Is there good tool that can do same thing as windows 'mstsc' and also has some features, like
save different session info, so don't need to remember difference IP/ID/pwd. Thanks.
Whenever I select 'Control Panel' from my taskbar all it comes up with is an open window with nothing in it. I'm running Vista and have recently turned of UAC (if this makes a difference). Can anybody help me to change this?
Ever since i installed windows 8, I'm unable to use Ctrl + Shift + Arrow Keys (to select words and phrases quickly in text editors) with any program.
Ive found the same issue with other models of Logitech keyboards (not with any other brand, though) however, the solutions provided to those other models aren't working for me (or are impossible to complete, because of the difference in the model)
If you have a possible solution, please reply! Thank you.
I currently have a dual-core processor at work and a quad-core at home. I've noticed both PCs are pretty equal as far as launching applications/surfing the web.
The difference I can see is that my dual-core is 2.8GHz and my quad-core is 2.4GHz.
Is it better to have a dual-core with a fast clock speed or a quad-core with a mediocre clock speed?
Hi,
In windows you can press the Windows key plus "E" to get the Windows Explorer window to open up any time.
Is there an equivalent global hot-key to get the file explorer to show up?

(Ubuntu Karmic if it makes a difference)
When I run emacs with -nw option, the emacs really open, but I can't do more nothing. As if the user input is blocked and no keyboard signal is received and/or interpreted. I've tried run without load .emacs file and some other behaviors:
emacs -nw -Q --no-desktop --debug-ini foo.c
But makes no difference and strangely the GUI-version(using Gtk) is working fine.
My gnu-emacs version is GNU Emacs 23.3.1
Any help to help to fix it is very appreciated.
I'm seeing a hugh difference of free disk space between
df -h
and du -sxh /
I've understood in my question Resolving unix server disk space not adding up that du -sxh / is a better estimation as to when I will run out of disk space. Having said that, assuming in my case the above sentence will prove to be wrong and I will run soon out of disk space, what will happen? I assume the MySQL will fail INSERT queries, but other than that, will I just need to delete some files or will it be a problematic situation?
Hello, everyone!
Opera (version 10.10) under Linux (don't know about other OSes) does not recognize http://0.0.0.0/ as local address (http://127.0.0.1/) , while Firefox does.
What is the differencebetween these addresses?
Which ob the two browsers in this case is standard conform?
In a bug post I sent to the chrome developers, a developer sent me the message:
We don't see this difference in the
new builds of Chrome. Checked in
6.0.437.2 dev. Can you check and confirm again?
I'm wondering how can I run the latest (development) version of Chrome for Mac OS X?
Ideally I don't want to build the project.
3 of the six USB ports on the back on my new ASUS Z87 PRO motherboard are not functioning properly. They do seem to deliver power, just don't seem to function for data (devices attached in these ports are detected by windows, or usable in UEFI)
I think I'm right in saying that the top 4 ports (3 of which aren't working) run off an additional USB controller (not from the Z87 chipset) if that makes any difference.
I'm pretty sure that I'll just have to return it, but any advice on diagnosing the problem would be welcome.
Please...
I wants to know exactly about virtuallization technology and what is the differencebetween hardware virtualization and software virtualization.
I want to add a 1.5 - 2 TB hard drive to a Linux file and backup server we have in the office.
Will it make a difference if I'm using 5400 RPM vs a 7200 RPM hard drive? I was thinking about getting a Western Digital Green Drive or Samsung Ecogreen or similar.
My development machine is heavy on memory usage. It currently only has 4GB of PC5300. I'm going to buy 8 GB of RAM, but should I take out all my existing memory and install just PC6400 or leave some of the original and stick with 5300? I don't know if I'll ever need more than 8GB, I might, I'm just wondering if the speed differencebetween 5300 and 6400 is worth trashing the 2 or 3 GB of old RAM I would still have room for after adding the new RAM.
Once a year I am making a clean install on windows, in order to keep my system fast. After posting a question on making a bootable windows usb with exe programs where I was adviced to make a disk image, a new question rose.
What is the difference in making a disk image and performing a clean install on windows? Which is better in terms of speed, general performance, value for time and transfering between different computers?
When reading definitions for a server service (e.g. iis) you will often find that there are several cross references to a virtual server but none seem to definitively refer to the two as the same.....
Can somebody help me to understand the differences - I cannot get my head around what the differencebetween each is?
Ideally I would like to know the differences between the following/or indeed if any refer to the same...
1) Logical Server
2) Virtual Host
3) Logical Partition
4) Physical Server Vs Virtual Server
5) Server Service Vs Virtual Host
Or should I pony up for a usb 3.0 external hard drive? (my mobo will support it)
I intend to only use it for playing videos if that makes a difference.
I know close to nothing about hardware so let me know if you need more info.
So on my Windows Server 2008 box, I have a DNS server installed on it. For some reason, every ten minutes or so, the Host (A) address for the computer keeps on changing to its internal private IP address. I want it to have its public address for Active Directory purposes, but it keeps changing itself back to the private IP address. Any idea as to why, and how to change it?
If it makes a difference, this is an Amazon EC2 server.
Thanks
I've been using itunes streaming (in part cause its easy) to access my music collection between two windows PCs. I'm half certain it sounds kinda 'flat' so i'm wondering, what bitrate it uses, and format - it sounds fine off a PMP, and even better on a PC, so i assume i can tell the difference.
I've got a TFS 2012 project set up with custom work items, that include Start and Finish date read-only fields (Microsoft.VSTS.Scheduling.StartDate and FinishDate). When I publish one of those custom work items from within Office Project, it does not populate those fields the same way as when I publish a Task work item (builtin TFS work item).
I've looked at the transitions in the work items, and also the TFS project field mapping XML file but can't find anything that explains the difference in behaviour. What am I missing?

If you turn on encryption in SAP between the client and the server using the Secure Network Connection, then is there a load placed on the server to do all the encryption work? How big a load? Is it equivalent to the differencebetween HTTP and HTTPS on a web server?
