Macbook Pro (2011) Install of 12.10

I have installed Ubuntu on another partition on my macbook only to find when i boot using refit im greeted with a screen that reads

Missing Operating System

I have chosen to install grub on the root partition so i assume after the EFI boot-loader has done its stuff it will then load grub in the " / " partition. Any thoughts on this i couldn't find anyone with this problem. I can only assume its a problem with the GRUB install on the partition. But i have tried to reinstall it and it did not work....?

Any thoughts would greatly appreciated.
