  • Remove dash from a phone number

    - by zoom_pat277
What regular expression using java could be used to filter out dashes '-' and open close round brackets from a string representing phone numbers... so that (234) 887-9999 should give 2348879999 and similarly 234-887-9999 should give 2348879999. Thanks,

I am trying to do something like this (I thought Predicate delegate would meet my needs): MyMethod(Predicate, string pred); Called like: MyMethod(s = s.Length 5); I want to write the condition inline BUT invoke it when I want, just like a delegate. How could I do this? Thanks

  • Input field name starts with a number

    - by fire
I have an input field whose name is an MD5 string e.g.: <input type="hidden" name="7815696ecbf1c96e6894b779456d330e" value="1"> Now I understand that having a number as the first letter in an input field name is generally bad practice, but are there any side-effects to this such as a certain browser won't send it in the POST request?

  • Httpclient not returning entire response

    - by whakojacko
Using HttpClient 4.0, Im having an issue where the response I get from the ResponseHandler is only about half of what the actual page content should be (~61k bytes in the string vs ~125k in the page returned to a browser). I cant seem to find any place where there might be some sort of limit that would limit this. Any ideas?

  • C# setting case constant expressions, do they have to follow a specific order?

    - by Umeed
Say I'm making a simple program, and the user is in the menu. And the menu options are 1 3 5 7 (i wouldn't actually do that but lets just go with it). and I want to make my switch statement using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace DecisionMaking2 { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { Console.WriteLine("Please choose an option: "); string SelectedOpt = Console.ReadLine(); double Selection = Convert.ToDouble(SelectedOpt); double MenuOption = (Selection); switch (MenuOption) { case 1: Console.WriteLine("Selected option #1"); break; case 2: Console.WriteLine("Selected option #3"); break; case 3: Console.WriteLine("Selected option #5"); break; case 4: Console.WriteLine("Selected option #7"); break; default: Console.WriteLine("Please choose from the options List!"); break; } } } } would that work? or would I have to name each case constant expression the option number I am using? I went to the microsoft website and I didn't quite pick up on anything i was looking for. . Also while I have your attention, how would I make it so the user chooses from either option and because I don't know which option the user will select " double MenuOption = " could be anything, whatever the user inputs right? so would what I have even work? I am doing this all by hand, and don't get much lab time to work on this as I have tons of other courses to work on and then a boring job to go to, and my PC at home has a restarting issue lol. soo any and all help is greatly appreciated. p.s the computer I'm on right now posting this, doesn't have any compilers, coding programs, and it's not mine just to get that out of the way. Thanks again!

  • How to override 'where' in rails 3

    - by Zakwan Alhajjar
I have upgraded my application from rails 2.3.8 to 3.0.3 . But I'm facing a problem. I was using 'find' but the overriding doesn't work in rails 3: # override activerecord's find to allow us to find by name or id transparently def self.find(*args) if args.is_a?(Array) and args.first.is_a?(String) and (args.first.index(/[a-zA-Z\-_]+/) or args.first.to_i.eql?(0) ) find_by_login_slug(args) else super end end I'm wondering if there is a way to make this work in rails 3 or even by using where instead. thanks
