Hi,
Anyone know if it is possible to perform faceted searches with NHibernate.Search and Lucene.NET or do you need to implement something like Solr as well to get this functionality.
I haven't been able to find anything regarding this in the docs.
Thanks!

Is it possible, from within ASP.NET MVC, to route to different controllers or actions based on the accessing device/browser?
I'm thinking of setting up alternative actions and views for some parts of my website in case it is accessed from the iPhone, to optimize display and functionality of it. I don't want to create a completely separate project for the iPhone though as the majority of the site is fine on any device.
Any idea on how to do this?
Hello,
I have a password hash that is stored in a table and is put there by the following coldfusion script-
#Hash(EnCrypt(UCase(GetPass.username),EnCode))#
I am trying to add some outside functionality within a c# application. I would like to be able to take advantage of the data that already exists so that I can authenticate users. Does anyone know how I can replicate the above coldfusion code in c#?
Thanks for any thoughts.
I'm trying to create a web page where an user could manage diferent placemark. The management is based on create, drag and drop and delete placemarks. At the moment, I've achieved to create multiple placemarks and drag&drop them but I'm not able to delete it because I cannot identify them individually. I'm using the google earth api examples1 but I cannot find this functionality. I want to get the name of the different placemarks, any idea?
I love the way I can resize windows in vim using the mouse.
Is it possible to do the same in GNU screen? If not, is there an alternative to screen that supports this functionality?
I'm using Dundas Chart Profession within my VB program to generate a chart based on my data. Right now I have my charts opening fine but I am unsure how to add the functionality to let the user choose to print (and export) the chart once the program is running.
Hi,
I have a folder named as 2010.
In this I want a folder for each month like "Jan10", "Feb10"....."Dec10"
In each month folder I want to create folder for "Todays date"
I have create a shortcut for that 2010 folder with Target as
C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /n, /e, /select, F:\2010
I want a functionality that will execute when I click the shortcut for f:\2010 icon.
Any pointer would be great help.
I'm new to unit testing, and I'm learning how to use NUnit and Moq. NUnit provides Assert syntax for testing conditions in my unit tests, while Moq provides some Verify functions. To some extent these seem to provide the same functionality.
How do I know when it's more appropriate to use Assert or Verify?
Maybe Assert is better for confirming state, and Verify is better for confirming behavior (Classical versus Mockist)?
I have used MFMailComposeViewController class in my iPhone app for email functionality. When I try to fill email body keypad comes. Here How can I use resignFirstResponder for that email body textfiled in MFMailComposeViewController class.
What DLLs would have functions for accessing things in the System Tray? Do I even need the winapi, or are there classes already available in the Class Library for this? I'm hoping to find a way to emulate all the functionality of the system tray, i.e. the icons, the mouseover text, and the capability to display the context menu.
I often find the following type of incremental definition useful:
(define (foo) (display "bar"))
(foo)
;prints bar
(define foo (let ((bar foo))
(lambda ()
(display "foo")
(bar))))
(foo)
;prints foobar
How do I preform this type of incremental definition with macros?
I could not get let-syntax to provide the same functionality.
Currently I use plt scheme, but would like to see answers in different lisp implementations as well.
Does anyone have a good solution for testing mobile websites in Visual Studio 2010?
In VS 2008 I used to be able to start up a mobile emulator. That functionality seems to be gone in 2010.
I hate the standard Query window that comes up when you select new query on a data connection in server explorer, I'd much rather have a T-SQL Editor come up. Is this possible?
Maybe not replace that functionality but a shortcut key or something that would bring up a T-SQL editor?
I need the ability to use custom locks at a session level (outside the scope of a transaction) in oracle.
In MSSQL I am using sp_getapplock, sp_releaseapplock.
How can I achieve the same functionality in Oracle?
I wish to embed webkit in a windows mobile application. The goal is to allow it to run web apps. I've tried the Qt version, but only webkit is required and not the rest of the functionality Qt has.

Hi there,
I have done some work with JSF(using netbeans as the IDE) and within your jsp/xhtml file you get code on beans/resource bundles that your have defined.
ATM I am investigating struts2 and seem to be unable to get similar functionality in the IDE. Is this just the case with the IDE or do I need to define something?
Thanks
Hi,
I'm testing a very simple WCF-Service with REST functionality enabled.
It works fine on IIS, but the VS2010 debug webserver always says "The resource cannot be found" when appending the parameter after the .svc file in the browser uri.
Is this a known issue with the asp.net debug webserver that it cannot work with REST or am I doing anything wrong? (again: with IIS, it works)
I have an application that needs to do some actions every date change say at midnight. Whenever the date changes the application should be said of the same. Any help regarding how to implement the functionality would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Hi. We're building a site and wish to build for the same set of browsers Google Apps/Docs and YouTube support. Though not recommended, they seem to be detecting specific browsers/versions vs. features/functionality. What's the best way to support a minimum set of browsers while displaying a message to the users of older browsers to upgrade? What's the minimum set of browsers that the major sites are supporting? Thanks.
I am working to integrate unit testing into the development process on the team I work on and there are some skeptics. What are some good ways to convince the skeptical developers on the team of the value of Unit Testing? In my specific case we would be adding Unit Tests as we add functionality or fixed bugs. Unfortunately our code base does not lend itself to easy testing.
