Why do webpages take longer to loo in ubuntu 12.04 than Windows 7

For example, when I click on a Facebook picture, the picture remains pixelated for about 30 seconds, then starts to clear up. Or when I watch YouTube videos, I can't watch them on HD without running into buffer issues. Windows 7 is just much snappier. It might be an issue with the graphics card.

Dualbooting Windows 7 64bit & Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit

Specs: CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz × 8 RAM: 8GB DDR3 HDD: 50 GB to Ubuntu & Remaining 1.5 TB to Windows
