• Reflection alternative for switch on enum in order to select namespace/class

  Hi, I have an interface named IHarvester. There are 3 implementations of that interface, each under their own namespace: Google Yahoo Bing A HarvesterManager uses the given harvester. It knows the interface and all 3 implementations. I want some way of letting the class user say in which harvester it wants to use. And in the code select that implementation, without a switch-case implementation. Can reflection save my day? Here is the code bits: // repeat for each harvester namespace Harvester.Google { public abstract class Fetcher : BaseHarvester, IInfoHarvester {...} } public enum HarvestingSource { Google, Yahoo, Bing, } class HarvesterManager { public HarvestingSource PreferedSource {get;set;} public HarvestSomthing() { switch (PreferedSource) .... // awful... } } Thanks. I will give my 2 cents of why I want to change this. There several people writing harvesters, I want them to focus only on building more harvesters, without ever needing to update the enum, or at worst, update only the enum.

• iqueryable select/where not working

  I have two tables Boxer and Prospect. Boxers has general stuff like name and and dob etc and a BoxerId While Prospect contains only one value (at the moment) which is a boxerId. If a boxer is a prospect(up and coming boxer) there Id will be in the prospect table. This works fine but now I want to select all boxers that are prospects public static IQueryable<Boxer> IsProspect(this IQueryable<Boxer> query) { //this does not filter down to only prospects!!! return query.Where(x => x.Prospect != null); } This is the function I call using: var repository = GetRepository<Boxer>(); var boxers = repository.Query().IsProspect(); I would hope this would filter my collection of all boxers down to just boxers that are prospects! Oddly it doesnt filter it but if i hover over my boxers object and look at each boxer during debugging I can see "IsProspect" true or false correctly

• How do I escape a new line character in a .ini file so that Zend_Config_Ini reads it literally?

  I am trying to store a multiple line e-mail in an ini file using PHP/Zend Framework. My string has new lines characters in it, and when I use Zend_Config_Ini to parse the ini file, the new line characters come back escaped, so they are printed out on screen, instead of a line feed. Example: // ini file message = Hi {0},\n\nThis is a test message.\nGoodbye! is parsed by Zend_Config_Ini as: Hi {0},\\n\\nThis is a test message.\\nGoodbye! which then is printed out in the email as: Hi John,\n\nThis is a test message.\nGoodbye! Instead I want the e-mail to look like this: Hi John, This is a test message. Goodbye! Does anybody know how to achieve this? Thanks!

Edit: All but asked question, so to be technical: How can I search the index and have it not return files from the vti folders? Switching to use an ixsso query object is possible, but i'd rather avoid it for this particular instance.

I have the three following tables: users (id, name) products (id, name) owners (userid, productid, date) One product can be sold by user A to user B and then back to A. Now, I want the list of all products currently owned by every single user with the date of transaction. • Select photo while keep the order

  I have a list of photo on the page, each have an unique id, user can click on them to toggle select the photo, when they click the submit button, I need to send the array of selected photo ids to the back end, in the order that the photo was selected. I think that the fastest way to track if a photo is selected is to use an object that use photo id as key, like: var selected = { "6272861": true, "6272888": true } when the user unselect a photo, I just need to delete selected["6272861"]. But this will ignore the order, if I use an array to keep the selected photos: var selected = ["6272861", "6272888"]; then when I need to unselect a photo, I have to loop through the array and delete the item. Is there better ways? thanks.

  Hello everyone, I've been stuck with this problem for hours and I can't see the light. Please give me a hand with this: I have a tableview and a searchbar. The searchbar is situated in the navigationbar. When I do a fast scroll of the tableview, if I select the searchbar while the tableview is still decelerating, a exception raises: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: ' -[NSMutableArray objectAtIndex:]: index 31 beyond bounds for empty array' How can I stop programmatically the deceleration of the tableview? The problem, though, is that for the inside_room drop down, it displays all of the rooms in the Rooms table (including those in other buildings). In the inline of rooms, I need to limit the inside_room choices to only rooms which are in the current building being displayed by the main form. I can't figure out a way to do it with either a limit_choices_to in the model, nor can I figure out how exactly to override the admin's inline formset properly (I feel like I should be somehow create a custom inline form, pass the building_id of the main form to the custom inline, then limit the queryset for the field's choices based on that--but I just can't wrap my head around how to do it). Maybe this is too complex for the admin site, but it seems like something that would be generally useful... Thanks again for your help!

  I'm getting a large number of undefined references when using $ld xdebug.so I have added the "zend_extension="/bla/xdebug.so"" to the conf for apache and it is giving me a config test failed because it cannot find the file. The file has been chown'd to www-data, so I do not believe it is a permissions error. I have run the wizard at xdebug.org/wizard.php to make sure the version would be correct, I updated to the version it recommended with an install from source and still receive the same error with apache and same output from $ld. I originally installed xdebug with: $apt-get install php5-xdebug And have also tried with: $pecl install xdebug

• Installing ZendServer on IIS6

  I need to run ASP and PHP applications side by side, so I installed ZendServer Community Edition on our existing Server 2003 platform. I specified it to use the existing IIS instance so I don't have to deal with multiple ports (we use ZoneEdit to manage our DNS and they don't seem to allow anything other than port 80 without forwarding). The install went smooth but when I try to configure and manage the install by going to http://localhost/ZendServer (or even just localhost) I get a Bad Request (Invalid Hostname) error. I haven't done anything except install the server, and this is my first time working with ZendServer. How do I fix this so I can get things set up?

  Earlier I wrote a blog post about Remvoing Leading Zeros from Column In Table. It was a great co-incident that my friend Madhivanan (no need of introduction for him) also post a similar article over on BeyondRelational.com. I strongly suggest to read his blog as well as he has suggested some cool solutions to the same problem. On original blog post asked two questions 1) if my sample for testing is correct and 2) If there is any better method to achieve the same. The response was amazing. • Windows expand over 2 monitors in quad-monitor setup

  i just installed ubuntu 11.10 with my previous hardware setup: 4 monitors and 2 identical nvidia graphic cards. draging windows around all 4 monitors works nice, but when i maximize a window it expand always over 2 screens. • procmail don't execute php script

  Hi, I have setup a kannel SMS gateway on my FreeBSD 7.2 - the service works great. I'm now trying to setup a email2sms feature. For this i have created a system user called kannel and all mails are forwarded to this user. It then do a http request to the SMS gateway. The php-script works.   In previous versions of StreamInsight (1.0 through 2.0), CepStream<> represents temporal streams of many varieties: Streams with ‘open’ inputs (e.g., those defined and composed over CepStream<T>.Create(string streamName) Streams with ‘partially bound’ inputs (e.g., those defined and composed over CepStream<T>.Create(Type adapterFactory, …)) Streams with fully bound inputs (e.g., those defined and composed over To*Stream – sequences or DQC) The stream may be embedded (where Server.Create is used) The stream may be remote (where Server.Connect is used) When adding support for new programming primitives in StreamInsight 2.1, we faced a choice: Add a fourth variety (use CepStream<> to represent streams that are bound the new programming model constructs), or introduce a separate type that represents temporal streams in the new user model. We opted for the latter. Introducing a new type has the effect of reducing the number of (confusing) runtime failures due to inappropriate uses of CepStream<> instances in the incorrect context. The new types are: IStreamable<>, which logically represents a temporal stream. IQStreamable<> : IStreamable<>, which represents a queryable temporal stream. Its relationship to IStreamable<> is analogous to the relationship of IQueryable<> to IEnumerable<>. The developer can compose temporal queries over remote stream sources using this type. The syntax of temporal queries composed over IQStreamable<> is mostly consistent with the syntax of our existing CepStream<>-based LINQ provider. However, we have taken the opportunity to refine certain aspects of the language surface. Differences are outlined below. Because 2.1 introduces new types to represent temporal queries, the changes outlined in this post do no impact existing StreamInsight applications using the existing types! • KDE: How can I select audio output device for mplayer?

  I recently installed Kubuntu 13.10 64-bit, and I'm having a problem with selecting audio output device. In Phonon, when I select audio device preference order and press Apply, Amarok and Dragon will immediately switch to the preferred device. VLC and SMplayer are not affected. VLC has its own setting for selecting the output device, but SMplayer remains a problem. It always plays audio on internal audio, and I can't change output to HDMI. How can I select HDMI for SMplayer's audio output device? I don't know if it matters, but when I select HDMI audio in Phonon and click Test, the test sound plays on the internal audio output as well. In the hardware settings tab, the front left and front right test buttons play audio on HDMI. Also, volume up/down buttons affect HDMI volume when SMplayer is focused. This would make sense if I could get SMplayer to play audio over HDMI, but it would be better if the volume keys affected SMplayer's own volume, or the "mplayer2: audio stream" which appears in volume control while mplayer is playing. EDIT: I've recompiled mplayer with alsa support, and can now select the audio output device from SMplayer's settings. Didn't affect the issue with Phonon of course, but it's a suitable workaround.
