    When I try to post a comment (share link) on an article from my page which is actually a page I am using as an application in Facebook: https://apps.facebook.com/ids_newsletter/, Facebook chooses the feed thumbnail image of the post feed randomly from my page. I tried using below to put a custom image for the post but nothing affected the post thumbnail.   • Help with intel Imac 2008 Audio not working

    I installed Ubuntu 12.04 and I get no audio except if i insert speakers and set them as headphones. This means really weird feedback and little volume. i'd like to set it back to the mac's default speakers but currently no matter what graphical interface i go into such as Audio or Alsamixer i can not fix the problem.Ive run alsamixer and looked thoroughly throught the forums but cannot find the answer to my problem. When i input cat /proc/asound/cards i get 0 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel HDA Intel at 0x50600000 irq 47 Any help would be very much appreciated and as a newcomer i would be glad to give you any information you need.   • Google Hangouts plugin is not working as I want in Chromium

    Am I the only one experiencing problems with the Google Hangouts plugin? I did some changes so that I see the Hangouts icon in the topbar. But it happens once and a while that I cant open the window. The only thing I can do in that case is close Chromium and reopen it again. I have Hangouts with multiple people in the same chat. So Pidgin or Empathy is not something what I can count as workaround. Also when I closed the browser and want to reopen it I get the Contact List of Hangouts and not the Browser itself. I have to open it by using right-click on the Chromium shortcut.

Response is located in the EJB-API jar and BeeResponse is in the implementation jar. Response and BeeResponse have different serialVersionUID. My assumption is that the unmarshalling of the response from B will fail, am I correct?

  • Hulu desktop stopped working on my Dell

    After last weeks flash update Hulu desktop no longer works on my Dell laptop though it still works on my HP Desktop. Here's what CLI tells me on the Dell: Inspiron-1564:~$ huludesktop Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_nvidia.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I tried: sudo apt-get install libvdpau_nvidia.so but got E: Unable to locate package libvdpau_nvidia.so and E: Couldn't find any package by regex 'libvdpau_nvidia.so' Hulu does work through the browser and through XBMC. XBMC just doesn't seem to match the video quality of the Hulu Desktop. I don't really know why a nvidia.so is needed for my Intel graphics that comes on Dell Insiron 1564's. anyway. So, do you guys have a solution?

    When i install ubuntu, and the computer restarts it doesn't show the boot managaer so it always boots in windows 7. I tried to change the default os, and ubuntu wasn't even listed in it. Then I read a how to on it, it showed how to size the partions and make them correctly, but it still didn't work. I tried easyBCD and still no success. I've tried installing it about 4-5 times and i still can't get it. What can i do to fix it?

    We are using TeamViewer and we would like to print at the remote computer. Is this possible? If yes, how? I've been reading the docs but I can't find a solution. Further Explanation: I am on my machine say machine 1. And, I am connected to Machine 2 on the internet somewhere through Teamviewer. I know that Machine 2 has printer attached to it and it is working well. What I want is to print a Word Document for example which is locally on Machine 1 to be printed on Machine 2's printer. Is this possible?

  • Mic not working when vga connector removed

    I have a computer that should run continuously without any connection to a monitor. For developmental purposes I have been keeping the vga connection with the monitor and experienced no problem until now. When I start the machine removing the vga connection beforehand, external microphone does not work. At first I didn't know anywhere to look and see the problem, but after a google search I saw that there is a command as alsamixer I ssh the machine end type alsamixer when it is connected to the monitor, here is the result If I remove monitor connection and reboot again, and then type alsamixer, I see the error, $ alsamixer cannot open mixer: No such file or directory I suspect that this error is related to X somehow. I really don't know anything about what goes beyond. This machine needs to work without any connection to a monitor. I would deeply appreciate any suggestions.

    I got the following external sound card to make some awesome noise with my speaker set. It should be plug and play, but it so happens that when I plug it in and hook everything up, there's no sound at all. The speaker set I have works if I plug it in the laptop directly (or rather, if I plug the front speakers cable as I can't plug anything else). http://www.trust.com/products/product.aspx?artnr=14134 Would anyone know how I can workaround this problem and make full use of this external sound card on my Ubuntu 12.04 system?

  • 1080p on TV not working

    I am trying to connect my laptop (Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook) to my TV (Toshiba WLT66/67 Series) and get it to output to the TV at 1080i (so basically 1920x1080) through HDMI The issue I have is that in 'Displays' the highest resolution that it gives the monitor is 1280x768, however I know that the TV can output at 1920x1080 at 30Hz as when I use Windows 7 it allows me to do this. I looked around and found that I could use xrandr to try and get his resolution, however when I do: cvt 1920 1080 30 # 1920x1080 29.95 Hz (CVT) hsync: 33.01 kHz; pclk: 79.75 MHz Modeline "1920x1080_30.00" 79.75 1920 1976 2168 2416 1080 1083 1088 1102 -hsync +vsync xrandr --newmode "1920x1080_30.00" 79.75 1920 1976 2168 2416 1080 1083 1088 1102 -hsync +vsync xrandr --addmode HDMI1 1920x1080_30.00 xrandr --output HDMI1 --mode 1920x1080_30.00 My TV screen just remains blank :( Any help?   • Working the Chart Percentages

    Charting in BIP is such fun, well sometimes it is. Not so much today, at least not for Ron in San Diego. He needed a horizontal bar chart showing values plotted for various test areas with value labels at the end of the bars. Simple enough right? The wrinkle, they were percentage values so he needed to see '56%' not '56'! Still, it should be simple enough but the percentage formatting has a requirement for your values to be in a decimal format i.e. 0.56 not 56.0. 56.0 gets formatted as 5600%. OK, so either pull the values out as decimals or use the div function to divide the values in the chart by 100 e.g. <xsl:value-of select="myval div 100)" /> Now I can use the following the chart XML to format the percentages as I need them:   <Graph ... > ... <MarkerText visible="true"> <Y1ViewFormat> <ViewFormat numberType="NUMTYPE_PERCENT" decimalDigit="0" numberTypeUsed="true" leadingZeroUsed="true" decimalDigitUsed="true"/> </Y1ViewFormat> </MarkerText> ... </Graph>   That gets me the values shown the way I want but the auto axis formatting gets me from 0 >> 1. I now need to go in and add the formatting for the axis too.   <Graph ...> ... <Y1Axis axisMinAutoScaled="false" axisMinValue="0.0" axisMaxAutoScaled="false" axisMaxValue="1.0" majorTickStepAutomatic="true"> <ViewFormat numberType="NUMTYPE_PERCENT" decimalDigit="0" scaleFactor="SCALEFACTOR_NONE" numberTypeUsed="true" leadingZeroUsed="true" decimalDigitUsed="true" scaleFactorUsed="true"/> </Y1Axis>   Now I have a chart that's showing the percentage values and formatting axis scale correctly for me too. You can of course mess with the attributes above to get more decimal points on your labels, etc. Happy Charting!

  • Unity Launcher missing and Terminal shortcut stopped working

    When I restarted my Ubuntu after it being updated, I found the Unity launch bar was gone. I tried looking up several solutions online, blindly typing in the commands that others suggested, and I found after the umpteenth time rebooting after typing in another foreign command, I found I couldn't even open up the terminal with the Ctrl+Alt+t shortcut either and I have no idea how to fix this. This was the last set of instructions I remember following before terminal stopped opening. Install CCSM sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager And then run it in terminal (Ctrl+Alt+t) ccsm Then search for "Ubuntu Unity Plugin". If it's not checked, check it. If it is checked you may have another issue. Try restarting compiz: kill -9pidof compiz` This will kill it, it should start up again, if it doesn't, CTRL+ALT+F2 and then type: sudo service lightdm restart to restart the window manager. Go back to the terminal and run: unity --reset

  • Bluetooth automatic mouse connection not working

    I'd like my HP Bluetooth Mouse x4000b (no usb dongle) to connect automatically when starting my HP laptop (Ubuntu 14.04), but I can't succeed in it : I'm forced to do it manually by clicking the "connect" button. I know this topic has been answered many times, but no solution worked for me. Here's what I tried so far : Creating the file /etc/default/bluetooth with lines : HIDD_ENABLED=1 HIDD_OPTIONS="--connect F0:65:DD:7D:EC:A0 --server" Putting hciconfig hci0 reset at the end of /etc/init.d/bluetooth Putting /etc/init.d/bluetooth stop sleep 1 /etc/init.d/bluetooth start in /etc/rc.local None of these solution worked, I've read a lot of topics but couldn't find a solution ... that's why I'm asking that here, hoping you can help me troubleshooting that.   • mod hosts file, connect to joomla on remote server

    I've just acquired an account on a remote server with Joomla installed. I was instructed to add xxx.xx.xxx.xx name.ca www.name.ca to the hosts file which I found in /private/etc/ . I had to su to my admin account and use sudo to mod file and found that hosts is also found in /etc/ though it is apparently the same file. I attempted to flush the the DNS cache using dscacheutil -flushcache and then launched Safari and entered address xxx.xx.xxx.xx/administrator but got a 404 error. Joomla was set up for me by the server owner and accessed from his Windows laptop to demonstrate so I know it should work but no go here. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?

  • Mic not working on Lenovo G470

    I used a Lenovo G470 laptop (Core i5 2410M processor, AMD Radeon 6370M and 2GB DDR3 RAM) and I installed Ubuntu 12.04. I can't get the microphone to work. I encountered this type of issue before in my old Acer Aspire One with Ubuntu 10.04/10.10, and installing PulseAudio Volume Control and tweaking a little solves the problem. I tried the same solution to no avail in 12.04. I tried entering the alsa in terminal and my mic is not detected there. Does anybody encountered a similar problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    I got into Minecraft 2 months ago and just today I switched to Ubuntu. I downloaded Java from the special script (http://www.duinsoft.nl/packages.php?t=en) and after I verified it said it was installed. So I downloaded the Minecraft.jar file and ran it through the Java runtime. It updated like the launcher should... ... And it froze. Went black, didn't even get to the Mojang screen. Please help me! Minecraft is my favorite game and I can't stand to lose it.

    I am trying to find a SIP client that works on Ubuntu 12.04. I have an account on voipdiscount (www.voipdiscount.com) and 12voip (www.12voip.com) Earlier on Ubuntu 11.10, I was able to use SIP clients: Twinkle, SFL Phone. Using these clients, I was able to access my account and make the phone calls to different destinations. But after I installed 12.04, Twinkle, SFL Phone and Ekiga stopped. Whenever I try to make a phone call using one of these software, for some reason they are not able to register. They are failing. Any suggestions as to what I can do? Is there any SIP client that works on Ubuntu 12.04? Thanks!

  • access to site owner not working

    I made a website it works for everyone except for the site owner, who cannot access the site. He gets a server could not be found error. I went to his house and the issue occurs for all of his devices (PC, laptop, iPhone using WiFi) when I turn WiFi off the iPhone it works. So I thought it was a problem on his router so I reset is router to default factory settings but it still does not work, I have flushed his DNS cache and his browser cache. But nothing seems to help. He cannot even PING the server using the domain name. However when he uses the IP address he can see the site fine. I looked in cpanel for an blocked IP addresses but cannot see anything. What could be stopping just him from accessing the site via domainname and not the IP address? Site details are: PHP, osCommerce it is hosted by site5 on my reseller account.

  • Chameleon effect not working after update

    I've been using Ubuntu 12.04 since it came out and so far didn't have any problems with it. But after I updated (via Update Manager) it yesterday, after every reboot, the launcher color defaults to a blue dash, workspace and trash icon and the rest is black. If I set the wallpaper again manually, then it changes color as its supposed to (chameleon). Any idea why this is? Its really annoying to change your wallpaper every time you logon just to get the "normal" launcher. EDIT The chameleon effect works perfectly for notifications. Only the Launcher and Dash are not changing the color. Thanks.
