  • Use a Datamodule in a Service Application

    I wrote my Win32 App to test and debug. I've created a datamodule with all functionality needed to run the TCP sockets and IBDatabase components. After successfully testing the Datamodule in the Win32 application environment I am trying to hook the Datamodule into a Service Application template that I created, I can get nowhere in getting it to run. Could someone indicate whether this strategy of using a Datamodule with Component functionality encapsulating the primary service functions is workable and give a simple template example of how to hook it up if it is??

  • How to relink existing shared library with extra object file

    I have existing Linux shared object file (shared library) which has been stripped. I want to produce a new version of the library with some additional functions included. I had hoped that something like the following would work, but does not: ld -o newlib.so newfuncs.o --whole-archive existinglib.so I do not have the source to the existing library. I could get it but getting a full build environment with the necessary dependencies in place would be a lot of effort for what seems like a simple problem.

    I have this code that saves a pdf file. FileStream fs = new FileStream(SaveLocation, FileMode.Create); fs.Write(result.DocumentBytes, 0, result.DocumentBytes.Length); fs.Flush(); fs.Close(); It works fine. However sometimes it does not release the lock right away and that causes file locking exceptions with functions run after this one run. Is there a ideal way to release the file lock right after the fs.Close()

The use I have in mind is what I suspect is a pretty typical workflow—generating a header using wsdl2h, consuming the header with soapcpp2, and then calling the functions generated in the stub in my code.     How can I search a dynamic array of char in Delphi 6 for a sub-string and get back an index to a match, not a pointer? I've seen functions in Delphi 6 that do this for strings but not for dynamic char arrays. There is a function called SearchBuf but that function returns a PChar pointer to the match location when what I need is the array index of the match. Thanks.
