(); } } But I'd like to verify if the copy-pasted String is "digits only" and if so, let the event happen (therefore the text added). tl;dr : see title Thank you for your time.   • IBM WESB/WAS JCA security configuration

    I'm working with IBM tools. I have a Websphere ESB (WESB) and a CICS transaction gateway (CTG). The basic set-up is as follows: A SOAP service needs data from CICS. The SOAP-service is connecting to service bus (WESB) to handle data and protocol transformation and then WESB calls the CTG which in turn calls CICS and the reply is handled vice verse (synchronously). WESB calls the CTG using Resource Adapter and JCA connector (or CICS adapter as it is called in WESB). Now, I have all the pieces in place and working. My question is about the security, and even though I'm working with WESB, the answer is probably the same as in Websphere Application Server (WAS). The Resource Adaper is secured using JAAS - J2C authentication data. I have configured the security using J2C authentication data entry, so basically I have a reference in the application I'm running and at runtime the application does a lookup for the security attributes from the server. So basically I'm always accessing the CICS adapter with the same security reference. My problem is that I need to access the resource in more dynamic way in the future. The security cannot be welded into the application anymore but instead given as a parameter. Could some WESB or WAS guru help me out, how this could be done in WESB/WAS exactly?

That's pretty much if you consider deploying this package to a remote Jboss server and possibly redeploying it package many times during your regular work. Lib files like richfaces and jsf-facelet make the lion's share of that EAR size. Why can't we just extract lib files into jboss-web.deployer directory on JBoss 4.2.0 GA server?

When I try to access the aSet in the F instance, I get the following exception (full stacktrace ommitted for brevity): org.hibernate.InstantiationException: Cannot instantiate abstract class or interface: path.to.class.A Am I mapping the classes incorrectly?   • Creating custom Android project templates in Eclipse?

    Every app I make starts out with a number of common base classes, interfaces, utility classes and a basic package structure that has been working for me. Is there a way for me to set up a project template in Eclipse that will give me all of the basic Android project stuff PLUS a bunch of custom packages, classes and interfaces? I guess I could just put all of this stuff into one or more libraries as opposed to creating a whole project template, so if you have a preferred approach or information/links/etc on how to do any of the above, please share (I'm relatively inexperienced with Eclipse, so the more detail the better).     I am developing a website as part of my final year project and I want to display a message which confirms that an email has been sent. I know how to display custom error messages on a form i.e. You cannot go any further until the following errors are fixed : login name not known! I want to display a message which will say: your email has been sent! after I send an email. I have been told that I should display this message through the flash. I am unsure on how to do this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can I find out which thread is running using Eclipse?

    I close my application by pressing a "Close" button. But in the Eclipse I see a red square indicating that something is still running. When I press this red square, I kill my application completely. Is it possible to find out what is still running (which method, which loop) using Eclipse? P.S. I am a newbie. So, it would be nice to have a simple solution. I also might not understand your answer if you use "technical" words which I do not know.

    I've got a GET method that looks like the following: GetMethod method = new GetMethod("http://host/path/?key=[\"item\",\"item\"]"); Such a path works just fine when typed directly into a browser, but the above line when run causes an IllegalArgumentException : Invalid URI. I've looked at using the URIUtils class, but without success. Is there a way to automatically encode this (or to add a query string onto the URL without causing HttpClient to barf?).

  • Would you take a paycut [closed]

    I make 90K doing JEE5 (it is open I can use any tech I want which is nice) but don't like what I am doing to because it is too hw related. I have an offer for 88K and a bonus that would be 10% (almost assured) that I would guess would be paid in the 4th quarter. It is a j2ee, supposed to be moving to jee5 and there are no hw dependencies (banking type work). I think I would be interested, but I have always been told you do not take a pay cut and don't move laterally (go to another job at the same pay). I have been on other interviews but this is the only one that has panned out. Also with the current job there is 401k match, but with the new one there is 401k also and a pension. What would you do?

  • Using exponential smoothing with NaN values

    I have a sample of some kind that can create somewhat noisy output. The sample is the result of some image processing from a camera, which indicates the heading of a blob of a certain color. It is an angle from around -45° to +45°, or a NaN, which means that the blob is not actually in view. In order to combat the noisy data, I felt that exponential smoothing would do the trick. However, I'm not sure how to handle the NaN values. On the one hand, involving them in the math would result in a NaN average, which would then prevent any meaningful results. On the other hand, ignoring NaN values completely would mean that a "no-detection" scenario would never be reported. And just to complicate things, the data is also noisy in that it can get false NaN value, which ideally would be smoothed somehow to prevent random noise. Any ideas about how I could implement such an exponential smoother?

    When you are designing a JMS application, which use cases make you pick temporary queues over persistent queues? We use temporary queues for response messages. We're having some issues maintaining connections to the temp queues, though, so I am testing persistent response queues, instead. One clear disadvantage of persistent queues is that your application has to "know" about them beforehand. If that's not a big deal, though, are there use cases where temp queues are the obvious choice?

    Hi All, I am building a set of chart displays, one of which is for a month display of daily trading - that is, one point of data per day (closing). Since there is no trade during weekends and holidays, I need to discard these data points. Not only that, but data points should still appear adjacent to each other, regardless of any gaps in time. This can be seen in any such chart e.g. in the 3 month graph for Nasdaq on Yahoo Finance - see how weekends are skipped. My question is: how should one correctly implement this in JFreeChart?   • Hibernate: getting a record but it's being updated in the database?

    For some reason Hibernate seems to be keeping my session open and updating the object without me explicitely invoking a save/update/saveorupdate. I guess the session is staying open and it's beeing marked as dirty. However this is not the desired behaviour, so what's the cleanest way to fix this? The issue seems to occur because I store a phone number without formatting in the database but the getter of the object returns a formatted telephone number. My flow: go to a jsp = controller = service = dao DAO getter function if(userId != 0) { return (User)dbFactory.get(User.class, userId); } return null; The service just passes it to the controller and the controller puts te User object in the request scope. I display it on my JSP page using EL.
