I have been using Java from the last 2yrs (academics). Now, when I am graduating, I received a job offer from a .com. The job is awesome and it's a backend Java work.

I wanted to get involved with Ruby on Rails, looked for alot of jobs, gave few interviews, but didn't make it.

So, what should I do now?

  1. Should I go ahead with Java and learn/do more with Java, a complete 360degree of the java world - Full stack of Java from backend to frontend? OR
  2. Java at workplace and try to improve my Ruby on Rails.

I understand, this is a very subjective question and depends on the individual, but what would you have done? Have you ever faced a similar problem?

I feel I have wasted some time with Rails, where I could not "conquer" Rails, where as I could have used that time to go more into Java.
