  • Subversion merging, tree merge

    I need to merge changes from a branch back into trunk but want to continue work on the existing branch. I was going to use a re-integrate merge but realised this is not suitable as I will need to recreate my branch etc which for a variety of reasons is not desirable. What I really want to do is merge the current revisions in the branch down to head and then keep people working on their current working copies. So my question is , can tree merge be used to solve this or do I have to reintegrate and recreate.

  • Send xml from ActionScript to PHP

    Hi, I have values inside an XMLList in Actionscript. Need to send these values to the DB and update it. My actionscript code is as follows: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/dbbc612193.gif How can I send the XMLList data to PHP? Should I add a toString() to it? Also what should be the contentType in Flex.   • Munin "Disk usage" is too high?

    I've recently installed munin on my VMware client server and saw that the Disk usage shows about 80-90%. Everything else (cpu load, ram, etc.) seems to be running fine. I have only two virtual hosts on my server with 1000 users/day in total, so I don't think that's too much. Here is the graph for the disk usage. Server info: Debian Lenny, CPU 510Mhz, RAM 512MB Is it bad? What could possibly cause this? Thank you for any suggestions.

  • Analysing objects generated by a Java application in between GCs.

    Is there a tool which could be used to analyse the objects being created between two separate garbage collection run (= number of objects created and their type) ? Heapdumps dont really work here as they perform a GC when they're invoked (or at least that's what I observed everytime so far), and I want to see which objects are collected by the GC, not which objects are left after the GC run, if that makes sense. ...or is it possible somehow to inspect the nature and size of objects being collected by the garbage collector ?

  • How do I see items embedded/attached to my Gallio test log in CruiseControl.NET?

    I can use the following code to attach a log file to my Gallio 3.2 acceptance test report: TestLog.AttachPlainText("Attached log file", File.ReadAllText(path)); When I run my tests locally I can see the log file contents by viewing the report in my web browser. However, if I run the tests under CCNET 1.4.4 I get the following error when I try to browse to an attached file in the report via the web dashboard: Exception Message The attachment was not inlined into the XML report.   • Keyboard input with timeout in Python

    How would you prompt the user for some input but timing out after N seconds? Google is pointing to a mail thread about it at http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-list/2006-January/533215.html but it seems not to work. The statement in which the timeout happens, no matter whether it is a sys.input.readline or timer.sleep(), I always get: <type 'exceptions.TypeError'>: [raw_]input expected at most 1 arguments, got 2 which somehow the except fails to catch.

  • jQuery UI dialog on ASP.NET page (inside user control)

    I have a really odd behavior here: I created a little popup dialog in jQuery UI, and in my test HTML page, it works flawlessly. When I click on the button, the popup comes up, covers the background, and remains on screen until I click on one of the two buttons (OK or Cancel) provided. So now I wanted to add this into my ASP.NET 3.5 app. I wanted to add it to a GridView inside a user controls (ASCX), which is on a page (ASPX) contained inside a master page. The jQuery 1.4.2 and jQuery UI 1.8.1 scripts are referenced on the master page: <body> <form id="XXXXXX" runat="server"> <Ajax:ScriptManager ID="masterScriptManager" runat="server" ScriptMode="Auto"> <Scripts> <asp:ScriptReference Path="~/Scripts/jquery-1.4.2.min.js" /> <asp:ScriptReference Path="~/Scripts/jquery-ui-1.8.1.custom.min.js" /> </Scripts> </Ajax:ScriptManager> I had to change this to use the Ajax script manager, since adding them to the as never worked. So in my gridview, I have a column with image buttons, and when the user clicks on those, I am calling a little javascript function to show the jQuery UI dialog: function showDialog() { $("#dlg-discount").dialog('open'); $("#txtAmount").focus(); } When I run this page in MS IE 8, I get a separate page, and at the top of the page, I get the contents of my , with proper background color and all. In Firefox 3.5.6, I do get the dialog as a popup. In both cases, the dialog page/popup disappears again after a second or less - without me clicking anything! It seems similar to this question but the solution provided there doesn't work in my case. This one here also seems similar but again: the solution presented doesn't seem to work in my case... Any ideas / hints / tips on what the h** is going on here?? Thanks!

  • What is the best way to do Bit Field manipulation in Python?

    I'm reading some MPEG Transport Stream protocol over UDP and it has some funky bitfields in it (length 13 for example). I'm using the "struct" library to do the broad unpacking, but is there a simple way to say "Grab the next 13 bits" rather than have to hand-tweak the bit manipulation? I'd like something like the way C does bit fields (without having to revert to C). Suggestions?

  • GPL License in closed source application

    Hello, This question has been asked multiple times I know. From what I understand, broadly speaking, if I include a GPL module in my app, I have to also release my app's source code for free. Now if the module is a java app (which I have modified) and included in my own java app, and say I use it as an applet on my website, do I need to distribute the source code to all the users visiting the website? Can I distribute the code only to people who ask for it? If I sell my applet, do I need to distribute the source code to all the users or ONLY to the users who purchase my applet?     I'm having an issue with bad requests from certain search parameters. An example URL: http://www.foo.com/washington/forums/search/%26 Results in a bad request. The rewriter config line looks like this: <rewrite url="^(.*)/forums/search/(.*)" to="~/Pages/Forums/Overview.aspx?Address=$1&amp;q=$2" processing="stop" /> I'm thinking it's an issue with the Regex...?   • Application running as a service is not able to create the same number of processes as when it runs

    I have a Windows application which creates up to 35 processes and it's working OK when it's running from cmd. But when it is executed as a service on the same machine it is able to create only 20 processes and all other are killed because of some kind of resource exhaustion problem. The problem is persistent on one Windows 2003 server but not reproducible on other servers. Can it be because the system has run out of desktop heap? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/184802 How can I check it?

  • Thunderbird is unable to find server in DHCP controlled network.

    I have a network which consists of linux server and a combination of WinXP, Win7 and linux clients. All the systems are given dynamic IP addresses by the router which connects them all together. The server hosts an IMAP mail server. On Win7 and WinXP Thunderbird can access the IMAP server without any problems. On the linux client, using the same IMAP parameters, Thunderbird is unable to connect to the server. How do I get Thunderbird to find the server? I'm not sure if this is a linux system configuration problem or a Thunderbird issue. Additional note: The linux client is running Gnome, the server has a series of Samba shares defined. In the client, doing Places-Connect to Server and selecting Windows Share and specifying the server name, the Samba share is mounted OK.

  • How do you passthrough native SATA drives to a guest on ESXi?

    I have ESXi 4.0 running on an Intel DX58S0 Mothboardboard with an Intel Core i7 930 processor. VT-d is also enabled. I have three drives in the system, drive 0 is used for ESXi. Drive 1 and 2 contain data from an older machine and show up under the "Storage Adapters" section in configuration. I would like to allow a guest machine to access the data on these drives (as nativly as possible). I have enabled passthrough of the motherboard's built in SATA controller (Intel/Marvell 88SE6121 ). This controller shows up in my guest OS, but the guest shows no drives aside from the normal virtual drive. I have tried a Linux guest and Windows7. I have also configured the host machine to try IDE/RAID/ACHI modes for the SATA controller. Any ideas how I can configure one of my guests to get at the raw data on these drives?

  • Recommand a Perl module to persist a large object for re-use between runs?

    I've got a large XML file, which takes 40+ seconds to parse with XML::Simple. I'd like to be able to cache the resulting parsed object so that on the next run I can just retrieve the parsed object and not reparse the whole file. I've looked at using Data::Dumper but the documentation is a bit lacking on how to store and retrieve its output from disk files. Other classes I've looked at (e.g. Cache::Cache) appear designed for storage of many small objects, not a single large one. Can anyone recommend a module designed for this?
