  • How to allow users to define financial formulas in a C# app

    I need to allow my users to be able to define formulas which will calculate values based on data. For example //Example 1 return GetMonetaryAmountFromDatabase("Amount due") * 1.2; //Example 2 return GetMonetaryAmountFromDatabase("Amount due") * GetFactorFromDatabase("Discount"); I will need to allow / * + - operations, also to assign local variables and execute IF statements, like so var amountDue = GetMonetaryAmountFromDatabase("Amount due"); if (amountDue > 100000) return amountDue * 0.75; if (amountDue > 50000) return amountDue * 0.9; return amountDue; The scenario is complicated because I have the following structure.. Customer (a few hundred) Configuration (about 10 per customer) Item (about 10,000 per customer configuration) So I will perform a 3 level loop. At each "Configuration" level I will start a DB transaction and compile the forumlas, each "Item" will use the same transaction + compiled formulas (there are about 20 formulas per configuration, each item will use all of them). This further complicates things because I can't just use the compiler services as it would result in continued memory usage growth. I can't use a new AppDomain per each "Configuration" loop level because some of the references I need to pass cannot be marshalled. Any suggestions?

  • Binding position to ActualHeight

    Hi I want to bind a lists position to its own height in XAML. So its lower left corner always will be at 0.0 of the canvas. I'm using elementBinding to get the ActualHeight and a converter to invert the property. But the height sent to the converter is 0.   • e4x statement conflicts with local variable?

Somewhere in code i have decalred variable: [Bindable] var nameWin:String = ""; after this i have an e4x statement podContent.xml_m = xml_m.item.(nameWin=="necessary name"); that should compare item's namewin with "necessary name" and return only items whose nameWin matches with "necessary name". xml_m.item: <item> <nameWin>necessary name</nameWin> <nameCol>??????-?????? ???????????</nameCol> <date>2009 ???</date> <summa>259267.7976</summa> </item> <item> <nameWin>unnecessary name</nameWin> <nameCol>??????-?????? ???????????</nameCol> <date>2010 ??????</date> <summa>104.3254</summa> </item> <item> <nameWin>necessary name</nameWin> <nameCol>??????-?????? ???????????</nameCol> <date>2010 ???</date> <summa>21.5174</summa> </item> if I use in statement xml-child distinct of nameWin (summa, e. g.), it works good. But with nameWin, e4x compares local variable nameWin (which not interested for me at all at this time) with "necessary name" instead of compare item's nameWin with "necessary name". Any ideas? Versions of libraries can be reason?

  • Can't seem to sign AWS Cloud Front URL properly

    Hi everybody, I found a lot of detailed examples online on how to sign an Amazon CloudFront URL for private content. Unfortunately, whenever I implement these examples my URL doesn't seem to work. The resource path is correct because I can download the file when it is set for world read, but the URL doesn't work when set just for authorized users. The PHP code I am using is below.   • certificate error while subdomain forwarding

    I have a website, call it http://sub.example.com, hosted on, say, 72.xx.xx.x. There is a certificate for https://sub.example.com. Now I go into the DNS management tool in my hosting provider, and I set up the standard subdomain forwarding wherein https://sub.example.com forwards to 72.xx.xx.x. Now when I try to browse to https://sub.example.com, I get a certificate error saying it is for the wrong website. I have also tried forwarding http://sub.example.com to 72.xx.xx.x, and tried it with domain masking in both cases. I am still getting the certificate error no matter what. Additional wrinkle: if someone types in https://sub.example.com then the domain forwarding does not seem to work and IE just spins endlesssly and finally fails. How can I domain forward the https://sub.example.com to 72.xx.xx.x?

  • Use Sony HDR line of camcorders as webcam?

    I have a Sony HDR-XR200 HD camcorder. I'd like to see if I can use it as a webcam as well. It only has USB and HDMI outputs (no DV/firewire). Is there any way to make such a device function as a webcam on Windows Vista? Almost all camcorder-to-webcam software seems to work with DV inputs.

  • How do I change the colors used in MS Word 2007 track changes?

    I'm reviewing a document in MS Word 2007, and when I add comments, the bubble has red text on a slightly lighter red background. This is pretty hard to read. The Track Changes Options dialog isn't of much help, I can change the background color for Comments, and it's slightly more readable. But I know that Word assigns a color to each user who reviews the document, I'd like to be able to change mine to a different one, and still have it work properly when I pass the document on to others. MS help is useless.

  • Strange WPF Behaviour With WCF Async calls

    I have a WPF application calling WCF via Async calls. The application has four tabs in which each are loaded from seperate async calls, each tab has a busy indicator. The problem: When running within Visual Studio I can click a refresh button on each tab and each tab's busy indicator starts and the data is retrieved from the WCF service. As each tab's data comes back it is refreshed. When I deploy the application via one click the application's UI hangs after only two tabs start refreshing. So in this case I press refresh on tab one, then on tab two and the application hangs until one of the two tabs data comes back. I thought at first that it was something to do with the WCF service throtteling and that was not the case as both the Visual Studio and the One Click deployments of the application point to the same service. Anyone have any ideas on where to look? I cannot reproduce the hang issue within Visual Studio?

I'm trying to learn C# and my first project would be a program that starts the timer on a PC by clicking a button on another PC in the network. The problem is, I don't know where to start?   • feedparser fails during script run, but can't reproduce in interactive python console

    It's failing with this when I run eclipse or when I run my script in iPython: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xe2 in position 32: ordinal not in range(128) I don't know why, but when I simply execute the feedparse.parse(url) statement using the same url, there is no error thrown. This is stumping me big time.     We have two classes: template<typename T, typename Size, typename Stack, typename Sparse> class Matrix and template<typename T, typename Size> class Iterator Matrix should be able to return begin and end iterators and Iterator will keep a referrence to the Matrix to access the elements via it's interface. We don't want Iterator to depend on the internal storage of the Matrix to prevent coupling. How can we solve this cyclic dependency problem? (The internal Storage class has the same template parameters as the Matrix class and the same access procedures as the Matrix itself)

    I am creating a custom Attribute (extending System.Attribute). I know I can put it on another class easily enough by doing the following. [MattsAttribute] public class SomeClassWhichIsACodeBehind { However, I need to be able to test this attribute easily, and putting it in the code-behind would cause a lot of extra effort to get it deployed to an environment which would respond to the behavior of attribute. What I would like to do: declaratively apply this attribute to the .aspx page itself (which is really just another class that inherits from the code-behind). Is this possible? If so, what is the proper syntax for doing this?

  • Is it possible to compile IronRuby code to a .NET assembly (EXE or DLL)

    My scenario consists of the following points. I have a packaged software product I am developing in C# Since it is a packaged product, the public interfaces of the assemblies need to be tightly controlled... All assemblies are strong-named Any classes that don't absolutely have to be "public" are "internal" I want to write unit tests for those "internal" classes, since they are the bulk of the code And finally.... I want to try writing the unit tests in Ruby. Since the unit tests would be external to the assembly containing the code under test, the assemblies under test would each need to have an "InternalsVisibleTo" attribute specifying the name of the unit test assembly. Which of course would mean that the Ruby unit tests would have to compile down to a .NET assembly so they can be given access in this way. Can this be done? If so, how? All I can find on the web about "compiling IronRuby" is about building the actual IronRuby runtime from source.

Then deletes the target folder and creates the second package, which then is visible. I tried to set target/somedir1 for the first configuration and target/somedir2 for the second configuration. But the behavior does not not change? Any ideas? I do not want to generate the packages directly in the src/main/java folder, because these packages are genereated and should not be mixed with manual created classes.

What I need to do is to map URL in the form: /stadia?id=1?format=xml to /stadia/1.xml Or even something like: /myApp?model=<model_name>?id=<id>?format=xml to /<model_name/<id>.xml Is it possible to craft appropriate route in Rails?
