Trouble connecting to a secured samba share with Ubuntu Server 10.04

I'm following these guidelines: https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/serverguide/C/samba-fileprint-security.html

But it's quite vague on how to connect from Windows. I can browse the share, but I can't write to it. The section on adding acl to your fstab file is also vague. What should my file look like if my share is part of my /home directory?
