  • Unable to connect to Adobe Connect

    I am having troubles trying to connect my colleges Adobe Connect. I have done the test meeting connection and it will say "Unable to connect". I have tried connecting on 3 other computers and it works with flying colors. I am running Norton 360 on my computer and I also tried it on my other laptop thats also running Norton 360 and it works on that laptop. I also checked my hosts file and that is not the problem because I am able to connect to the server (on port 80) but not the Adobe Connect port (port 1935). The only thing in it is "127.0.0.1 localhost" Here are the details from the log that the test created: Player Version: WIN 11,3,300,271 App-Server returned: code:ok, servers=rtmp://connect.bowvalleycollege.ca:1935/_rtmp://localhost:8506/,rtmpt://connect.bowvalleycollege.ca:443/_rtmp://localhost:8506/ ERROR: FMS Server did not return correctly! Here is my specifications: Windows 7 SP1 x64 Norton 360 v6.3 (latest) It won't connect in Firefox v15, Chrome v19, or IE9 All of my computers are connected through the same router (D-Link DIR-625) Any ideas?

  • Why would the IIS UrlRewrite module continue redirecting requests after the rule is removed?

    Our application uses the IIS UrlRewrite module to temporarily redirect requests during upgrades to a maintenance site. We have seen a few instances where even though the redirect rule has been removed, the server continues to redirect all requests according to the removed rule. There does not seem to be any pattern with this, and has only occurred once or twice. We have taken the following steps to try and determine the cause of this behavior. Verified that the original rule was a 307 temporary redirect Requested the application from machines that had never requested it before Used a different browser Added and removed a dummy rule from the IIS management console Checked the http kernel cache using netsh http show cachestate Modified the applicationHost.config file by hand (the rule was not still in the file, we just added a superfluous space) In the past when this has happened, we have been able to restart IIS and it solves the problem but that is not always an option and we really want to figure out what the root cause is. How or why would UrlRewrite be caching the response and not responding to configuration changes?

  • Can I make my drives visible and change their partition type without losing my data?

    I have made a lot of mistakes and now I cannot see my hard disk nor I can start my operating system on my laptop. All my passwords and important files on my hdd without any backup. I followed this course of action Changed my hard disk partitions to dynamic just for getting 5th partition. (1st mistake) Decreased partitions to 4 again. Backed up operating system from 4th to 3rd partition with Norton Ghost. Booted from a live CD for Windows XP. Formatted 4th partition and moved my all important data from 1st and 2nd partitions to the 4th partition. Deleted 1st and 2nd partitions and got 1 partition from half of empty space. So I have just 3 partitions and empty space between 1st and 2nd partitions. Tried to install Windows 8 to the first partition but it did not allow because it is dynamic. Also it did not allow to install to other partitions. Tried to install Windows XP to the 1st partition but it said if I continue I cannot use other drivers. Therefore I escaped from installing it. Booted from the Windows XP live CD then increased 1st partiton to less than 400mb of empty space. Therefore I thought it will be adjacent but it was shown as 2 partitions. In my computer I see just 3 drivers. Using Norton Ghost I recovered my OS to the 1st partition. (2nd mistake it was on 4th partition originally) Booted from a Windows XP live CD I tried to install bcdedit to the Windows XP live CD but it did not work. Then I tried to install EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition. It was installed with errors then I start it and it showed me an error like there is no hard disk. I looked to my PC and my drivers were not there. Booted from the Norton Ghost CD and it did not show me my drivers either, but before I was able to see them. I checked numbers of partition shown by the Norton Ghost utility and they are still have same numbers so I have to see my drivers but I cannot see them now. My hard disk is shown as extarnal dynamic now so I cannot see any drive in my PC in the live Windows XP. There are two options; first one is import extarnal disk and second one is convert disk to basic. Will they delete my data? I fear booting from CDs like Windows XP live CD, Norton Ghost CD, and the operating system CD/DVD, because they may overwrite a few MB their data to my data. These recover tools are already exist in Windows XP live CD by The Ultimate Boot CD for Windows. Can any of them help me?   • Default browser hangs

    Intermittent hangs would occur when I would use Internet Explorer to open a new main page or new tab to a site I know would be up. The browser would open and say "Waiting for site example.com" and do nothing more. If I closed the window and reopened it it would immediately connect. Over time I would have to close and reopen the window to get to the page. This would happen to any page, including Google. Got sick of it and started using Chrome. I recently upgraded my anti-virus and am now experiencing the same issue with Chrome. I use AVG for my antivirus. Empirically it seems that if I don't make Chrome my default browser I don't experience the issue. I tested this theory for over two hours yesterday. Possible issues I have found this could be but not confirmed yet: MTU settings are not correct. I am infected but my antivirus has not caught it (unlikely but possible) ?? I would like to think this is related to my antivirus but I am unsure how to verify. I don't like the idea of killing my antivirus if #2 is a possibility. I am looking for tips on how I can troubleshoot possible issues.

    After looking around I can't find a simple answer to this problem. I am trying to create an MSBuild file to allow me to easily use SpecFlow and NUnit within Visual Studio 2010 express.     This is the weirdest thing ever that has happened to my computer (running Windows 7). I haven't installed anything lastly, except lavasoft adware antivirus When my computer stats then audio starts playing, mostly hip hop There is no programs opened. I tried killing all unknown processed, no success. I tried resetting the firewall options of the antivirus, no success. If I disconnect from internet, then it works. The antivirus is not detecting anything. Is somebody is streaming from another house? Is that possible? and making my life impossible. How can I check and stop this?

    I have a few folders in my Windows folder (I'm running Windows 7) like this: C:\Windows\1C4551A64743409391E41477CD655043.TMP\WiseCustomCalla.dll All they contain is WiseCustomCalla.dll. I've read that it is part of McAfee antivirus or whatever. The problem is: I have never ever installed any antivirus software on my machine. What is this file and what is it doing on my machine? I am also using Steam and PunkBuster if that helps.

    My computer never got infected with a virus before, because I'm using Web of Trust browser plugin, sandboxie and Avast Free antivirus. But today, it got infected with a rogue security application called antivirus.net. I have already removed it using MBAM, SAS, and Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool. And by the way, I was using MSE when my laptop got infected. Seems like the rogue application just killed off the MSE process. And I never even got a warning. I was using the wi-fi from our school, which I think is the cause since most of the computers in our laboratory has rogue applications on it. My question is, how do I prevent this from happening again? It took me about 6 hours to disinfect my computer and I don't want it to happen again. Please enlighten me if these rogue applications really just pop out of nowhere. Note I'm not dumb enough to agree with installing rogue security applications. It just came out of nowhere. I'm happy with MSE, well not after it let antivirus.net penetrate my computer.   • .htaccess redirect for www in parent folder and children react

    We were having a problem with the Norton seal not showing up on our affiliate marketing landing pages (landers). Turns out, the Norton seal was super picky about the "www." prefix. I had folder paths like /lp/cmpx where x was a number 1-100 and indicated advertising campaign number. So, to remedy this, I stuck this in my .htaccess file right after the RewriteEngine On line: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example\.com RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.com/lp/cmp1/$1 [R=302,QSA,NC,L] Trouble is, I had to do that under every campaign folder, changing cmp1 to whatever the folder name was. Therefore, my question is... Is there a way I can do this with an .htaccess file under the parent folder (/lp in this case) and it will work for each of the children? EDIT: Note that I stuck an .htaccess file in /lp just now to test: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example\.com RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.com/lp/$1 [R=302,QSA,NC,L] This yielded no effect to the /lp/cmpx folders underneath, to my dismay.

  • Why would http & https be blocked, even in safe mode with firewall disabled?

    I have a windows 7 machine (dell studio xps). Everything on it seems to be in working order. The network device says it has internet connectivity, and indeed I can ping websites, transfer files via ftp, connect to vpns and remote desktop, but the web won't work. I've disabled the windows firewall and still no go. There are no other firewalls installed. The computer came with a trial of norton 360 so I also used the norton removal tool (which solved a similar problem on another computer for me previously). Any thoughts?

    I worked at a place last year that had a very small image for Windows XP re-builds. It was two Norton GHO files, totalling about 2-3 GB. This is how it worked: Boot into Norton Ghost Map to the network share where the images lived Apply the image to the workstation Reboot It would then load into Windows Setup Enter the Domain Admin credentials so it can join the domain That's it... it would then reboot into Windows and the image was complete. How did they make an image so small? Did they perhaps kick off a Windows install and create an image then? I particularly liked how it required no user input other than a domain admin login.

  • Email sent from Centos end up in user spam folder

    I am facing this issue, I use the default postfix MTA in centos but the mail end up in user spam folder, but this does not seem to be a problem in Debian using exim4, both host have hostname and domain name configured, and relay mail through external smtp host. Both configuration and recieving email header are attached. The different seems that Debian has this additional (envelope tag) and (from) tag other than some minor syntax differences. Any help to resolve is appreciated. The IP address and DNS is masked as follow: 1.2.3.4 = My IP address smtp.host.com = external smtp host for my company [email protected] = account at smtp host centos.abc.com = Local centos server debian.abc.com = Local debian server Thanks.   • HP Pavilion dv6000 graphics issue

    A few days ago my laptop seized up on me while I was playing a game. When I restarted the computer, it sent me back to 640x480 resolution with 16 colors (clearly a graphical issue). In device manager, it shows an error, stating "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" regarding the video card. Upon removing and re-installing the drivers using both Windows Update and my own searching through nvidia's site, it's given me zero results. For kicks, I ran my antivirus (you never know!) and registry cleaner to see if anything would turn up. The antivirus found nothing, but CCleaner found 27 registry errors all dealing with my video card. What could be the cause of this, and what course of action would you recommend in this situation? But there is no option to scan a particular drive on demand by right click on it in windows explore as we had in Windows 7 with MS essential or like other antiviruses. I know we can run a custom scan for the particular drive or specific folder but that process is too lengthy and time consuming. This guide explain that how we can add the Windows Defender in the desktop right click menu, so I'm curious is there a way to add it in the Windows explorer right click menu to launch a search whenever I need to.

    In the last two weeks, when I was using MPC-HC (Media Player Classic Home Cinema) to watch some "justyfied" episodes, my F-Secure Client Security antivirus software alerted me that there was a threat in file A0027132.exe (the number increased each of the three times that the antivirus found a new threat). All these three threats are now quarantined and the files are: 1) C:/System Volume Information/_restore/{72AACB12-6526-40F2-81D7-69DF5809DD8A}\A0027132.exe 2) D:/System Volume Information/_restore/{72AACB12-6526-40F2-81D7-69DF5809DD8A}\A0027133.exe 3) D:/System Volume Information/_restore/{72AACB12-6526-40F2-81D7-69DF5809DD8A}\A0027134.exe The three threats are recognized like: 1. Backdoor.Generic.360086 2. Trojan.Packed.8707 3. Trojan.Packed.8807 F-secure and the OS are both updated at the last release/virus definition.

    I completed a project a year ago. Now a few modification were needed. While trying to test the site, there was an index.html file with a malicious script which had an iframe to another site's jar file. Kaspersky antivirus blocked it. I browsed via ftp to find the file and I deleted it. I also disabled directory listing. Maybe the ftp details of the site owner would have been hacked. I want to report this site to Google, Microsoft, Mozilla, and other antivirus providers. How do I do that? I hope kaspersky would have updated it in their database, but I still want to explicitly report this. Here is the popup kaspersky showed:

  • Unable to install Kaspersky anti virus 2011 on XP

    I recently tried installing Kaspersky antivirus 2011 on my XP (service pack 2) . Everytime I try to install through setup file, it initiates and then I get a pop up message saying Windows XP not compatible ( Sorry could no get the complete error message ) there is also options which come up saying "continue anyway" but it wont allow to click as the system gets hung . I also tried to skip from incompatible software by following the instructions on Kaspersky's website by creating a short cut to setup file and modifying the target field in it but still I get the same message. It also asks me to reboot before I install but it is still the same . Does this mean that I wont be able to install this antivirus software on my machine ? I also wrote to the Kaspersky support but seems they will take ages to reply.

    Google Chrome randomly stopped working one day and is giving me this error: Google Chrome is having trouble accessing the network. This may be because your firewall or antivirus software wrongly thinks that Google Chrome is an intruder on your computer and is blocking it from connecting to the Internet. Here are some suggestions: Add Google Chrome as a permitted programme in your firewall or antivirus software's settings. If it is already a permitted programme, try deleting it from the list of permitted programmes and adding it again. Error 138 (net::ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED): Unable to access the network. I didn't make any changes to my firewall settings between the time it was working and when it wasn't working. I'm using the default Windows Firewall. I added Chrome to the allowed programs and restarted, but that didn't fix the error. I even reinstalled Chrome completely and that didn't work either. Any help would be appreciated. EDIT: I forgot to mention that Firefox and IE9 work fine.
