    - by spoon16
In C# you can get the current ParameterSetName in the ProcessRecord override of a PowerShell Cmdlet with code like this: switch (ParameterSetName) { case FromUriParamSetName: loadFromUri(); break; case FromFileParamSetName: loadFromFile(); break; } I'm trying to figure out how I can get the value for ParameterSetName in a script cmdlet (Advanced Function).

  • Apply Font Formatting to PowerPoint Text Programatically

    - by OneNerd
I am trying to use VBA to insert some text into a PowerPoint TextRange, I use something like this: ActiveWindow.Selection.SlideRange.Shapes("rec1").TextFrame.TextRange.Text = "Hi" However, I can't figure out how to apply bold, italic and underline programatically (I don't see a .RichText property or something similar). What I have is some simple HTML text with bold, italic and underlined text I would like to convert over. Does anyone know how to do this?

  • ABPerson in Core Data

    - by eman
I'm trying to figure out to store a reference to an ABPerson in a Core Data store on an iPhone app. Ultimately, I'd like to be able to sync with a Mac version of the app (I'm assuming ABRecordIDs wouldn't be the same for the iPhone and the Mac). I was thinking of storing the record ID, name, and email and checking against those--is there a better way?

I am unable to find examples where xlwt is used to write into existing files. I have a existing xls file that I need to write to. When I use xlrd to read the file, I cant seem to figure out how to transform the "Book" type returned into a xlwt.Workbook. I would appreciate if someone can point me to an example.

  • In the context of the TFS version control SDK (Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl), what exactl

    - by Frank Schwieterman
In the context of the TFS version control SDK (Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl), what exactly is deletionID? It is a property of Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client.Item. It is also a parameter to some of the query methods on Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client. I'm trying to figure out exactly what it means, and how it might impact queries.

  • Reasons to fail a build

    - by Brian Laframboise
As a build engineer, I'm constantly looking for new and interesting ways to improve our build process - and that includes looking for new and interesting ways to fail our builds! I have yet to find a canonical list of reasons to fail a build ... so I figure it's time to get one created. With that in mind: What build-time checks - both obvious and creative - have you seen fail builds?

  • RhinoMocks AAA Syntax

    - by Bill Campbell
Hi, I've spent a good part of the day trying to figure out why a simple RhinoMocks test doesn't return the value I'm setting in the return. I'm sure that I'm just missing something really simple but I can't figure it out. Here's my test: [TestMethod] public void CopyvRAFiles_ShouldCallCopyvRAFiles_ShouldReturnTrue2() { FileInfo fi = new FileInfo(@"c:\Myprogram.txt"); FileInfo[] myFileInfo = new FileInfo[2]; myFileInfo[0] = fi; myFileInfo[1] = fi; var mockSystemIO = MockRepository.GenerateMock<ISystemIO>(); mockSystemIO.Stub(x => x.GetFilesForCopy("c:")).Return(myFileInfo); mockSystemIO.Expect(y => y.FileCopyDateCheck(@"c:\Myprogram.txt", @"c:\Myprogram.txt")).Return("Test"); CopyFiles copy = new CopyFiles(mockSystemIO); List<string> retValue = copy.CopyvRAFiles("c:", "c:", new AdminWindowViewModel(vRASharedData)); mockSystemIO.VerifyAllExpectations(); } I have an interface for my SystemIO class I'm passing in a mock for that to my CopyFiles class. I'm setting an expectation on my FileCopyDatCheck method and saying that it should Return("Test"). When I step through the code, it returns a null insteaed. Any ideas what I'm missing here? Here's my CopyFiles class Method: public List<string> CopyvRAFiles(string currentDirectoryPath, string destPath, AdminWindowViewModel adminWindowViewModel) { string fileCopied; List<string> filesCopied = new List<string>(); try { sysIO.CreateDirectoryIfNotExist(destPath); FileInfo[] files = sysIO.GetFilesForCopy(currentDirectoryPath); if (files != null) { foreach (FileInfo file in files) { fileCopied = sysIO.FileCopyDateCheck(file.FullName, destPath + file.Name); filesCopied.Add(fileCopied); } } //adminWindowViewModel.CheckFilesThatRequireSystemUpdate(filesCopied); return filesCopied; } catch (Exception ex) { ExceptionPolicy.HandleException(ex, "vRAClientPolicy"); Console.WriteLine("{0} Exception caught.", ex); ShowErrorMessageDialog(ex); return null; } } I would think that "fileCopied" would have the Return value set by the Expect. The GetFilesForCopy returns the two files in myFileInfo. Please Help. :) thanks in advance!

I simply need those two numbers into int col and int row. What's the best way to do this? I was attemping stringstreams, but can't figure out the correct code. Thanks for any help!

  • Can URIs have non-ASCII characters?

    - by Cheeso
I tried to find this in the relevant RFC, IETF RFC 3986, but couldn't figure it. Do URIs for HTTP allow Unicode, or non-ASCII of any kind? Can you please cite the section and the RFC that supports your answer. NB: For those who might think this is not programming related - it is. It's related to an ISAPI filter I'm building.

  • AlertDialog.Builder vs class to extend AlertDialog - Application size

    - by wuntee
I am trying to figure out what is the best way to go about creating dialogs. I can either create my own Dialog class (which, to me, is more clean and organized), or I can use AlertDialog.Builder (which would be done inline, and funky looking)... What are the positivies and negatives of either implementation? The only thing I can think of is application size...

  • Extending Python’s int type to accept only values within a given range

    - by igor
I would like to create a custom data type which basically behaves like an ordinary int, but with the value restricted to be within a given range. I guess I need some kind of factory function, but I cannot figure out how to do it. myType = MyCustomInt(minimum=7, maximum=49, default=10) i = myType(16) # OK i = myType(52) # raises ValueError i = myType() # i == 10 positiveInt = MyCustomInt(minimum=1) # no maximum restriction negativeInt = MyCustomInt(maximum=-1) # no minimum restriction nonsensicalInt = MyCustomInt() # well, the same as an ordinary int Any hint is appreciated. Thanks!

  • How does DataContractSerializer write to private fields?

    - by Eric
I understand how XMLSerializer could work by using reflection to figure out what public read/write fields or properties it should be using to serialize or de-serialize XML. Yet XMLSerializer requires that the fields be public and read/write. However, DataContractSerializer is able to read or write to or from completely private fields in a class. So I'm wondering how this is even possible with out explicitly giving DataContractSerializer additional access rights to my class(es).

  • Excel VBA combox box disable

    - by Chase
Hi all, I am trying to enable/disable a combobox based on the value or state of a second combobox in Excel 2007. I think my code should look something like this: Sub DropDown266_Change() If DropDown266.Index = 2 Then DropDown267.Enabled = False End If End Sub However, I am getting a run time error '424' saying an object is required. I am sure this is a very simple change, but I can't seem to figure it out. Let me know if you need more details. Thanks, Chase

  • Recenter a named buffer that is not neccessarily the current buffer in emacs Lisp

    - by Yu Shen
I'd like to recenter a buffer, called "Lense", where I've inserted some text. I wished to make it the current buffer by "(set-buffer "Lense")", then "(recenter 0))". By the following code segments: (save-excursion (set-buffer "Lense") (recenter 0)) However, it seems that the above code would only recenter the buffer which is the current buffer, and "(set-buffer "Lense")" has no effect to make the current buffer to be "Lense". Please help me to figure out the right way to recenter the named buffer "Lense". Thanks, Yu

  • Facebook fbml add fan button to page

    - by lokust
Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to add a Fan button to a Facebook page (right next to the company name - I've seen this done on a few pages, see for example: http://bit.ly/briOvF ). I've added the FBML application though can't find a great deal of information on the code required for the actual button and then how to place the button on the page. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Many thanks.
