  • PHP job interview questions?

    - by Richard Knop
Hello, I'm going to attend a job interview on Friday this week. It's an interview for a position of PHP programmer (the company doesn't do websites so I guess they just need somebody to administer their website). I'm expecting there will be more people at the interview and that we will be given some simple questions or tasks in PHP so they can choose. I'd like to ask if anybody has any experience with interviews like this, what should I be expecting? What are the most common questions or simple tasks/programs in PHP employers give to potential employees? Thanks.

  • MFMailComposeViewController broke CSS styles in html template

    - by Victor
I use MFMailComposeViewController to send a message in html format. If my html template contains the css styles: <div class="margin:10 10 10 0"> <a href="domain.name">Go To</a></div> In this case it works good. But if I send: <a href="domain.name">Go&nbsp;To</a> then I see the letter that comes with broken styles as there (3D is not my misprint) <div style=3D"margin:10 10 10 10;"><a href=3D"www.google.com">Go=C2=A0To</a></div> Well as the letter goes broken when I insert in the template symbols from national alphabets. Somebody can tell what the problem and check with yourself?

  • Javascript parse/evaluation order?

    - by Breck Fresen
This is probably a nub question, but I don't understand why this works: <script type="text/javascript"> alert(foo); function foo() { } </script> This alerts "function foo() { }", but I expected the alert to be evaluated before the function foo was defined. Can someone explain what I don't understand about parse/evaluation order or point me to a resource that does? Thanks in advance, -- Breck

  • Create a Editable Grid View as in iBooks

    - by tilomitra
There have been some similar questions asked regarding Grid views, but none have been sufficiently answered (some have been left unanswered as the SDKs were under NDAs at the time). The question is: Can anyone direct me towards a tutorial, or explain to me what steps to take to create a Grid View similar to iBooks, or the Yahoo! Entertainment app on the iPhone? Here's a screenshot of what I mean.

  • Regular Expression for any number divisible by 60 using C# .Net ?

    - by Steve Johnson
Hi there, I need to apply validation on input time intervals that are taken in as seconds. Now i am not really good at Regular expressions. So can any body help making a regular expression that can test whether a number is divisible by 60. I was wondering if i could use to test one that check that the number is divisible by 10 and then check whether the same is divisible by 6. For number divisible by 10 here [\d*0] is the expression i guess. Please correct me if i am wrong. Hope somebody solves my problem. Thanks

  • Traveling Salesman - Nearest Neighbor vs Genetic DEATHMATCH

    - by EvilTeach
Over the last few days I have noted a few web sites that demonstrated TS solution using genetic algorithms. I am looking for your opinion which is better for this particular problem. Heuristics vs Genetic. By better, I mean will yield a shorter/lower cost path. Explain why you feel the way that you do. Examples, and off-site links are welcome.

  • Why do .NET winforms scale improperly at large DPI settings?

    - by Alex
My .NET application (VB.NET 3.5 if you really must know) forms do not properly format when rendered at high DPI settings. All of the fixes I've found so far simply explain the cause of the problem as "certain UI elements do not scale properly". I was wondering if anyone had a more meaningful explanation? Thanks!

  • WPF Localization Using LocBaml: Handling Special Symbols

    - by Aryeh
Hello, I’m dealing with localization of a WPF application (Visual Studio 2010 under Windows 7). I’ve just accomplished the whole process of localization using LocBaml tool, as explained in WPF Globalization and Localization Overview and in related posts. The target language is Italian (it-IT culture). When I run my application in Italian, I have a problem with interpretation of the special symbols of © and ™: they both appear there as a white question sign upon a black diamond-shaped background. The symbols © and ™ appear identically in both English and Italian CSV-files. I tried also the special letters (such as È, à etc.) that are present in Italian but absent in English, and they also are interpreted as the above diamond-shaped question. In Region and Language, I changed the system locale to Italian[Italy], restarted the PC and ran the application again – this helped me in the past to cope with a similar problem in localization of C++ applications under Windows XP, but now it didn’t help, either. Has somebody any idea what is the catch here?

  • Wikipedia embedded in WinForms App Tutorial

    - by RHaguiuda
Can anyone post a tutorial here on how to show a Wikipedia article in a .NET WinForms application (C# or VB)? If the article can be placed in a string it suffices, there`s no need to put it on any control. I found some information on Wikipedia's API. After reading it, I added the reference to web service but can`t find a way to make this work. And if it's possible, explain how images are downloaded from wiki (link or image itself).

  • Rebuilding lazily-built attribute when an underlying attribute changes in Moose

    - by friedo
I've got a Moose class with a lazy_build attribute. The value of that attribute is a function of another (non-lazy) attribute. Suppose somebody instantiates the class with a value of 42 for the required attribute. Then they request the lazy attribute, which is calculated as a function of 42. Then, they have the nerve to change the first attribute! The lazy one has already been built, so the builder will not get called again, and the lazy attribute is now out-of-date. I have a solution now where I maintain a "dirty" flag on the required attribute, and an accessor on the lazy one checks the dirty flag and rebuilds it if needed. However, this seems like a lot of work. Is there a way to handle this within Moose, e.g. using traits?

  • Getting filtered results with subquery

    - by josepv
I have a table with something like the following: ID Name Color 1 Bob Blue 2 John Yellow 1 Bob Green 3 Sara Red 3 Sara Green What I would like to do is return a filtered list of results whereby the following data is returned: ID Name Color 1 Bob Blue 2 John Yellow 3 Sara Red i.e. I would like to return 1 row per user. (I do not mind which row is returned for the particular user - I just need that the [ID] is unique.) I have something already that works but is really slow where I create a temp table adding all the ID's and then using a "OUTER APPLY" selecting the top 1 from the same table, i.e. CREATE TABLE #tb ( [ID] [int] ) INSERT INTO #tb select distinct [ID] from MyTable select T1.[ID], T2.[Name], T2.Color from #tb T1 OUTER APPLY ( SELECT TOP 1 * FROM MyTable T2 WHERE T2.[ID] = T1.[ID] ) AS V2 DROP TABLE #tb Can somebody suggest how I may improve it? Thanks

  • problem binding ListBox on ObservableCollection<T>

    - by Fabian
Hello, I have a strange "problem". Could someone explain me why : If I have in an ObservableCollection, twice (or more time) an item with the same value, then the selections of those values in the ListBox won't work properly ? In fact, what the ListBox is doing when I click on an item(Even in single item selection) : It selects the first item from the ObservableCollection collection with a matching value. so in the case if multiple items with same value are in the collection, then only the first one will be selected !

  • BioPython: extracting sequence IDs from a Blast output file

    - by Jon
Hi, I have a BLAST output file in XML format. It is 22 query sequences with 50 hits reported from each sequence. And I want to extract all the 50x22 hits. This is the code I currently have, but it only extracts the 50 hits from the first query. from Bio.Blast import NCBIXM blast_records = NCBIXML.parse(result_handle) blast_record = blast_records.next() save_file = open("/Users/jonbra/Desktop/my_fasta_seq.fasta", 'w') for alignment in blast_record.alignments: for hsp in alignment.hsps: save_file.write('>%s\n' % (alignment.title,)) save_file.close() Somebody have any suggestions as to extract all the hits? I guess I have to use something else than alignments. Hope this was clear. Thanks! Jon

  • How-to build a droplet application in Xcode4?

    - by Josh
In Xcode3 there used to be a template to build "Droplet" Applications (head/nibless apps that would throw whatever dropped at them at an "on open" Applescript method). In Xcode4 this template is unfortunately gone. What are the required steps to setup an xcode4 droplet project? modify the info.plist i guess to make the app handle drops get rid of the nib (also involves changes in main.m and both AppDelegate.h and AppDelegate.m i guess) Maybe somebody even still has Xcode3 installed and could create an empty applescript droplet app and upload it somewhere? that would be very interesting. thanks! (or is there maybe even a way to export an app bundle created with the AppleScript Editor to Xcode?)
