    Anyone know of a more permissive license (MIT / public domain) version of this: http://library.gnome.org/devel/glibmm/unstable/classGlib_1_1ustring.html ('drop-in' replacement for std::string thats UTF-8 aware) Lightweight, does everything I need and even more (doubt I'll use the UTF-XX conversions even) I really don't want to be carrying ICU around with me.

  • Referencing sheets with spaces

    I am having an issue with referencing the sheet name through =Branded!$A$1 Notation in VBA. For a while I have passed in simple sheet names like: Dim SheetName As String SheetName = "Pizza" ("=" & SheetName & "!$A$1") This has worked fine, but recently I passed in "Tier 1" and of course this notation broke. Is there any fix or workaround for this? It Think it's because of the space, the number or both....

    I'm getting a specified cast error trying to return a integer, example code below: results = pipeline.Invoke(); foreach (PSObject ps in results) { int diff = 0; Int32 exchcount = Convert.ToInt32(ps.Members["itemcount"].Value); diff = itemcount - exchcount; } I'm trying to find out what the data type if for itemcount of the Get-Mailboxstatistics but i can't find the information, i assume it's Int, i've tried string but that does not work either. any ideas please let me know!   • Can I Define Exceptions to Eclipse cleanup rules?

    Most often the cleanup rules (Preferences Java Code Style Clean Up) in Eclipse work perfectly and create nice-looking code. But sometimes, especially with comments and concatenated string snippets (like inline SQL queries), the cleanup just messes things up, and destroys my formatting. Is there a way to say to Eclipse "Don't touch this block of text! I have formatted it just the way I like, and you would make it just less readable"?

  • How do I simulate a progress counter in a command line application in Python?

    My Python program does a series of things and prints some diagnostic output. I would also like to have a progress counter like this: Percentage done: 25% where the number increases "in place". If I use only string statements I can write separate numbers, but that would clutter the screen. Is there some way to achieve this, for example using some escape char for backspace in order to clear a number and write the next one? Thanks

    I'm parsing Xml data which has entries like this: <item name="UserText" type_name="gh_string" type_code="10"> </item> I'm supposed to read the 6 spaces as a String, but both the InnerText and InnerXml values of the System.Xml.XmlNode are zero length Strings. Is there any way I can get at this whitespace data in existing files and what do I need to do in the future to prevent this sort of screw up?

    I can't search for a particular string, since they're all very similar, but I'd like something simple to chop out the first 4 lines in a file. They're all variable length too. I've had a a think about perl, and it all seems harder than I thought, but I'd like to do it in Perl, AWK or a shell command if possible. Does anybody have a simple way of doing this?

    When I run my python script in the shell terminal, it works sudo myscript.py --version=22 --base=252 --hosts="{'hostA':[1],'hostB':[22]}" But when I run in Hudson and Jenkins, using Execute Shell step, somehow, the string --hosts="{'hostA':[1],'hostB':[22]}" is interpreted as sudo myscript.py --version=22 --base=252 '--hosts="{'hostA':[1],'hostB':[22]}"' How do we overcome this so that our script would run in Jenkins and Hudson ?     I'm having trouble adding a button to a layout that I've created in XML. I've tried creating a LinearLayout view, then create a Button and add it to this view but I just get NullPointerExceptions.. Any help would be appreciated. EDIT#2 So i tried bhups method: @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); GraphTemperature GT = new GraphTemperature(getApplicationContext()); layout = (LinearLayout) findViewById(R.id.statsviewlayout); Button buyButton = new Button(this); buyButton.setText(R.string.button_back); buyButton.setLayoutParams(new LayoutParams( ViewGroup.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT, ViewGroup.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT)); layout.addView(GT); // line 27 layout.addView(buyButton); setContentView(layout); } This method produced the same logcat error as above, NullPointerException, indicating it was something to do with line no. 27 which is the layout.addView line of code.     hi, i have a date in this format : dd.mm.yyyy when i instantiate a javascript date with it, it gives me a NaN in c# i can specify a dateformat, to say: here you have my string, it's in this format, please make a Datetime of it. is this possible in javascript too, and if not, is there an easy way? i would prefer not to use a substring for day, substring for month etc. because my method must also be capable of german, italian, english etc dates.
