  • Textmate quick one

    - by Pickledegg
I know its not strictly programming related, but the textmate mailing list is too 1990 for me to use properly. I won't make a habit of this: Anyone seen this popup before, it happens everytime I boot my mac. If so how do I kill it? Thanks.

  • Textmate Ruby on Rails Highlighting

    - by yuval
Hi, I have textmate 1.5.7 running on my leopard machine. When programming in rails, for some reason some key words do not get highlighted. For example: validates_presence_of, has_many, remote_form_for (form_for gets highlighted) etc... I tried switching themes and it did not help. I also tried upgrading to the most recent rails bundle from but no cigar. Could someone please help? Thank you very much, Yuval

  • Is there such a thing as an "elisp bundle" for TextMate?

    - by Vivi
I started using Code Collector Pro to organise and save my Emacs codes, and this software requires TextMate bundles for syntax highlighting. They have a lisp bundle, but not an elisp bundle, at least not that I can see. I would think that the syntax highlighting would work under the lisp bundle, but for some reason it isn't happening. I have never even seen any lisp code with syntax highlighting, so it is possible that the thing is working and I don't know, but I honestly don't think so, because the ;; before a line seems to me to be a comment thing, so anything after that should be in the color defined for comments which in my case is green. Here is a picture of my code collector screen with a piece of code written by huaiyuan answering my question posted here: Is this looking as it should or is there something wrong? Back to the initial question: is there a textmate bundle for elisp or a bundle like the ones from textmate I can download to get syntax highlighting?

  • Textmate RSpec Run Example fails

    - by Barb
When I try to run an RSpec example from within Textmate. I get "Rails requires RubyGems = 1.3.2 (you have 1.3.1). Please gem update --system and try again." I run gem update and I get nothing to update. I think the RSpec bundle is running from the built in directories rather than /local/. How do I change where the bundle looks? Thanks! :)

  • TextMate can't find my RSpec gem in opt (from macports)

    - by sbwoodside
I know I've had this problem before so I'm really frustrated. I've got the Ruby RSpec bundle installed for TextMate, but when I Run Behaviour Description or Run Focused Example I get this wonderful error: /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/rubygems.rb:827: in `report_activate_error': Could not find RubyGem rspec (>= 1.1.0) (Gem::LoadError) from /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/rubygems.rb:261: in `activate' from /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/lib/ruby /1.8/rubygems.rb:68:in `gem' from /Users/simon/Library/Application Support/TextMate/Bundles/Ruby RSpec.tmbundle/Support/lib/spec_mate.rb:13 from /tmp/temp_textmate.oWRPUR:3:in `require' from /tmp/temp_textmate.oWRPUR:3 (I added linebreaks to make it readable) I'm using macports so my rspec gem is installed in /opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/. Why isn't it finding it? In Preferences Advanced Shell Variables my TM_RUBY is set to /opt/local/bin/ruby. I also tried the trick here: ... which didn't do anything.

  • What is your favorite textmate plugin or bundle?

    - by John Duff
Textmate is a great editor with lots of plugins and bundles, hoping to find a few more that will make Textmate even more useful. I personally can't live without Ack in Project (, the built in search for textmate is awful, ack in project does searches 100x faster. What's your favorite Textmate plugin or bundle and what makes it so great?

  • Textmate bundle to remove a directory and build with Jekyll

    - by m1755
I am looking for a simple Textmate bundle that will do the following two tasks in order: Delete the entire contents (including folders) of a directory (eg. ~/Sites/my_site). Run the jekyll command in the directory of the Textmate project. I am going to associate this with a "save current file" and use it to auto build my Jekyll site into the specified directory each time I save a file inside the project. Notes If #2 isn't possible, then cd into a specified directory and run the jekyll command. Would prefer bash or ruby.

From a cucumber feature file when I go to 'Run features' Im getting the error below in the popup box that appears. • Autocomplete in Textmate

    - by Elliot
Sometimes I watch screen casts where someone is using text mate. I'm a rails developer, so these are rails screen casts. They'll type something like: def for example and "end" will automatically appear underneath. I do have the bundle for Rails enabled - why doesn't this happen for me? Thanks!

  • How to perform multiple find and replace in TextMate besides macro?

    - by T1000
I have several regular expressions to find and replace text in documents in TextMate. I would like to be able to have them run in a batch. I made a macro and it worked, but any tiny modifications to the macro means re-recording the macro. And I can't seem to modify the regex within the TextMate interface. It's read-only for some reason. Can I make it into a command? Does anyone know how? I tried to read the TextMate help about commands, but it wasn't much help. It seems I need prior knowledge of shell scripts or some sort (which I have none). Any advise in the direction would be great. Thanx in advance.
