I want to add email notification functionality - users can subscribe to one or more tags and receive email notifications when new posts are added. Currently I have a Tag model. There will be a Subscriber model (containing the user's email) Do you think I also need a Subscription table where Subscriber and Tag are joined? .. or I can skip it and directly link Subscriber with Tag?

    I find myself doing the following or similar quite often: Request::instance()->redirect(Route::get('route')->uri(array('action' => 'action'))); Or: Request::instance()->redirect(Route::get(Route::name(Request::instance()->route))->uri(array('action' => 'action'))); I'm wondering if there's any short, easier, simpler way of doing this. I love the Route functionality, but it makes for some long lines of PHP.

    The iPhone Mail application has an edit button in the navigation bar. Tapping that button shows a delete button in the toolbar and shows checkbox controls in the table cells. I could not get let-syntax to provide the same functionality. Currently I use plt scheme, but would like to see answers in different lisp implementations as well.

I'm currently leaning toward Trac, as it's Wiki functionality can be used to support documentation. But that might not be a good enough reason to jump on Trac.

    I am looking to build a widget for a site which allows users to tag images from individual frames of a video file but would prefer not to have to build a custom Flash tool. Is there an existing free library or framework which simplifies things like this in a webapplication setting? Features would also involve basic video playback functionality as well as time-driven meta-data and the ability to extract images from individual video frames. Are there existing open-source web-based tools for video manipulation other than building your own custom Flash app?

    My website will be using only OpenID for authentication. I'd like to pull user details down via attribute exchange, but attribute exchange seems to have caused a lot of grief for StackOverflow. What is the current state of play in the industry? Does any OpenID provider do a decent job of attribute exchange? Should I just steer away from OpenID attribute exchange altogether? How can I deal with inconsistent support for functionality?
