  • Modify site column(type text) to allow more than 255 characters

    Hi friends I have created custom site column with type text and I included in one of content types. But it is allowing me for 255 characters only. In which way I can extend it, say 1024 characters. I did this before by mentioning somewhere in web.config file but I forgot how i did. Can anyone please tell me how can I achieve this.   • Socket.recv works but not gets or read?

    Hello I've been messing around with Sockets in Ruby some and came across some example code that I tried modifying and broke. I want to know why it's broken. Server: require "socket" dts = TCPServer.new('127.0.0.1', 20000) loop do Thread.start(dts.accept) do |s| print(s, " is accepted\n") s.write(Time.now) print(s, " is gone\n") s.close end end Client that works: require 'socket' streamSock = TCPSocket.new( "127.0.0.1", 20000 ) streamSock.print( "Hello\n" ) str = streamSock.recv( 100 ) print str streamSock.close Client that is broken require 'socket' streamSock = TCPSocket.new( "127.0.0.1", 20000 ) streamSock.print( "Hello\n" ) str=streamSock.read #this line modified print str streamSock.close I know that the streamSock.print is unnecessary (as well as the naming scheme being non-ruby) but I don't understand why read doesn't work while recv does, Why is this?

  • Using GIT Smart HTTP via IIS

    I recently read Scott Chacon's post "Smart HTTP Transport", and I was hoping that it might have become possible via IIS (windows 7) since that post was written. I haven't been able to find anything showing how it can be done, and Apache is not an option in my IIS 7 based environment. So, I'm at a loss (git daemon was foiled for me by a combination of AVG anti-virus and AD). I want to provide LDAP authenticated read/write access for selected users. So this question seems not to be relevant. Do you know of a way to provide access to GIT via IIS?

  • Mircosoft Expressions rejecting FP extensions

    Hey there, I've just moved to a new server and I can't seem to get FrontPage extensions to work with Mircosoft Expressions. I like to edit my site Live rather then local to server. But Now, when I access my domain.. eg: http://domain.com It'll come up with: Access Denied. And if I click details it returns 501 Method Not Implemented Method Not Implemented GET to / not supported. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. If I define (in .htaccess): ErrorDocument 404 /404.php The Details returns the Title and contents of 404.php. And if I define (in .htaccess): ErrorDocument 404 /404.php ErrorDocument 501 /501.php The Details return nothing. What Am I doing wrong? Thanks.

    I have a Drupal module creating a page via hook_menu(). I am trying to make it so the page has no extraneous html output, only what I want. You can view the page here, http://www.thomashansen.me/chat/thomas. If you look at the source, you can see a strange script tag at the end.   • Readonly SiteMapNodes in ASP.Net MVC?

    I'm using MVCSiteMap as a SiteMapProvider for my MVC site. I have a node set up like so.... <mvcSiteMapNode key="1" title="Product" controller="Product" action="Display" isDynamic="true" dynamicParameters="id"> <mvcSiteMapNode key="11" title="More Details" controller="Product" action="MoreDetails" isDynamic="true" dynamicParameters="id" /> </mvcSiteMapNode> ...Which means I can go to ~/Product/Display/12 and get a correct sitemap node for product id 12 (in this case just Product. And I can go to ~/Product/MoreDetails/12 and get the sitemap path for the MoreDetails (Product - More Details). The problem is that the link back to Product in this sitemap doesn't work - it skips the id off the end, instead linking to ~/Product/Display/. Which sucks. I've discovered I can edit the Title of a node using SiteMap.CurrentNode.Title = "My New Title"; But... SiteMap.CurrentNode.ParentNode.Url = "http://www.google.com"; Doesn't set the Url for the parent node; it gets the default link described before. Any ideas how I can set the URL of a SiteMapNode?

    I have a table in my view controller (let's call it TVC1). I have rows in TVC1 that are used so the user can input some more data in addition to the data on TVC1. So, when someone taps a specific row in TVC1, it will show another view controller (let's call it TVC2). However, when TVC2 is shown, all of the data in TVC1 is cleared. How can I save the data in TVC1? Should I do it through the app delegate?   • ASP.net 2.0 Gridview with Expanding Panel Rows -- How to build Panel "on the fly"

    I'm currently building a Gridview that has expandable rows. Each row contains a dynamically created Panel of Form elements. Right now, I have a javascript function that expands (or in my case, makes visible) the panel when an Image is clicked on the Gridview row. My question is... is there a more efficient way of doing this. Instead of pulling all my data to begin with and building each new row as I Databind, is there a way to simple create the row with the Panel full of textboxes and dropdownlists on the fly when the user clicks the Expand button?" I'd like to limit the server calls by doing it that way instead of how I'm currently doing it, looping through every row and creating a new panel with form elements and inserting that into a row that is hidden.

    This is in a web application environment: An initial request is able to successfully complete, however any additional requests return a "Session is Closed" response from the NHibernate framework. In my repository class, I attempt to use the following syntax: public class MyObjectRepository : IMyObjectRepository { public MyObject GetByID(int id) { using (ISession session = SessionFactory.Instance.GetCurrentSession()) return session.Get<MyObject>(id); } } This allows code in the application to be called as such: IMyObjectRepository repo = new MyObjectRepository(); MyObject obj = repo.GetByID(1); I have a suspicion my repository code is to blame, but I'm not 100% sure on the actual implementation I should be using. I found a similar issue on SO here. I too am using WebSessionContext in my implementation, however, no solution was provided other than writing a custom SessionManager. For simple CRUD operations, is a custom session provider required apart from the built in tools(ie WebSessionContext)?

  • Has anyone used a rails gem for lightbox functionality? If so which ones?

    Trying to figure out what is the best solution for using lightbox in rails. I have a set up an application that has projects and posts belong_to project. A post can have multiple photos and I am successfully only displaying the first photo in the photos table in the projects show view for each post. I am now trying to allow the user to view the rest of the photos associated with a post through a lightbox feature. Any idea if there is a rails ready solution for something like this?

    HI , I am going to rewrite a store procedure in LINQ. What this sp is doing is joining 12 tables and get the data and insert it into another table. it has 7 left outer joins and 4 inner joins.And returns one row of data. Now question. 1)What is the best way to achieve this joins in linq. 2) do you think this affect performance (its only retrieving one row of data at a given point of time) Please advice. Thanks SNA.

  • Issues regarding playing audio files in a JME midlet.

    I am making a midlet which is to be used to play out local audio files. It is obviously not working. I am getting a null reference on the "is" variable, in the code snippet shown below. 1. try{ 2. System.out.println("path: " + this.getClass()); 3. InputStream is = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("res/01Track.wav"); 4. p1=Manager.createPlayer(is, "audio"); 5. p1.realize(); 6. p1.prefetch(); 7. p1.start(); 8. } 9. catch(Exception e){ 10. System.out.println(e.getMessage()); 11. } I assume there is something wrong with the "this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("res/01Track.wav")" bit, but I can not for the life of me figure out why, and I have tried referring to the file in 20 different ways. If I printline "this.getClass()" it gives me "path: class Mp3spiller". The absolute path to "01Track.wav" is "E:\Mine dokumenter\Dokumenter\workspace_mobiljava\Mp3spiller\res\01Track.wav". Am I completely wrong in thinking that I should refer relatively to "E:\Mine dokumenter\Dokumenter\workspace_mobiljava\Mp3spiller"? If anyone could point out what I am doing wrong, I would be grateful. I have basically stolen the code from a tutorial I found online, so I would have thought it would be working.

  • How to pass a Dictionary variable to another procedure

    I am developing a C# VS2008/SQL Server website application. I've never used the Dictionary class before, but I am trying to replace my Hashtable with a Dictionary variable. Here is a portion of my aspx.cs code: ... Dictionary<string, string> openWith = new Dictionary<string, string>(); for (int col = 0; col < headers.Length; col++) { @temp = (col + 1); @tempS = @temp.ToString(); @tempT = "@col" + @temp.ToString(); ... openWith.Add(@tempT, headers[col]); } ... for (int r = 0; r < myInputFile.Rows.Count; r++) { resultLabel.Text = ADONET_methods.AppendDataCT(myInputFile, openWith); } But this is giving me a compiler error on this last line: Argument '2': cannot convert from 'System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary' to 'string' How do I pass the entire openWith variable to AppendDataCT? AppendDataCT is the method that calls my SQL stored proc. I want to pass in the whole row where each row has a unique set of values that I want to add to my database table. For example, if each row requires values for cells A, B, and C, then I want to pass these 3 values to AppendDataCT, where all of these values are strings. How do I do this with Dictionary?
