I was wondering if the code below is the correct way to use mysqli_real_escape_string() when storing users data in a database.
Here is the PHP & MySQL code.
if (mysqli_num_rows($dbc) == 0) {
$mysqli = mysqli_connect("localhost", "root", "", "sitename");
$dbc = mysqli_query($mysqli,"INSERT INTO info (user_id, url)
VALUES ('$user_id', 'mysqli_real_escape_string($url)')");
}
if ($dbc == TRUE) {
$dbc = mysqli_query($mysqli,"UPDATE info
SET url = 'mysqli_real_escape_string($url)'
WHERE user_id = '$user_id'");
I've been reading the Python 3.2 docs about string formatting but it hasn't really helped me with this particular problem.
Here is what I'm trying to do:
stats = { 'copied': 5, 'skipped': 14 }
print( 'Copied: {copied}, Skipped: {skipped}'.format( stats ) )
The above code will not work because the format() call is not reading the dictionary values and using those in place of my format placeholders. How can I modify my code to work with my dictionary?
i need the source code of an application that can upload and download automatically from the remote computer (FTP) using java langauge. if any body gey help or the code, kindly contact me through my mail address [email protected]. thanks

Hi All,
I am wondering is there any way we can test the font size/color of a webpage in IE6+. I think it is not possible by checking the css class, as some other style may overwrite the styles of the class which has been assinged to that text.
Actually I want to know the browser assigned font-size to the text of the page, as we can do it in firebug on firefox.
Any help would be appreciated.
I have an app that displays a large amount of information. For paging I'd like to use the "Home Screen" style scrolling/paging instead of the one used in pdf documents (smooth scrolling). How what should I use? also can that UI support more than 20 pages? or is there a better solution?
I am trying to make a bar chart using tables, which I have almost accomplished to my liking. The last step I want is text over my image which represents the bar. Here is the code I have thus far for building my little bar charts:
$height = 50;
//build length
$width = 450;
$multi = $brewAvg / 5;
$width = $width * $multi;
print " <tr > <td > $count. <a href=\"$breweryURL\"> $brewR</a> </td> <td > <img src=\"blueBar.png\" width=\"$width\" height=\"$height\"> </td> </tr> ";
And this produces something like this:
You can see in the code how I simply calculate the length of the bar based on a breweries rating. What I want to do next is have the rating number show on top of each breweries on the left hand side. How would I go about accomplishing this?
Update:
I tried a tutorial I read here:
http://www.kavoir.com/2009/02/css-text-over-image.html
and I changed my code to this:
print "<div class=\"overlay\"> ";
print " <tr valign=\"middle\" > <td > $count. <a href=\"$breweryURL\"> $brewR</a> </td> <td > <img src=\"blueBar.png\" width=\"$width\" height=\"$height\"> </td> </tr> ";
print"
<div class=\"text\">
<p> $brewAvg </p>
</div>
</div>
";
And my css I added was this:
<style>
.overlay {
position:relative;
float:left; /* optional */
}
.overlay .text {
position:absolute;
top:10px; /* in conjunction with left property, decides the text position */
left:10px;
width:300px; /* optional, though better have one */
}
</style>
And it did put any of the value son top of my images. All the text is in a list above all the bars like this:
hello friends

I've got some Java code that runs quite the expected way, but it's taking some amount of time -some seconds- even if the job is just looping through an array.
The input file is a Fasta file as shown in the image below. The file I'm using is 2.9Mo, and there are some other Fasta file that can take up to 20Mo.
And in the code im trying to loop through it by bunches of threes, e.g: AGC TTT TCA ... etc The code has no functional sens for now but what I want is to append each Amino Acid to it's equivalent bunch of Bases. Example :
AGC - Ser / CUG Leu / ... etc
So what's wrong with the code ? and Is there any way to do it better ? Any optimization ? Looping through the whole String is taking some time, maybe just seconds, but need to find a better way to do it.
import java.io.BufferedReader;
import java.io.File;
import java.io.FileNotFoundException;
import java.io.FileReader;
import java.io.IOException;
public class fasta {
public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException {
File fastaFile;
FileReader fastaReader;
BufferedReader fastaBuffer = null;
StringBuilder fastaString = new StringBuilder();
try {
fastaFile = new File("res/NC_017108.fna");
fastaReader = new FileReader(fastaFile);
fastaBuffer = new BufferedReader(fastaReader);
String fastaDescription = fastaBuffer.readLine();
String line = fastaBuffer.readLine();
while (line != null) {
fastaString.append(line);
line = fastaBuffer.readLine();
}
System.out.println(fastaDescription);
System.out.println();
String currentFastaAcid;
for (int i = 0; i < fastaString.length(); i+=3) {
currentFastaAcid = fastaString.toString().substring(i, i + 3);
System.out.println(currentFastaAcid);
}
} catch (NullPointerException e) {
System.out.println(e.getMessage());
} catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
System.out.println(e.getMessage());
} catch (IOException e) {
System.out.println(e.getMessage());
} finally {
fastaBuffer.close();
}
}
}
I'm using twitter bootstrap in my application. i gave e.preventDefault for link button in $(document).reday(), but it is not working.
Here is my code:
Master page:
<a id="lnkLogout" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="PageLogout();"><i class="icon-off">
</i>Logout</a>
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
$(document).ready(function () {
$('#lnkLogout').click(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); });
});
function PageLogout() {
//Code for logout from the application....
}
</script>
SampleDefaultPage.aspx :
<div class="row-fluid">
<div class="form-horizontal">
<h4 class="header blue bolder smaller">
Contact</h4>
<div class="control-group">
<label for="form-field-email" class="control-label">
Email</label>
<div class="controls">
<input type="text" style="width:200px;" data-val="true" data-val-required="Mobile Number is required." id="txtEmail">
<div class="space-3">
</div>
<span data-valmsg-replace="true" data-valmsg-for="txtEmail" class="field-validation-valid text-warning red"></span>
</div>
</div>
<div class="control-group">
<label for="form-field-website" class="control-label">
Phone Number</label>
<div class="controls">
<input type="text" style="width:200px;" id="txtPhno">
</div>
</div>
</div>
I have given txtEmail as mandatory field. if i left that field blank and click on Logout button in Master page, it says txtEmail is required. i dint do any validation in Logout onclick event. I have given preventDefault for Logout link. But still facing an issue. I should be able to logout even though txtEmail is left blank.
Thank you all in advance for your response.
Hello friends,
How can i prevent user to enter any url or link in contact form text area, i have tried it with this but its not working -
if (!isset($_POST['submit']) && preg_match_all('/<a.*>.*<\/a>/', $_POST['query']))
{
echo "<h1 style='color:red;'>HTML Tag Not allowed </h1>";
}
else {
//sendmail
}
Please help me
I'm trying to find all LIs with name=checked and hide() them, but this doesn't seem to be working:
$('li').attr("name","checked").hide();
<li name="unchecked" style="display: inline;"><a href="/">Home</a></li>
Any ideas?
$("p").bind("click", function(event){
// code goes here
});
This is quite understandable. But what is the way to use a non-inline function and pass the event as an argument? That is:
$("p").bind("click", myFunction(event));
function myFunction(event) {
// code goes here
}
Thank you!
I see what seems like a majority of Python developers on StackOverflow endorsing the use of concise functional tools like lambdas, maps, filters, etc., while others say their code is clearer and more maintainable by not using them. What is your preference?
Also, if you are a die-hard functional programmer or hardcore into OO, what other specific programming practices do you use that you think are best for your style?
Thanks in advance for your opinions!
c code
extern "C" __declspec(dllexport) int export(LPCTSTR inputFile, string &msg)
{
msg = "haha"
}
c# code
[DllImport("libXmlEncDll.dll")]
public static extern int XmlDecrypt(StringBuilder inputFile, ref Stringbuilder newMsg)
}
I got an error when I try to retrieve the content of newMsg saying that I'm trying to write to a protected memory area.
What is the best way to retrieve the string from c to c#. Thanks.
I'm newly using CODE::BLOCKS+mingw compiler
If I don't type return 0 at the end of program,I can see that main() is returning some integer,I learnt that main() returning 0 infers program executes successfully.I don't find any flaw in my code, why is it returning some integer?
secondly
any function returns its value to its function call, to where does main() return its value?
hi,
what's the best way to customize html-css tooltips ? (I mean an easy cross-browser solution).
I need to reduce the fade-in delay and change the style. (also, could you suggest a good jQuery plug-in for it ?
thanks
So basically I have this little social networking site which allow comments. I've built a comment section that will slide down once a user clicks "Comment" and it slides down under the users status.
My problem is that right now, the JavaScript only works on ONE post ID, and not the rest obviously seeing you can only use an ID once. But of course if I use classes instead, All the comment sections slide down because now they're all the same class. See below for my HTML and JavaScript.
So if someone has a better method out there, please help :)
$(function () {
$(".comment-box").slideUp();
//when "comment" is clicked, slide down the comment box.
if ($(".comment-box-btn").click(function () {
$(".comment-box").slideDown();
}));
//when "cancel" is clicked, slide up the comment box.
if ($(".close-comment-box").click(function () {
$(".comment-box").slideUp()
}));
});
And here's the HTML used
//anchor for "Comment"
<a class="comment-box-btn" href="#"><i class="icon-comment"></i> Comment</a>
//comment box
<div class="row comment-box" style="display:none;">
<div class="col-md-12">
<form accept-charset="UTF-8" action="" method="post">
<textarea class="form-control animated" cols="180" id="new-comment" name="comment" placeholder="Comment.." rows="1"></textarea>
<div class="text-right" style="margin-top:20px;">
<a class="btn btn-default close-comment-box" href="#">
<span class="glyphicon glyphicon-remove"></span> Cancel</a>
<button class="btn btn-info" type="submit">Comment</button>
</div>
</form>
</div>
</div>
When I load content with AJAX, is this content supposed to automatically use the preloaded main page css style ?
For example, if I load a <span class="smallText">hello</span> with AJAX.
Is this new HTML using the default.css file with
.smallText {
font-size:6px;
}
?
After performing an ajax request if the input in the form was wrong I am trying to get this validatationTextBox to be focussed on and display an indicator message showing the problem.
The code is:
dijit.byId("passwordField").focusNode.focus()
The form element is as mentioned a validationTextBox.
The matter that is confusing me even further is that before in dojo 1.5, this piece of code was simply dijit.byId("passwordField").focus() and this worked fine. How can I fix this?
Hi,
I want to execute a query like
select ID from "xyz_DB"."test" where user in ('a','b')
so the corresponding code is like
String s="(";
for(String user:selUsers){
s+= " ' " + user + " ', ";
}
s+=")";
Select ID from test where userId in s;
The following code is forming the value of s as ('a','b',)
i want to remove the comma after the end of array how to do this ?
I'm getting lots of leaks in my code, but none of the leaks point to any of my code (they are all UIKit methods).
I'm running 3.0.
Could someone tell me how I go about figuring out where these leaks are coming from?
<a href="index.html"><img src="image.png"/></a>
IE8 highlights the image with a blue border. I'm not sure what CSS is relevant here, is it just border? Can I use a single CSS style to turn it off, like:
a img
{
...
}
I have some HTML that looks like this,
<div id="mb_contents" style="visibility: visible; opacity: 1; width: 600px; height: 450px;">
I am trying to turn the visibilty to hidden using this js/mootools,
$('mb_overlay').set('styles', {
'visibilty': 'hidden',
});
However nothing seems to be working, am I missing something?
