    In one of my forms I use the rich text editor from Yahoo!. Now i want to store the data from that textarea in a MySQL database. The user can enter anything in that textarea, e.g. many double or single quotes. How can I store that data? Normally we store by adding that data in one variable and then put that in sql, but the quotes cause problems.

    I want to store the last 3 items in an MySQL database in an efficient way. So when the 4th item is stored the first should be deleted. The way I do this not is first run a query getting the items. Than check what I should do then insert/delete. There has to be a better way to do this. Any suggestions?

    Hi, can a MySQL slave instance have different row values for the same ID when binlog_format is set to STATEMENT and we insert something like: insert into foo values(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP) As I understand it, the slave read the SQL statement and execute it thus, if the replication is lagging, could lead to differences for the same row. Right or wrong ? How can I avoid this situation ? Thank you.

    In my MySQL database, I have a float field named "HoursSpent" with values like "0.25", "1.75", "2.5", etc. Is there a way that I can have my SELECT statement format those values in a friendly format like this?: 0.25 = 15 minutes 1.75 = 1 hour and 45 minutes 2.5 = 2 hours and 30 minutes The "HoursSpent" field is supposed to only have values in 0.25 increments, but if somebody were to put something random like 0.16, it would be nice if the SELECT statement handled that by rounding it up to the nearest 0.25 (so in this case 0.16 would become 0.25, or 15 minutes).

    Hey guys i'm using phpmyadmin (php & mysql) and i'm having alot of trouble linking the tables using foreign keys. I'm getting negative values for the field countyId (which is the foriegn key). However it is linking to my other table fine and it's cascading fine.     I'm executing the following query SELECT COUNT(*) FROM table WHERE field1='value' AND (field2 = 1000 OR field3 = 2000) There is one index over field1 and another composited over field2&field3. I see MySQL always selects the field1 index and then makes a join using the other two fields which is quite bad because it needs to join 146.000 rows. Suggestions on how to improve this? Thanks

I'm using mysqldump with the option -T which creates a sql and a txt file per table. mysqldump -u user -ppass db -T path I use that option to be able to restore easily one table. Now I'd like to restore all the tables. mysql -u user -ppass db < path/*.sql Obvously doesn't work Also, I don't know where do my funcs/procs go. Thx
