• How can I install Satchmo?

  I am trying to install Satchmo 0.9 on an Ubuntu 9.10 guest off of the instructions at http://bitbucket.org/chris1610/satchmo/downloads/Satchmo.pdf. I run into difficulties at 2.1.2: pip install -r http://bitbucket.org/chris1610/satchmo/raw/tip/scripts/requirements.txt pip install -e hg+http://bitbucket.org/chris1610/satchmo/@v0.9#egg=satchmo The first command fails because a compile error for how it's trying to build PIL. So I ran an "aptitude install python-imaging", locally copy the first line's requirements.text, and remove the line that's unsuccessfully trying to build PIL. The first line completes without error, as does the second. The next step tells me to change directory to the /path/to/new/store, and run: python clonesatchmo.py A little bit of trouble here; I am told that clonesatchmo.py will be in /bin by now, and it isn't there, but I put some Satchmo stuff under /usr/local, create a symlink in /bin, and run: python /bin/clonesatchmo.py This gives: jonathan@ubuntu:~/store$ python /bin/clonesatchmo.py Creating the Satchmo Application Traceback (most recent call last): File "/bin/clonesatchmo.py", line 108, in <module> create_satchmo_site(opts.site_name) File "/bin/clonesatchmo.py", line 47, in create_satchmo_site import satchmo_skeleton ImportError: No module named satchmo_skeleton A find after apparently checking out the repository reveals that there is no file with a name like satchmo*skeleton* on my system. I thought that bash might be prone to take part of the second pip invocation's URL as the beginning of a comment; I tried both: pip install -e hg+http://bitbucket.org/chris1610/satchmo/@v0.9\#egg=satchmo pip install -e hg+http://bitbucket.org/chris1610/satchmo/@v0.9#egg=satchmo Neither way of doing it seems to take care of the import error mentioned above. How can I get a Satchmo installation under Ubuntu, or at least enough of a Satchmo installation that I am able to start with a skeleton of a store and then flesh it out the way I want? • Sendmail - Multiple Domains, One Box - Blocking One Or Two Domains

  I have a number of domains hosted at a web hosting service. They use sendmail to handle incoming email. I have six domains on this service (which we can call aaa.com, bbb.com and so on). Each email account has the same name and one email box. In other words, [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] and all the others go into one box, /var/spool/mail/tango, where my email program on my desktop picks it up. I have done very little work in sendmail. I haven't had to, and I've been warned it's a steep learning curve. But now I'm running into an issue. I was in a business situation where, for years, my email address was on the website for aaa.com. (We won't go into why this was necessary - it wasn't my preference and it's in the past.) Now I'm using [email protected] instead of [email protected]. I was getting about 1,000 or more pieces of spam a day, but SpamAssassin and my own email program caught about 75% of that. (Which still left stuff to delete.) Now, after checking, I see that 90% or more goes to [email protected], the one that was on the web for years. I'd like to deactivate [email protected] and possibly [email protected] and [email protected], but want to keep using [email protected]. Remember, email to tango at any of these domains will go into one email box. I've had people tell me that sendmail can be configured so I can deactivate [email protected] (and other domains) and still use [email protected] (and others, if I want to). In other words, I can configure sendmail to use this account on some domains and not others. One of the people who was teling me this was in tech support at the hosting service. But I wrote to tech support with a work order to do this and now I'm told it can't be done. I can modify config files myself on this account if needed, but I was hoping to just let them do it. (I love delegation -- it means I spend more time doing my stuff.) Is it possible to keep an email account active on one domain and not others with sendmail, when all domains are hosted on the same server? Is there a name for this process or setting? Any information would be helpful - either pointers to instructions so I can do it, or enough info so I can tell tech support, "This is where to look, and it can be done, so please pass my request on to someone who works with sendmail and knows how to do it." Is this something sendmail can do?

  I have to proxy a site which is hosted on an external webspace through my lighty on example.org. My config so far: $HTTP["url"] =~ "^/webmail" { proxy.server = ("/webmail/" => ( # this entry should link to example2.org ("host" => "1.2.3.4", "port" => 80) )) } The webspace provider has configured my domain as vhost. So if i access http://1.2.3.4/webmail/ lighttpd will only deliver the main site of the webspace provider which says "Site example.org was not found on our server." Any suggestions how i have to configure lighty to proxy sites that are only hosted as vhost (and do not have an ip on their own)?

• Backup Exec 11D and Thecus N5200 Pro

  I have a Thecus N5200 Pro integrated into my Windows 2003 AD network. My current backup solution involves Backup Exec 11D but this requires a running service for windows boxes or a similar daemon for linux machines. The N5200 runs a custom linux kernel but as of yet I am unable to add it to my backups through Backup Exec. Does anyone know of a method of backing up directly from the N5200 to Backup Exec without moving the data to an intermediary for archiving?

• Windows Ce 6.0 loses Windows credentials when viewing a web site that's running on Windows 2008 server

  When a user views a web page (with integrated Windows authentication) on WindowsCE 6.0 device, the authentication is lost sporadically. The page being viewed is running on Windows 2008 server. We never had the same issue with Windows 2003 server. The credentials were being asked once and cached for a certain time. My question is: has anything changed in Windows 2008 that doesn't pass the credentials the same way to WindowsCE? The only variable in this scenario is the web server OS - Windows 2003 vs WIndows 2008. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

• Multiple authoritative DNS server on same IPv4 address

  I'd like to maintain a DNS tunnel on my self-hosted server at example.com. I also have a DNS server on it, which serves everything for example.com. I'm currently using dns2tcp for DNS tunneling, on the domain tunnel.example.com. NSD3 is used for serving authoritative zones, because it is both simple and secure. However, I have only one public IPv4 address, which means that NSD and dns2tcp can't listen on the same IP/port. So I'm currently using PowerDNS Recursor using the forward-zones parameter like this: forward-zones-recurse=tunnel.example.com=1.2.3.4:5354 forward-zones=example.com=1.2.3.4:5353 This enables request for authoritative zone to be asked to the correct server, as well as for tunnel requests. NSD is listening on port 5353 and dns2tcp on port 5354. However, this is bad, because the recursor needs to be open. And it actually answers to any recursive query. Do you have any solution for that? I really prefer a solution that doesn't involve setting up BIND, but if you are in the mood to convince me, don't hesitate to do so ;) EDIT: I change the title to be clearer.

  Here's what I am trying to do, unless I am crazy: I am trying to use Tomcat with the multiple workers, so far I got OpenBD working, but having trouble with Railo, and will be tackling Adobe after. each engine deployed as a war separated by different workers I wanted to keep both the sites and engines inside my sites directory I have to remap the symlink for the WEB-INF when I switch engines = have not found a way around this my thought is to have everything separated into modules and I want to be able to execute both cfm and php code in a single site.  Ideally, it would be amazing if there would be a way to not have to remap the symlink as well. thoughts? can this be done? • cPanel web servers mounting home partition to a NAS or SAN

  Hello, I currently have 2 cPanel web servers that are little 1RU dual cpu quad core xeons. They have a lot of resources for processing and handling web requests, and never exceed more than 10% cpu usage. They also have plenty of RAM. The problem is though that they both have RAID 1 160Gb SAS hard disk drives in them that are 75% full, and growing by the day. I didnt think that the amount of disk usage would be so high, but due to the nature of the sites hosted, this has become an issue. The easy fix would be just to upgrade the hard drives to something bigger (probably not of the SAS variety), but I am thinking of keeping the current machines as "processing servers" and buying a central "storage server" with about 12TB of storage. The /home/ partition on each of the 1RU servers would be mounted to a NAS or SAN point on this central storage server. My questions are: - Has anyone got a cPanel setup where they mount /home/ to a NAS or SAN elsewhere? If so, can you provide details as to what you did and how it went :) - Any recommendations on networking? Is gigabit ethernet enough? Is TCP/IP going to be a noticable performance problem? Anyone used a TOE key? - Anyone benchmarked or had any performance issues with SAN over NAS? Any help greatly appreciated. Scott

  I need to execute these statements in all tables for all columns. alter table table_name charset=utf8; alter table table_name alter column column_name charset=utf8; Is it possible to automate this in any way inside MySQL? I would prefer to avoid mysqldump Update: Richard Bronosky showed me the way :-) The query I needed to execute in every table: alter table DBname.DBfield CONVERT TO CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci; Crazy query to generate all other queries: SELECT distinct CONCAT( 'alter table ', TABLE_SCHEMA, '.', TABLE_NAME, ' CONVERT TO CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci;' ) FROM information_schema.COLUMNS WHERE TABLE_SCHEMA = 'DBname'; I only wanted to execute it in one database. It was taking too long to execute all in one pass. It turned out that it was generating one query per field per table. And only one query per table was necessary (distinct to the rescue). Getting the output on a file was how I realized it. How to generate the output to a file: mysql -B -N --user=user --password=secret -e "SELECT distinct CONCAT( 'alter table ', TABLE_SCHEMA, '.', TABLE_NAME, ' CONVERT TO CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci;' ) FROM information_schema.COLUMNS WHERE TABLE_SCHEMA = 'DBname';" > alter.sql And finally to execute all the queries: mysql --user=user --password=secret < alter.sql Thanks Richard. • Can't upgrade Windows Server 2012 Essentials to Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials

  So today was RTM of Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials released. I immediately tried to do an in-place upgrade of an existing RTM 2012 Essentials to RTM 2012 R2 Essentials, but get: Windows Server 2012 Essentials cannot be upgraded to Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials. You can choose to install a new copy of Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials instead, but this is different from an upgrade, and does not keep your files, settings, and programs. You’ll need to reinstall any programs using the original installation discs or files. To save your files before installing Windows, back them up to an external location such as a CD, DVD, or external hard drive. To install a new copy of Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials, click the Back button in the upper left-hand corner, and select “Custom (advanced)”. This seems a bit odd, is this really the case? I can't find anything in the official documentation stating that this upgrade isn't possible.

  On a Windows Server 2012 box, I'm using PS to create a new IIS User (for automated deployments using MSDeploy). • mount_afp on linux, user rights

  I need to mount a remote filesystem on a linux box using the afp protocol. The linux box runs an old Debian 4. I downloaded the source code of mount_afp, compiled it and installed it with all the required packages. Then created /etc/fuse with the following command: mknod /dev/fuse c 10 229 (according to the instructions here) I can mount the remote filesystem as root by executing: mount_afp afp://USER:PASSWD@REMOTE_SERVER/FOLDER /mnt/MOUNTPOINT/ but the same command fails when run as normal user (of the local machine). After reading here and there, I created a group fuse, and added my normal user U to the group fuse: [prompt] groups U U fuse Then modified the group of /dev/fuse, that now has the following rights: 0 crwxrwx--- 1 root fuse 10, 229 Feb 8 15:33 /dev/fuse However, if the user U tries to mount the remote filesystem by using the same command as above, U gets the following error: Incorrect permissions on /dev/fuse, mode of device is 20770, uid/gid is 0/1007. But your effective uid/gid is 1004/1004 But the user U with uid 1004 has also gid 1007 (group fuse). I might think the problem is related to real/effective/etc. ID, but I do not know how to proceed and could not find any clear instructions. Could you please help me? There is also another problem. If I mount /mnt/MOUNTPOINT as root and run ls -l /mnt, I get: drwxrwxrwx 15 root root 466 Feb 8 16:34 MONTPOINT If I run ls -l /mnt as normal user U I get: ? ?????????? ? ? ? ? ? MOUNTPOINT in fact when I try to cd /mnt/MOUNTPOINT I get: $-> cd /mnt/MOUNTPOINT -sh: cd: /mnt/MOUNTPOINT: Not a directory Then I unmount /mnt/MOUNTPOINT as root and run again ls -l /mnt as normal user U I get: 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 6 Feb 8 15:32 MOUNTPOINT/ After reading Frank's answer, I killed every shell/process running with privileges of user U. Still U cannot mount the remote filesystem, but the error message has changed. Now it is: "Login error: Authentication failed". The problem is not related to remote login/password since the same command works perfectly when run as root of the local machine. Since I cannot get mount_afp to work with normal users, I decided to follow mgorven's suggestion. So I run the commands: mount_afp -o allow_other afp://USER:PASSWD@REMOTE_SERVER/FOLDER /mnt/MOUNTPOINT/ and mount_afp -o user=U afp://USER:PASSWD@REMOTE_SERVER/FOLDER /mnt/MOUNTPOINT/ The mount succeeds but user U cannot access the mount point. If U executes ls -l in /mnt U@LOCAL_HOST [/mnt] $-> ls -l ls: cannot access MOUNT_POINT: Permission denied total 0 ? ?????????? ? ? ? ? ? MOUNT_POINT Is it so hard to have this utility working?

• ColdFusion 9 64bit / MAMP Pro 1.9 64Bit on OSX

  I followed this thread and it's associated links. But there is nothing i can do to get CF9 to work. MAMP Pro now has the 64bit version of apache 2.2.   I have question about strange behavior of my openVPN configuration on Debian lenny. I have 2 server configs (one proto tcp-server based and one proto udp based). ISP bandwidth is 7Mbit/7Mbit. When I uses proto tcp-server my download server rate is fine around 6,4 Mbit/s, but upload rate is about 3Mbit/s. When I uses proto udp, my download server rate is around 3Mbit/s and upload rate around 6,4Mbit/s. I tried to handle the MTU, MSSFIX and cipher on/off on server and client configs to synchronize rates, but without solution. • Reboot loop after sysprep of AD machine

  Major screw-up here and I need to find out how much trouble I am in. I have an AD machine that is running Server 2008 R2, hyperv, DHCP and DNS. On the hyperv machine, I have a backup AD instance running along with a handfull of other server 2008 instances. Sysprep was run on the hyperv machine instead of one of the instances. I am attempting to bring the machine back up so I can try a system restore. When I boot the hyperv machine, I get an error that says “Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer , restart the installation” This message occurs in safe mode, AD restore mode and in last known configuration mode. How can I get my OS to boot at this point? Do I need to reinstall 2008 R2 from scratch?

• How to set root public folder permissions in Exchange 2010.

  I am currently running Exchange Server 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2. I have a user that I would like to be able to create/delete public folders in the root public folder. How do I give this user permission to do this? So far I have tried adding the user to the Public Folder Management, Domain Admins, and Administrators groups, and running the following scripts in the powershell: Add-PublicFolderAdministrativePermission -Identity "\" -User "Username" -AccessRights AllExtendedRights -InheritanceType SelfAndChildren This appears to have done something, but the user still cannot create public folders in the root public folder. AddUsersToPFRecursive.ps1 -toppublicfolder \ -User "Username" -Permissions Owner This gives me an access denied error. Any ideas?

In the process of serving tiles it performs a transform on the incoming bbox, and in this process hit's the following error.   My setup is Ubuntu 10.04 on AWS Autossh to create a tunnel for MySQL The tunnel is automatically created using Upstart (/etc/init/autossh.conf): respawn console none start on (local-filesystems and net-device-up IFACE=eth0) stop on [!12345] script #user/IP Address redacted exec autossh -M 20000 -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -L 3306:127.0.0.1:3306 [email protected] end script On boot the tunnel is created, works great. After some random idle time it dies. Any thoughts on how to keep it alive? I don't know what's killing autossh.

• sharepoint 2007 access denied when accessing user profiles via ssp

  Guys I have a really strange problem in regards to sharepoint mysites today I go into user profiles and properties in order to setup a property all of a sudden I get access denied. First off I know that I'm logged in with the correct account after the access denied I decided to click on personalization services and permissions I than get An unhandled exception occurred in the user interface.Exception Information: Cannot complete this action. I'm not seeing anything in the server application logs either. So have any of you guys seen this before is there some kind of way to grant a user account the manage profiles right permission using stsadm. BTW all other fucntions of the ssp are working fine so my question is if the user profiles and my sites of a ssp tanks how do you repair that portion of the ssp? BTW the user accounts that I'm using are site collection owners and also they have full control at the web application level. • How can I resolve Oracle 11g XE connection failure straight after installation?

  I have just installed Oracle 11g XE on a Windows 7 VirtualBox VM, using all the default options. "Getting Started" fails When I click on Getting Started I get taken to http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/f?p=4950 which fails. After some browsing I came across a suggestion to confirm the HTTP port, but I can't get this far, because I can't connect. connect system fails If I select Run SQL command line I get taken to a SQL prompt. I enter connect system and get prompted for a password. I enter the password. I immediately get the following error: ERROR: ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress Process ID: 0 Session ID: 0 Serial number: 0 Info: Start database This happens whether or not I run Start database first. (Start database just opens a Windows command prompt window.) Info: Windows services My Oracle services start as follows: Starting the manual services doesn't resolve the problem. Enabling and starting the disabled service doesn't resolve the problem. Is there something I haven't done? How can I resolve this connection error?

• lsyncd + csync2 : cluster of 3 or more nodes

  I've got 3 (and potentially more) web servers hosting the same content (fronted by a load balancer). Thus, I need to make sure that files on these web servers are the same. It appears that csync2 in combination with lsyncd is able to do synchronize a cluster of nodes, but according to this article there's a problem with cyclic events in such a setup. In other words, the author writes that a file change on one machine would trigger a replication event to other machines, which again would trigger a replication event back to the original machine. It appears that this is a consequence of the setup which uses lsyncd (and inotify) to catch file modification events and from there trigger csync2 to replicate the file tree. Does anyone have experience with lsyncd in combination with csync2. Have you had trouble with cyclic events?
