• Revo 3610 not doing hdmi handshake

  I am having a problem with my Revo 3610 witch is connected to my tv via hdmi. For some reason will it not do the hdmi handshake with the tv, so my tv does not think that there are anything in the hdmi port. I have tested the tv and it works find, with my laptop and dvd. It dose work some times, but this time have it failed for 2 days in a row, and i have tried rebooting, turning the tv off and on, and so on nothing helps. I can trick the TV to listen to the HDMI with connecting with my laptop and then change the hdmi back to my revo, this on the other hand results in the image going thoug nicely but there are a big fat "Check signal cable." on the screen. I have also tryed changing the resolution in the revo but this dose not help ether. Have any one had this problem before, and if so how did you fix it? Example: http://i.imgur.com/gguZ4.jpg

• Audio comes out of both headphone and speaker at the same time.. Ubuntu 12.04LTS [closed]

  I have the same issue on an Aspire. Ubuntu 12.04LTS 64bit realtek audio sound chip onboard If I plug in a headset, audio does not switch from internal speaker to headset, instead plays out of both at the same time. I have looked at the alsamixer setting, all on. I installed gnome-alsamixer, and I noticed headphone was ticked, if I untick the main audio mutes, and the headphone no longer works. Headset only works with internal speaker. • How do I get Graphics drivers / bluetooth / card reader working on an Acer Aspire V3-571G?

  A couple of days ago I bought an Acer Aspire V3-571G laptop without a system installed on it. The only thing that was there was Linux Linpus. I created a bootable CD with Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit - I read that my processor was 64 bit and that it might be a good configuration for my gear (I'm not especially fluent with all the computer stuff, still trying to learn) and replaced Linpus with Ubuntu. Everything seemed to work fine, but there're few exceptions to that which came pass my way. My bluetooth doesn't work. It seems to be switched on, but when I check my system settings the button is actually off, and I can't drag it 'perminently' to the 'on' position. Tried a couple of commands I found on the net, none of them helped and there was no word whatsoever in my BIOS settings about enabling bluetooth. My card reader has some serious problems with copying more than one file at a time. I tried to put some music on my phone through a MicroSD card adapter (because my bluetooth doesn't work) and it got stuck every single time I copied an album on it.   Requires keyring and authentication to install and unistall programs or update anything. I just want to restart from scratch so i can clean it up anyways. Can anyone help? Also, on start up a list on a black screen will come up saying Ubuntu with linux version 26.32-40 generic or recovery version and at the bottom of different versions has one Window 7 loader option. When I get into recovery menu to try and restore to factory settings my netbook has no restore option. I've tried pressing alt-f10 and holding alt and repeatedly tap f10 but nothing seems to work, and my acer asks for a password login to even load windows 7 which I don't have. Any ideas? I've looked a lot on the internet for help but I'm getting to my last resort, to get of this thing for once and for all. I want to be able to personalize and add programs as I please, this is all bs to go through to unistall one freaking game or get rid of ubuntu gnome keyring!! Please help!! Thank you. :)

I downloaded the ubuntu-12.04.1-alternate-amd64 ISO and used the universal usb installer to install the Ubuntu When I reboot on the external hard drive, I have the language selection, then the menu...I choose to install...and I get a black flickering screen. and nothing more. Any suggestion?

  I have an Acer Aspire S3 ultrabook. It comes with two separate drives, one 320 gb hdd and a 20 gb ssd, which Windows uses for hibernation. I formatted the SSD and installed Ubuntu on it. How do I format the SSD so that Windows recognizes the SSD as the hibernation drive, like the way it came out of the box? Acer really had an interesting way of using the SSD. I'm just trying to get the laptop ready to sell, so I figured I would get it back to normal.

  I have installed and configured Postfix and Cyrus IMAP server with webcyradm according to this document - http://www.delouw.ch/linux/Postfix-Cyrus-Web-cyradm-HOWTO/html/index.html . I can access webcyradm interface, I can create new domains and new users, and I can login via IMAP after creating the user account. However, Postfix fails to deliver mail to cyrus mailboxes. Mail log contains errors shown below. Installing any IMAP server other than cyrus is not an option because it is needed by the web application. Please advise me how to make Postfix deliver email to cyrus mailboxes. The solution should not necessary include web-cyradm, but there should be a web interface for managing mail domains and mailboxes as user-friendly as possible. • How to achieve reliable Gigabit Ethernet Link with my Acer Aspire Revo R3610?

  I want to stream HD movies over my wired Gigabit LAN from my PC to my Acer Aspire Revo R3610. It's connected with a 3ft Cat5e patch cable to my Netgear GS605v2 Switch. The PC acting as File Server is connected at 1Gbps to the Switch. Network driver options are set to defaults, including automatic speed/duplex negotiation on both machines. The Revo will not connect to my Network Switch at 1Gbps - the OS reports that it reverts to 100Mbps either shortly after connection or immediately upon connection. Through a process of elimination (trying different drivers, patch cables, ports on the switch, and other 1Gbps-capable devices connected to the Network switch which successfully achieve 1Gbps links and performance) I have drawn the conclusion there is either a Hardware or Software (Driver) issue with the Revo itself. I have performed tests using Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10. Can anyone offer insight on Gigabit Ethernet with the Revo?

• How do I connect my Windows XP laptop to the internet?

  Hello fellow super users, The Past I have a Acer Travelmate 2300 laptop running Windows XP. 6 months ago I moved into a new apartment and got a new internet connection set up. After getting an internet connection installed in my apartment I reinstalled Windows XP and at the same time wiped my drive clean losing all the original Acer software and drivers. Once XP was reinstalled I had to find all the drivers again to get the Travelmate laptop connected to the internet. So, using my Vista laptop which was connected fine, I went to the Acer Travelmate Series drivers download page to download the necessary drivers. I transferred them to my Acer XP machine and installed them the best I could (there were no easy instructions so I just had to find all the executables and run them). I eventually got connected to the internet but not exactly in the way I had hoped for. The Present To be connected to the internet I need to have an Ethernet cord connecting my computer (via the Ethernet port) to my router. This is a problem since it defeats the purpose of having a Wireless LAN card in my Acer laptop. One of the programs I downloaded from the Acer Travelmate Series page was the Acer Wireless LAN Configuration Utility. This program allows me to see the current network I am connected to and all the available networks I could potentially connect to. It reminds me of XP's Wireless Network Connection window/utility where you can see all available wireless networks, refresh the network list and connect to one of the networks. I should mention that my ISP set up a security enabled wireless network with WPA. This network requires a network key if you want to connect to it. I guess my Vista computer has the network key entered into it already. The problem is that I do not know what the network key is. Now obviously you would say just contact my ISP to get the key. And I will but there is just one extra weird issue. I am able to connect to another unsecured wireless network in the Wireless Network Connection window/utility. I can be on it as long as my Ethernet cable is plugged in. So this is not really wireless is it? And this indicates that even if I do get that network key password from my ISP, I will only solve one of the two problems I have. I will only solve being able to get online as long as I am connected to my router via the Ethernet cable. The Main Questions So how do I enable my acer IPN2220 Wireless LAN Card so that I can use my Acer laptop from anywhere with in my apartment? Or should I first get the network key from my ISP to access my security enabled wireless network? And then deal with getting the acer IPN2220 Wireless LAN Card working? Hard & Learned VS Easy & Stupid Of course contacting the ISP would be easier. Have em just come in here and do there thing. The problem with that is that they do not speak English (yeah, im in Poland) and it'd be a hell of a time trying to understand what they are doing (uncomfortable looking over their shoulder). Also, I want to learn how to do this task myself so that I can fix the problem if it ever happens again. You know, be more self sufficient. I look forward to helpful replies. Thanks, Xaviour

  When X.org boots up, Synaptics touchpad works well. But when I remove the module it falls back to /dev/input/mice and don't use normal driver even when touchpad is available again. Xorg.0.log: ... Update: Found answer myself: Doing xinput set-int-prop "Synaptics Touchpad" "Device Enabled" 8 1 after reloading the kernel module reloads touchpad. Now suspend-to-ram works OK.

My question is: How is it possible to watch 3D content? What extra hardware/software will I need? EDIT: Found this information in the user manual: DLP 3D function: Choose while using DLP 3D glasses, quad buffer (NVIDIA/ATI…) graphic card and HQFS format file or DVD with corresponding SW player. 3D Sync L/R: If you see a discrete or overlapping image while wearing DLP 3D glasses, you may need to execute "Invert" to get best match of left/ right image sequence to get the correct image (for DLP 3D). ...but I'm still at a loss. What is a quad buffer graphics card?

• Monitor-Specific Color Profile Results In Yellow Grayscale Images

  I recently purchased a new Acer S201hl monitor. Many lay reviews compliment its color accuracy with people noting only a bit of a blueish tinge. After a little time, Windows found, and I installed, the Acer drivers via Microsoft Update. During the installation process, the software installed an ICC profile for the monitor from Acer. I recently noticed that when I view photos using Windows Live Photo Gallery, the colors are wrong. For example, grayscale document scans appear with yellow backgrounds instead of white backgrounds. This happens with both my external monitors and my ThinkPad's built-in screen. When I removed the monitor-specific profile from the list of profiles associated with a monitor (for example, removing the Acer profile from the Acer monitor), the problem went away for that screen. I checked with Microsoft KB939395 and though it says "an incorrect color profile [...] is used for the monitor," the profile associated with my ThinkPad's screen seemed to be correct, based on its name.

  I have an Acer Aspire X1200 (specs link below) desktop computer that I've installed Boxee on and it works great. And it looks like it's going to be a perfect computer for a media player.   i had been using bluetooth fine, with devices working, but today when i turned on my computer again bluetooth strangely failed. there is a bluetooth icon on the top bar, showing "bluetooth on", but if i click on the "bluetooth settings" item, a system settings window shows up and shows me a bluetooth on-off switch which is disabled (i.e. fixed to off). more information about my case: i am a new linux used, coming from windows, and do not know supposedly-obvious commands. i am using a laptop. it initially doesn't have bluetooth. i bought a built-in type (instead of USB type) bluetooth module, and added it inside the laptop. hence, i do not have a specific FN+* key for bluetooth. in windows, i needed to install an additional driver that was intended for other machines in my laptop's seires which have built-in (i.e. factoryly built-in)j bluetooth modules. the Fn+* key seemed to only affect wifi under ubuntu. i have been successfully using magicmouse with my later-added built-in bluetooth module/adapter on both windows and ubuntu i have been trying to tweak the magicmouse scrolling speed with commands rmmod something, modprobe hid_magicmouse --scroll_speed=45 --scroll_acceleration=30 or something, then added a file `/etc/modprobe.d/magicmouse.conf". the mouse seemed to be working fine with these changes. now if i run commands like hcitool dev, the shell tells me that i do not have any "Devices" or "adapters". i seem to have bluez installed, because when i type "blue" then tab-autocomplete, a bunch of commands like bluez-test-device pops up. -- update -- some commands and their results: easoncxz@eason-Aspire-4741-ubuntu:/etc$ hcitool dev Devices: easoncxz@eason-Aspire-4741-ubuntu:/etc$ hcitool scan Device is not available: No such device easoncxz@eason-Aspire-4741-ubuntu:/etc$ rfkill list 0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 1: acer-wireless: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 2: acer-bluetooth: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no easoncxz@eason-Aspire-4741-ubuntu:/etc$ rfkill list 0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no 1: acer-wireless: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no 2: acer-bluetooth: Bluetooth Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no

• Ubuntu Software Center will not load and cannot be removed

  My Ubuntu Software Center has stopped working and I have been trying to uninstall/re-install it.   I would like to rid of not mounted ntfs partition from Nautilus' right panel ( I just want 352 GB Filesystem - d drive to be there. First of all 352 GB Filesystem is in fact d so I do not know why it is duplicated. Secondly I have put Acer and SYSTEM RESERVED to be nouser mounts on purpose, so that I (or sombody else) will not format it (or else) by accident.
