Applying to a big company where I can be managed correctly but not using my skillset or, opposite?

Hi,
I have so far worked in only small companies and been mismanaged/not managed at all in the majority of them. If I work for a big company, chances are it would be in a grad scheme so I would have to do a bit of everything and possibly not even my mail skill (.NET as my my name suggests).
Would it be a good idea to thus apply to a big company?
