Is there a library out there that is relatively mature and documented?   Hello, I often need to assign a variable, if the source value is set. So far I have done it like this: filters[:red] = params[:search][:red] unless params[:search][:red].nil? • Problem with the way the Ajax Control Toolkit tab control sets the default submit button

  We have a tab control containing some textboxes for doing a search. When you keypress inside one of the textboxes, the tab control sets the default button to be the button immediately following the tab control. This is fine because that's the search button. The problem occurs after the button is clicked and results returned. Now there is no default button, and keypress does nothing. Any suggestions?

  I'm refactoring some client-server code and it uses the terms Response, Result & Reply for the same thing (an answer from the server). And although its not really that important it's become hard to guess which word to use while writing new code, so I'd like to unify the three terms into one and do the appropriate refactoring, but I'm not sure which word is the "best", if there is such a thing. • doublebuffering not reducing the flicker

  I am drawing an grid-work of objects in a Panel. when I scroll the the panel quickly I get a flicker. I thought that enabling the double buffering may take care of this but what I find is that it does not completely draw everything and I am left with blank sections. could anyone give me suggestions as to what may be happening and how I might correct it. UPDATE: I found that I was creating the graphics object with Creategraphics() rather than using the Parameter in the paint method

• how to adjust JFrame and JInternal frames with any screen size?

  I am working on a swing application that starts with JFrame, but all the other frames are included as JInternalFrames, and i am facing some serious screen size problems when i instaled it in different computers, i used the following methode to set the JFrame in full screen Dimension screenSize = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize(); setBounds(0, 0, screenSize.width, screenSize.height); JFrame.setExtendedState(JFrame.MAXIMIZED_BOTH); but thre is no no difference, i want also to adjust the JInternalFrames with the screen size too. if you have any suggestions, solution please help :D

  I've downloaded the "dbd-mysql-0.4.4.zip" and linked it to my project. While I try to run a demo code from NetBeans the very first line require "dbi" gives me an error. Is there a different way to do it? I also tried jruby setup.rb config --with=dbi,dbd_mysql from the command prompt and it gave me the following error: config: unknown option --with=dbi,dbd_mysql Try 'ruby setup.rb --help' for detailed usage. • Remember the values entered on standalone app on the client side

  We have a standalone java swing app, in which the user can print something that he drew, on a printer by giving its IP. Now the requirement is that the app needs to remember the ip that was given the last time by this user. What I could think of till now is (a brute one though) - keep a log file kind of storage on the client machine, and that everytime the app comes up it reads the last submitted one. • Rounded image corners in IE and Firefox

  I cannot make the image a background image to a div and round the div's corners because the image is resized, and as far as I know, you cannot resize a background image. What are my options, if any? Open to all suggestions including wrapper divs and corner images. Also, if it cannot be done in IE but there's a solution for Firefox, that's just fine with me.
